MRBA Free-For-All

Happy Earth Day! It’s hard to believe April is screaming past us as the speed of sound. Spent some time under the oak yesterday, pondering the future and planning for a better one.

  5. DWB810 says:

  7. msblondie says:

  8. cardinallady says:

Awwwww Blues! I’m soooooo sorrry. The paper kept me kicked in the tailfeathers yesterday and then I left early to take cardinalson back to college. *ahem*

Happy birthday tooo you! Happy birthday tooo you! Happy birthday dear Blues! Happy birthday tooo you!

Hope you had a good ‘un. Let’s see, you are at least 21 right?

Has been a busy week. The best thing about it is there are only 10 more days until the picnic!!!!! YAAAAYYYYYYYY!

Jon and I are leaving as soon as he gets here from Booneville and scooting on down to stay in the LaQuinta. Taking tucker with us. He went with us last night and did very well at Aunt Sherry’s house. He went right to his little tent and slept the night through. No whining or barking in a strange place. I was tickled.

Alright, magazine is in full swing, got phone calls answered now I’ve got to focus on getting this stuff together. Love yall talk later birdies.

I can’t get on facebook without the computer acting dumb. What do I need to bring Saturday?

    • blues4you says:

Aww thanks cardinal. You’re the sweetest.

Thanks everyone for all the wishes. I really appreciate it, being away from home and all.

Trying not to look at the calender and get my hopes up about the picnic. Imma wait a few days before i do that.

  9. cardinallady says:

Clucky, have you bought you a new miata yet?

  10. Clucky says:

I won’t be replacing my car, or at least not in the foreseeable future. Mr. Fab has a company truck, so his pickup truck is the family truckster now.

Still no idea what to bring to the picnic!

    • cardinallady says:

I was just wondering. My bosses brother died suddenly last month. He had some “boy toys” and one of them is a red Miata that they will probably sell for monies to cover funeral expenses.

  11. parrotmom says:

Good morning everyone. Wow!! It’s Thursday already?

Happy Belated Birthday Blues. Hope your wishes come true:)

    Prayers and hugs to all.

  12. msblondie says:

    morning gang!

  13. cardinallady says:

Thursday afternoon indeed. Has been a day alright. And tonight is going to be neat. We have this art gala at one of the newest “exclusive” restaurants here in town. A girl converted an old home into a restaurant and 14 artists are going to bring their art to the show while a concert band is going to play stringed instruments. It is going to be a nice event for our little town. Of course the reporter had to buy a ticket, plus work the evening away. At least I talked my boss into doing the drawing at 7 so I can excuse myself soon afterward. :)

I went to sleep soundly last night for the first time in three weeks. Jon finished the temporary chicken house and my chicks went to bed in it after I switched them to it. Critters like foxes and such won’t get into them now. Thank Jesus and Jon’s strong arms.

  14. DWB810 says:

Hello Everyone!!! Reservations are made so I will be at the picnic. Bringing pasta salad but what else do I need to bring.

  15. Molly says:

YAY DWB! So glad you will be there. I have no idea what to bring. I was thinking about a cake…and buns since nobody thought of them last year. Probably everybody will bring them this year!

  16. Cardinallady says:

Alright y’all had better check I. Tomorrow to let me know you made it thru the night. My parents are in Starkville and will be driving in those winds. Please pray

  17. DWB810 says:

We are staying at the Hampton in Pearl. I will have my mother with me. Not sure if she is going to the picnic or not. She is not able to handle much heat.

  18. Cardinallady says:

Maybe it won’t be too hot. We’d love to meet your mom I’m staying in a prt friendly hotel cause tuck is coming with us

  19. blues4you says:

    4/25/14 07:30am

stumbles in/puts sack full of breakfast tacos on counter/makes coffee/waits on coffee/looks at calender/looks at timeline for project/looks back at calender/raises eyebrows/scratches chin/thinks “hey, this may be doable”/gets coffee/grabs a taco/goes to work

  20. msblondie says:

morning gang! I have attack of allerigies this morning – my voice is almost gone which is not good – for what do I do – Answer phones. will be a fun day.

  21. Molly says:

Mornin. I don’t think it will be too hot Saturday…and the pavilion area is shady. We were downright cold last year.

