Morning friends! Cool and crisp up here.

Headed out for my 6 month dental checkup!

  2. msblondie says:

happy monday morning gang! It is sure starting to get chilly now.. I am not complaining one bit though :).

had a crazy weekend – M and the boyfriend came down, C and J were over Saturday morning hubby and I were cooking them all pancakes for breakfast along with pumpkin cookies. (these were for M to take back to school – she got some) I think I need another day of rest.

But I guess I best get busy at work.

  3. Molly says:

Mornin. Sinus drainage is threatening to take my voice away.
We had Kiddo’s senior casual pictures done yesterday. For those of you who have not had a high school senior in your life lately, it is a fairly new thing. We’ll use some of the pictures on her graduation invitation. Most of the time, they are outdoor pics. We hired a photographer and went all over town (even Farish Street downtown — our photographer knew all the seedy parts of town!). Those dilapidated buildings made great backdrops! We went there, to the Brandon city park, to the Natchez Trace, to a railroad, and to the Rez. He took 250 pictures over a 4 1/2 hour period. Got some REALLY good ones. We picked our favorite 50 which he will touch up. Then we’ll get all 250 pictures on a flash drive to have printed or use as we wish. It was a fun day. Kiddo was worn out after all her super-modeling.

    • Mrs. H says:

Molly, we did the same thing for Em’s pictures. My son-in-law followed her around downtown Ocean Springs one day taking pictures. Best pictures of her I’ve ever seen. I bought a new SD card for the pictures and we fed him and my daughter lunch. (and had a ball!)

  4. parrotmom says:

Wow, was it Monday? sorry I am so late.

Molly your daughters pictures are wonderful.

  5. parrotmom says:

Good Tuesday Morning! Make it a great Day.

  6. Molly says:

Mornin. Thanks for the compliments on Kiddo’s photos. She is rather photogenic.
Hope everybody has a great day.

  7. msblondie says:

    morning gang!
    Molly the pictures are great.

    everyone have a good day!

  8. Molly says:

My grandmother, age 101, is not doing well. Mom just called to say they are calling an ambulance to take her to the emergency room. She’s in a lot of pain across her back and through her abdomen and, as of this morning, can’t stand up. Mom is supposed to have knee surgery Thursday. Looks like that will be put on hold.

    • Airwolf says:

Sorry to hear that ! Daddy is on antibiotics again! I pray he doesn’t come down with pneumonia again!

      • Molly says:

Hopefully the antibiotics will take care of your dad.
This may be a good thing for my grandmother. She really needs to be in a nursing home, but all have waiting lists. If a doctor sends a patient from the hospital to a nursing home, the nursing has to take them. It is difficult for my mom to take care of her any more, especially with the bad knee. Grandma won’t be happy going to a nursing home, but it would be better for her. And better for mom. Caring for Grandma is really taking a toll on her.

  9. Mrs. H says:

Good News!!! We will be closing on Mom’s house tomorrow!! I am so relieved that we will NOT have to pay taxes and fight with holly bushes any longer. Mom’s realtor neighbor seems happy with the buyers. I’m not overly concerned about the satisfaction of the crabby neighbors on the other side. I’m sure they’ll find SOMETHING to complain about, but it won’t be me they’ll be complaining to. :)

  10. parrotmom says:

Prayers Molly for your Grandmother and mom.

AW prayers for your Dad that he does not get pneumonia again.

Yea MrsH!! I know this will be a relief.

  11. Mrs. H says:

I think I’m fixin’ to be swamped!! I made a pair of baby booties for a friend’s soon to arrive grandson. She posted a picture on FB. Then I made a football bunting and hat for another friend to give to a relative. Then another friend who got a pair of booties from me has just sent me a picture of something else she wants to know if I can create. I think I see a tidal wave building.

  12. parrotmom says:

MrsH so glad you enjoy the challenge.

  13. msblondie says:

    morning gang!

    It be Hump Day!

AW hope your dad is ok. Molly hope your grandmother is ok. I know the decison is hard but sometimes it is the best.

    everyone have a good day!

  14. Molly says:

Mornin. Grandma is in the hospital, but there really isn’t anything they can do for her due to her age. She has numerous gall stones, a blockage in her intestines and an abdominal hernia. Surgery is the only option for any of these, but they won’t operate since she is 101 years old. This morning, Mom said Grandma doesn’t really know much that’s going on. She hardly speaks. Once in a while she will ask if she’s at home, then go back to sleep. Mom still has to decide what to do about her knee surgery scheduled for tomorrow. She will be incapacitated for about 3 weeks after the surgery, and wants to be able to go to my niece’s wedding 4 weeks from now. Without the surgery, she may not feel up to going to the wedding. With the surgery, if Grandma dies in the next couple of weeks, she won’t be able to go to the funeral. She’s in a tough spot.

