    everyone have a great day!

  4. Mrs. H says:

    Hoooooooow-deee!

That was my Minnie Pearl impersonation (minus the price tag, of course!)

At one point on Saturday all my little girls (aged 24, 18 and 16) were on the living room couch watching “Cinderella” and then “The Frog Princess.” It made this Mama smile.

And hats off to Mr. H. He is training for a marathon in Mobile (December, I think). He ran 12+ miles Saturday morning. He would have made it 13, but he took a limited amount of water with him and had run out. He took a short cut home that cut about 3/4 of a mile off his route.

I think I’m gonna live. I’ve had a stomach virus since Thursday and BE got a touch of it yesterday. I probably felt half a degree better than he did when Lupe asked to go out last night, so I hobbled out in the yard with her. She ran under the front steps and rousted Hoodlum and as I was pulling her away, I teetered on the edge of the walk and took a backward dive into the yard. I hurt my wrist and landed on my head, but I’m thankful that nothing was broken. I lay on the ground a few minutes and didn’t let go of the leash and finally got up. I’m feeling a lot better today, just sore. I hadn’t eaten anything since Thursday afternoon, so we went out to eat Saturday night and found a good new to us place, Fratesi’s at the reservoir. The salad dressing and bread with garlic herb butter were out of this world, but I boxed my lasagna up and brought it home. I haven’t eaten anything since, but I’m determined to get out in a little while to fulfill an obligation to a retired judge to come to her house to play bridge tonight. I’m not contagious anymore and getting out may actually do me some good. Now pass the cheese while I whine….

  6. msblondie says:

Mornin. Coworker is having problems with her pregnancy and is on bed rest. Phone are going crazy at the office. I can’t get anything done! But it does look like it is a pretty day. I understand temps and humidity are supposed to move upward later this week, though. It sure felt nice out last night. I could get used to that kind of weather.
Hope everybody is having a good day.

  10. cardinallady says:

Afternoon! don’t call the coroner. I’m alive. Doing much better than LegalE. I sure hope you get to feeling better big bird girl!

I’m about to go for some bird seed, aka tea and peanut butter sandwich. Then have a staff meeting. see y’all in a bit.

  11. Clucky says:

Checking in. Leagle, I’ve probably lost a few pounds since Sunday myself.

Send up a good word for the Boss. Just trust me on this one.

    TTFN!

  12. cardinallady says:

Lord sometimes we don’t know what to pray, but You know what is going on. Please surround Marshall and hold him in the middle of Your hands. Put your angels of comfort around he and his family in this hour of need. Draw them all to Your great heart and we will be careful to give You the praise. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

  13. Mrs. H says:

Praying for lots of dads this week. The really good ones are in short supply, so we need to hold on to them.

I’m the “additional adult to be present” while a church member teaches an A.C.T. Prep class tonight. El is taking it. It’s in the same building as my office. I don’t have to actually do or say anything, so it’s free knit/crochet time. (I have 2 projects in the works, so I brought both with me.)

  14. Clucky says:

In the past hour and half, I learned my sister is in a coma and is brain dead due to ruptured aneurysm.

  15. LegalEagle says:

Clucky, I am so terribly sorry to hear that. I just got your Facebook message and will hold you in in my thoughts and prayers. I love you and wish there was something I could do.

Marshall, I am so glad you went over to see your Dad and hope he has a full and complete recovery very soon.

  16. Clucky says:

    She’s gone.

Clucky so sorry for the sadness you feel. A life a sister taken do suddenly is truly heartbreaking. Prayers and hugs to you.

Prayers for Marshall’s dad — I missed the memo do not sure what is going in there, but hope he is improving.

    Hugs and prayers to all.

  24. GrammarGirl says:

Clucky, I’m sorry and I love you. Praying for you and yours, my friend. I know nothing I say will help, but I’m praying.

Marshall, I hope your Dad makes a speedy and full recovery. So glad you were able to go be with him.

Hope all are well this beautiful August morning.

  25. LegalEagle says:

Clucky has been on my mind all night. I forgot to ask where her sister lived, if she lived close or just where.

