Mornin. Still a bit soggy. I did see the sun try to peek thru the clouds this morning, but it’s gone again.

  2. Airwolf says:

Good morning! There’s no sun up here, it’s very wet!

  3. msblondie says:

morning gang! or should I say quack quack… I thought we might float away yesterday.. We had several rivers floating in the yard. They were still going this morning but not as bad.

    everyone have a good day!

  4. blues4you says:

    Wooo boy it’s Monday alright.

I’m rolling with the punches, as they say. Flowing with the changes. I’ll be ok. I think the worst is over for me anyway. Other folks, not so much.

    Y’all be careful out there.

  5. msblondie says:

    happy Tuesday morning!

someone turned off the heat yesterday.. dang.

With 49S flooded, hubby has had fun getting to and from work. he has to take about a 30 to 45 minute detour … hoping it will be better by this afternoon.

    everyone have a good day!

  6. parrotmom says:

Hi everyone. Still drip drying here too! You all take care.

    Hugs and prayers for all.

  7. Airwolf says:

    Afternoon everybody!

More rain moving in this afternoon, it’s getting a little soggy on my hill!!

I hope your day is just the way you want it to be!

  8. Molly says:

Hello. It rained a little around noon, but is just cloudy now. I don’t know what the forecast is for the rest of the afternoon. But, MsB is right—the heat has been turned off!
AW, I hope you live at the top of that hill and not the bottom.
Hubby was quite unhappy with the final score of the NCAA championship game last night. He bleeds blue and doesn’t like for his Wildcats to lose.

  9. Clucky says:

Whoops, some of us are still on last weeks FFA.

  10. cardinallady says:

Morning! While it’s still here. Whoops! It’s afternoon now. Anyhow just checkingin. Tuck is eating good. He’s not putting any weight on his back feet yet,but he gets around on his fore feet. When he gets well he will be a circus dog that can walk on his front and back feet. :) Bless his heart. he is so sweet. These past two nights he has slept in my bed for the first time since his accident.

I wish I could get my brain going in a generally easterly direction. I have a large oak tree filling up my back yard. It fell early Monday morning. it destroyed my chicken house and it was the tree that had my swing on a branch. *siiiiggghhh* I spent many a happy moment under that tree. Now it will be fire wood for us next winter.

  11. parrotmom says:

Dang CLady on the tree and swing.

    Happy Wednesday afternoon

  12. Molly says:

Hello. Sorry about the tree and swing, CLady. And the chicken house, too. I bet those hens were none too happy!
Give Tuck a scratch behind his ears for me. Poor feller.
Sure is a pretty, sunny day.

Sneaking in for a moment. Wanted to come get my newspaper for the night. Here are some encouraging words. Song by Casting Crowns. It has been my hang on to life song this past week.

    CASTING CROWNS LYRICS

    “Praise You In This Storm”

    I was sure by now
God You would have reached down
    And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say “Amen”, and it’s still raining

    As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
    “I’m with you”
    And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
    And takes away

And I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
    No matter where I am
    And every tear I’ve cried
    You hold in Your hand
    You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

    I remember when
    I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to you
And you raised me up again
    My strength is almost gone
    How can I carry on
    If I can’t find You

    But as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
    “I’m with you”
    And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
    And takes away

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth

    Just praise JESUS!

  15. parrotmom says:

Happy Thursday! Is my Friday and back to work on Tuesday. No road trip this time.

CLady I love that song and went to their concert here last November.

    Everyone take care.

  16. Molly says:

Mornin! PM, I’m jealous of all your long weekends. Someday I would like to get back to a place where I can take some time off. The longest I’ve taken off at one time in the 3 1/2 years I’ve been here is 3 days…and I’ve only done that once. I am taking 6 days off for our Florida trip in May. They haven’t even started looking for a replacement for the coworker who left so I don’t know what they’ll do while I’m gone..but not my problem – they’ve had ample notice.

  17. msblondie says:

morning gang! I would love a long long weekend also. Been awhile since I have taken more than just a couple days at time.

    Oh well,maybe one day!

    everyone have a great day!

  18. cardinallady says:

Hey, you ladies who haven’t taken off more than three days. If you are entitled to a week’s vacation you should take it a WEEK at a time. I started in full time public work when I was 20 years old. When I worked for the vending food company at he factory I was off when the factory was off non paid.

My first full week of paid vacation came when I was 33. And after that week’s rest I promised myself I’d never go another year without a week off. There is something about it that rejuvenates you. And yes I’ve had to scrape pennies to get to go to the coast with Jon some years, but I wouldn’t trade it for all the gold in Fort Knox!

  19. Molly says:

CLady, until this year I only got 10 days of paid time off…for sick days, vacation days, funerals, whatever…per year. I couldn’t risk taking a whole week off at a time since that only left me a whopping 5 days for the remaining 51 weeks. I now get all of 15 days a year and I wouldn’t be taking so much time at once in May if it wasn’t for Kiddo’s graduation trip.

  20. cardinallady says:

I understand Molly. I’ll be here 25 years come August (but only 18 with this company.) We accrue 15 days vacation at our 10th year.

  21. Molly says:

Does that 15 days include ALL time off? If so, that is definitely not much time after 25/18 years. If you get sick days, etc on top of those 15, that’s not so bad. One of the few really good things about that BS law firm where I worked was the paid time off. I was getting 27 days a year there. That was HARD to give up! I didn’t generally use it all, but it was nice to have it. It really came in handy when I had my back surgery.

  22. Molly says:

Mornin. I think Kiddo has strep throat…and I don’t feel so great myself. We’re both going to the doctor in a few minutes.

  23. msblondie says:

    morning gang! Happy Friday!

    Hope ya get better Molly.

I have bee at work for 2 hours (it is now 10AM) and unable to do much of anything. Some reason I seem to be the only one that can’t access the files we use everyday. I have been on the phone with corp for the past 30 minutes. Before they gave up and moving my ticket up the line. I all did was change my password last night before leaving.. giving the system plenty of time to sync up. New password works, just won’t let in my applications. going be a fun day! hehe

  24. Molly says:

Just got back from dr. I decided not to be checked out. Kiddo has infected lymph nodes. They tested her for strep and mono and both were negative. She’s now on antibiotics for the lymph node infection. I think my symptoms are more allergy related and am trying OTC allergy meds.

  25. blues4you says:

    Good saturday morning errybody.

Y’all don’t have tooo much weekend fun out there. And be careful in whatever you’re doing.