CLady, no weather problems in my neck of the woods. Just a little rain which I didn’t even hear.

Sounds like you are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, Blues. “Doable” projects are always good. Sure hope you’ll be able to make it to the picnic.

Kiddo has 1 more week of high school left. Hard to believe! She is so ready for it to be over. She’ll have a month break before starting at Hinds.

  22. cardinallady says:

Blues! GREAT!!! I’m so looking forward to seeing you and the others.

Listen yall, please start praying RIGHT NOW. There is talk of rough storms for our area beginning Sunday into Monday with more rain behind them on Tuesday. Just pray that God will protect. I really don’t want to be covering storms the first weekend in May, I’d rather be down there with y’all.

  23. parrotmom says:

Prayers for you and your area CLady. Hope the storms are not so bad.

Blues keeping fingers crossed for you.

DWB will be great to see you after all these years.

Everyone have a great week end.

  24. Old Bopper says:

Evening y’all. PQ and her cousin left for Mountain View, AK this morning. Just me and the cats at home. Wow! DWB can make it for the picnic! And Blues too? Let’s see, the Boss, Cardinal Lady and Cardinal Son, Parrot Mom, Clucky and Mr. Fab, Molly, Mickey Mouse Lover, Old Bopper and PQ, Coop, Legal Eagle, and, and, and….how about it Ms.Blondie? I see you all the time at the ball game and I know our boys aren’t playing on Saturday afternoon.

Legal Eagle has browbeat me into bringing brownies. Got to see what PQ will fix. I’ll try to check in daily up to and through the pic-a-nic. Later folks.

  25. Legal Eagle says:

Aw, now, Old Bopper. I may have mentioned them a time or two. That’s because you make the best brownies I’ve ever eaten in my entire life and that’s saying a lot coming from Feeble Eagle.

We usually just bring what we want to, like a pot luck picnic. If anyone knows of specific things needed, just sing right out. I’m so glad dwb and Blues are joining us this year and hope we have a big crowd. One more week to go!!!

    • blues4you says:

Seconded…Bopper makes the BEST brownies known to mankind. There is no argument in this matter.

I’m not 100% sure of my attendance, but, if synergy holds and none of the paradigms shift, our stakeholders will be motivated to desist in monetizing our project around midweek, thus optimizing my chances.

      • Clucky says:

Quit repeating that middle management BS, Blues! LOL

Every time Steven Covey says “Paradigm shifting”, God kills a kitten.

  26. DWB810 says:

I am so excited to be able to attend the Pic-A-Nic. I will be traveling in from Madison (Alabama that is) by way of Birmingham. If I need to bring anything other than the pasta salad please let me know by Wednesday night as I will not have easy access to the blog.

  27. Clucky says:

Yep, our weather models look impressive for early Monday through Tuesday night here too.

Pleeeeeeeeeeease bring brownies, OB? I might even feel compelled to bring strawberry pies next weekend, but no promises.

Chase and his gf are planning to join us Saturday, and maybe his kids too.

Went fishing this morning. Feel like I have been beat with a bat. Grrrr

  28. Cardinallady says:

At the laundry washing clothes with cardinal son. Told my sisters I has to wash clothes or go to church naked. Mom said that might not be too kosher

Also had to get the clothes done in case I am non stop for three straight days. I’d we get significant damage Jon and I will be busy ministering with care boxes. We cleaned the car out to prepare for that mission. And if we dong get hit well the car is ready for our trip to see all of YOU!!!

  29. Molly says:

Hey. Been to Ruston and Monroe, Louisiana and back today. This old, feeble back and spine of mine don’t take too kindly to numerous hours riding in a car. The Florida trip is gonna hurt…but that won’t stop me.
Kiddo has a boyfriend at Louisiana Tech and wanted to see him (his b’day is tomorrow) and her dad won’t let her drive there by herself (he doesn’t know she has already done that…a couple of times…so shhh!) and he and I rode along and then entertained ourselves elsewhere while they spent the day together. Glad to be back home and off the roadways. Or, as my GPS says, “the motorway.”

  30. Cardinallady says:

On have you heard from prom queen ? Tornadoes headed her way if she is still I. Arkansas

  31. Molly says:

Mornin. Everybody stay safe today…looks like it could be a rough one.