  15. Airwolf says:

    Morning gang!

These temps are getting colder. It’s supposed to be below freezing Friday night and then warm up again to seasonable temps. I’ll move the plants on the north side to the garage for a night or two. Too early to put in the plant shed. That normally happens in November!

I hope your day is rewarding!

  16. Old Bopper says:

Afternoon gang! PQ left for Arkansas late last week and is due back in a couple of hours. Bet you can see me smiling through the computer screen.

Got a call to work for a client yesterday at the Capitol. Just a quick one time task. Anyway, client reported great satisfaction. Smiling.

Rode Bleuz up to Greenwood day before yesterday. Had to return come motorcycle chaps to a store and get a pair that fits. Got the new ones and trimmed off the extra length this morning. Planning to ride Saturday regardless of the temperature.

Molly, hope your family problems get worked out. Your Mom is in a tough spot.

I think my back has finally healed again. No problems in about a week.

Boss, you’re getting some mighty good pictures. Enjoy seeing them.

    Later y’all!

  17. Clucky says:

    Howdy!!
I had a second interview today with the nurses on the unit I’ve applied for. I think it went very well! Hopefully I’ll hear something soon! Crossing my fingers!!

Mr Fab has the test we’ve been waiting for next Friday morning at St. D. More worry. So ready for answers and to get him straightened out. He’s pretty miserable :/

State contest will be at Pearl this year! Yay!! Maybe I can get some of my local buddies (LEAGLE) to sit with me and join me in freezing off my tush ;)

My sister had a dog that was her buddy. He’s 6 years old and was there when empty nest kicked in, and through Mom’s passing. Now her husband has moved in with their son and there is no room for Bosceaux. I (nor Tim or Morgan) could stand the thought of him going to a shelter. So……yes, we’re bringing him here to live with us. He’s a great dog, and I feel Connie will be smiling down on us :) I’m meeting my nephew’s wife in Vicksburg at noon tomorrow.

Sorry I’ve not checked in. I’ve been working around the house a lot.

    Y’all take care!
    XOXO

  18. Clucky says:

Molly, sorry to hear about your grandmother’s declining health and your mother’a dilemma. I would say go ahead with surgery. Your mom might not be able to walk, but y’all could rent a wheelchair for your mom to use if needed.

  19. parrotmom says:

Morning everyone. I think I missed Hump Day. I kept meaning to post and would get sidetracked. Hope you all have a wonderful day.
Prayers Molly for the situation. May your mom have peace with the deciision she has made. Love, hugs and PRayers.

  20. msblondie says:

    morning gang!

    everyone have a great day!

  21. Molly says:

Mornin. Mom decided to go ahead with her knee surgery. It is scheduled for 1:00 today. Clucky, no need to rent a wheel chair — Grandma has one she’s not using right now. Not much change in Grandma’s condition. She just sleeps all the time. A couple of men from church went to visit her yesterday. She thought one of them was my hubby and the other was…well, me. The one she thought was me is a short, round, balding man with a mustache. My dad thought that was hilarious and couldn’t wait to call and tell me. Oh, well…at least I got credit for a visit. Usually she complains that I haven’t been to see her for months when I was just there a couple of days earlier.

    • parrotmom says:

Molly that is funny and good that your feelings are not hurt. Your GM may have just been in her own world and not really seeing the men that were there. Prayers for your mom that all goes well.

      • Molly says:

Her dementia is getting worse, she can barely hear and her sight is going. I guess I didn’t have a chance. I learned when caring for my other grandmother who had dementia many years ago to laugh at what they say and do. You can’t have thin skin and deal with people in dementia! Mom has not yet learned to roll with whatever she says and play along. She drives herself crazy trying to correct grandma and get her to understand things.

  22. Molly says:

Clucky, I know Mr. Fab is ready for some relief. I hope they can do something for him soon. I know all too well how miserable back pain is.

  23. cardinallady says:

Hey red streak here. Been swamped with pink pages and women lately. About done with october. Then I get this call that I’m neglecting the web site. *siiiggghhh* Oh well it will all come out in the washing machine. :)

Molly, so sorry about your grandmom. They are special people. It is hilarious that she mistook you for a fella. That’s just too funny. Take care of your mom.

Alright gotta get back to the mines. See yall later.