Marshall, you and your family continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.

  26. parrotmom says:

Thanks CL, work has picked up so have fallen behind on my fav things to do.

  27. Airwolf says:

Prayers for Clucky and MR’s Dad!

Nothing to report up here all is quiet!

  28. Clucky says:

She and her family live in Alexandria, LA.

    Still in shock.

Spoke with her daughter; they kept her on life support as she wanted to be an organ donor. Her body is now still; she is now able to save the lives of others even tho she has left this earth. I’m glad her family obeyed her wishes.

Thank you-all of you-for your kind words, sympathy and prayers. One of my sons works in construction during the week. He is taking this so hard; my sis taught him to play “Landslide” a few years ago, and all of our family has associated that song with her as far back as I remember.

“…So, take this love, take it down
Oh if you climb a mountain and you turn around
If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide will bring you down, down
And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills

Well maybe the landslide will bring you down
Well well, the landslide will bring you down.”

  29. dwb810 says:

Good Afternoon Everyone. Wow, lots of heartache in the Family.

Clucky, my brother died years ago so I know the shock and void you feel.

MR, I hope you dad is improving.

  30. msblondie says:

    Happy Thursday gang!

Hope all is doing well. Everyone have a great day!

  31. dhcoop says:

Clucky, I am so sorry, dear! Love, hugs and prayers for you and your family!

  32. cardinallady says:

Has anybody heard from Marshall? Clucky what was your sister’s name? Are there arrangements yet?

  33. Clucky says:

    Marshall’s dad came home today!

My sister lived in Alexandria, LA, for the last almost 40 years. There won’t be a formal memorial service. She was an organ donor, and her remains will be cremated. I’m sure we will all get together again soon.

I got to hold my nephew’s baby girl tonight, and I’m in love! She’s only 8.5# and is a little doll :) I know all of us wish Connie could have seen her before leaving us.

  34. Cardinallady says:

Thanks for the update clucky. Ah hah. I just saw auto correct try to change your name to Clicky. That’s why it showed up that way last time. New life has a way of taking the sting out of death. I was preparing to go be with u at the funeral home sat. Love you dear sister.

  35. parrotmom says:

I believe I forgot to post yesterday. It did cross my kind.

Hugs to you Clucky and prayers for the whole family.

  39. CornPop says:

Wishing all of you a fabulous Labor Day weekend!

Orville and I are keeping our 4-year-old granddaughter, SugarPop, tomorrow night! She’s growing up too fast, is so much fun and a real hoot! We’re going to make homemade pizza and have a slumber party with movies and popcorn. ;-)

  40. parrotmom says:

Evening to you all. I guess my 10 days off is underway. Now what to do?

CP can’t believe SugarPop is 4. Seems like a few days ago we came up with her name.

YOu all be safe and enjoy.

  41. cardinallady says:

Flitting through. Washed and hung four loads of clothes on the line, or rather only hung three, Jon hung his own out. Then I watered all the animals good. It is dangerously hot. I even put some water in my birdie bath so the cardinals can have a drink. The creek is dried up on my end. I will be glad to see it rain again. I just came in to the office to get something printed for Sunday School. Love yall.

  42. Clucky says:

Made it home earlier this evening. We (okay, I) decided to take a different way home. We went to Windsor Ruins. My brother, the history major, had never seen them. He was impressed, to say the least.

It will be good to sleep in my bed. I was sure glad to get hugs from my family; they met me in the driveway :)

Love y’all. Hey Leagle, I even grabbed a couple of lottery tickets. Surely my bad luck won’t follow me much longer!

  43. Clucky says:

    So much for the Powerball.
    Sigh.

  44. Clucky says:

    *tap*
    *tap*
    *tap*
    Is this thing on?

  45. Airwolf says:

It’s on, everybody must be busy!

  46. parrotmom says:

Sunday evening 8:10 I hope everyone is enjoying themselves. I’m rather bored but making the best of it. My day fro traveling will get here and be over before I know it.

Clucky, I’ve never been to the Windsor Ruins either.
