Friday Free-For-All

Today’s Dr. Seuss Day.  I’ll be reading to my son’s kindergarten class and I can’t wait.  He’ll get a kick out seeing me!

And I can’t wait to see him.

Morning friends. We had a rash of funerals this week. We attended our young friends funeral yesterday!

Hope to go see Squire Parsons tonight here in town at a local church. We have a fund raiser for our Regional Rehab tomorrow night It should be good, we’ll have the Chuck Wagon Gang and Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver. It a great event every year if you enjoy gospel music and funds raised go to a worthy cause!

I hope your day is special!

Fliting through before I leave for my sis’s house. Please pray. The Rainer family is originally from Pontotoc. The kayaker who drowned (sunherald.com) is brother to a deacon at our church. I’ve known the family for years they still haven’t found Nick, the son who was with his father on the fishing excursion in the Davis Bayou.

Gotta fly. I’ll check in later from my sisters house. (((((((hugs and kisses))))))))

I know it was mentioned recently that we should do the MRBA pick-a-nick earlier this year before it gets too hot and I agree. It went through my mind the other day (and apparently flitted right out) that maybe Pearl Park would be a good location this year. It would be close to the many of us who are local and there is a pavillion that can be reserved. There is playground equipment for the kids, tennis courts, etc. and a pretty and well-kept facility which is easily accessible. They didn’t use to charge for reserving the pavillion, but I can check on that Monday. Nobody much ever used the pool at Roosevelt anyway, especially since it went up to $10.00 for the morning swim and another $10.00 for the afternoon swim and last year it was closed for repairs. We started having the picnic after Memorial Day so that the pool would be open, but I think now it would be better to have it while it’s cooler.

Please say what you think and feel free to make suggestions and comments.