  24. Molly says:

Mom is out of surgery and back home. Everything went well and she’s sleeping now. Doc says she can put as much weight on it as she feels comfortable with. She put some weight on it getting in and out of the car this afternoon…but that was with lots of pain meds in her. Tomorrow will probably be a different story.
My grandmother’s doctor indicated to the sitter today that he plans to release her tomorrow. That won’t do. Dad is trying to get him on the phone now to make sure he knows no one is available to care for her right now. Apparently that bit of information was lost on him.

  25. Clucky says:

Maybe grandmother could go to a skilled nursing facility for respite care. Just a thought. Molly, the school of thought has changed regarding dementia and confusion. Don’t bother trying to correct them-you’ll just drive yourself crazy too. Just go along with whatever they say.

I picked up my sister’s dog today from my niece. We met in Vicksburg. He rode like a champ! He’s attached himself to me and is sleeping on the floor beside my side of the bed. I’ll have to remember that if I get up in the middle of the night!

Tonight is Thing 1’s last college game this year. No thanks; we went for homecoming. No need in freezing two nights in a row!
    Ta ta for now!

    • Molly says:

That’s what I keep telling mom, Clucky. But she just can’t help arguing. I just let Grandma say whatever she wants.

  26. msblondie says:

    HAPPY FRIDAY!

Everyone have a great day! OH yeah #HAILSTATE :)

  27. CornPop says:

Isn’t it a glorious day?!?! Today is Orville’s “second birthday”! One year ago today he had his bone marrow transplant that, in my opinion, saved his life. All of you played an important role in his recovery and my sanity by your positive thoughts and prayers. It’s so hard to believe that this time last year he was walking through the darkest time of his life (more than anyone is aware of) and now he’s doing so well. All of the scans that have been done on him over the last ten months have all come back with no signs of cancer! Thank you, God, and I want to personally thank each of you, too! We’re going to have a big party tomorrow to celebrate life. :-D

Prayers for Molly’s grandmom and mom, Clucky and Mr. Fab, and everyone else, too! We can all use a good prayer and hugs! ((((((MRBA)))))) 

    • Molly says:

      {{{{{{CornPop}}}}}} right back at ya.
I’m glad Orville is doing so well!

    • msblondie says:

CP what great news. So glad Orville is doing great! It is a reason to celebrate. We know we serve a wonderful Lord and he still preforms mircles every day!

      Hugs to all!

  28. Molly says:

Dad sent me to the hospital last night to see what’s going on with Grandma. They are not planning on sending her home. A nurse told her they would consider it…but only said it to calm her down when she was really agitated. They are looking at finding a place for respite care, and may be looking at Hospice. I think Hospice is probably the best place for her. She has never officially been given a “6 months left” diagnosis that Hospice requires, but the nurses agreed that Hospice is the best option so I guess they are thinking we’re down to the end. The doctor is supposed to call Dad when he makes his rounds this morning and talk about the options.

  29. Clucky says:

Hospice is a lot different than it used to be; I think it’s a good choice for her, based on her diagnosis. I’m sorry :(

Happy Birthday, Orville, squared! Love you, CornPop!!

Tonight is the locally famed “Breland Bowl.” Lake is tough this year, so it should be a good game! It’s also Senior Night.

Sissy’s dog is doing well :)

  30. Molly says:

Dad talked to the doctor and he agreed Grandma should go to Hospice. The Ridgeland facility is nice, and it is not as chaotic as a nursing home. Also, they have a 1 nurse for every 2 to 3 patient ratio, instead of 1 nurse to every 20 patients in a nursing home.

  31. Molly says:

    AW, how is your dad?

  32. parrotmom says:

Hi everyone. I have been lost in lala land. I ‘m here and then get sidetracked. Molly sounds like things are going the way they need to for your grandmother. I hope your mom had a good day today.
AW glad your dad is improving.

It is cold outside and inside in my opinion. I have wood burning in my fireplace. It;’s not a big fire but some is better than none.

  33. parrotmom says:

Good morning to all. I don’t know what the low was other than cold. Outside and in. Love the weather just don’t care for the teeth chattering.

    Enjoy you day.

  34. Airwolf says:

Morning! 31 on my thermometer this am. Nice now though. It’ll hit 80 again next week!

I hope you have a great weekend!

  35. Clucky says:

Sunday evening. Just checking in. I went to DG to get cat food, and my car was hit by a big Ford that forgot he parked beside me. Thank God he had good manners and better insurance.

My sister’s shepard/cur mix is a lot bigger than our little poodle mixes. He’s well mannered and house trained. And he’s already made himself at home in our little place.

Chicklette’s boyfriend got his graduation present yesterday-a “Grabber Blue” 2014 Mustang. FIIIINE looking car. Grabber Blue is the name of the color. Look it up-it’s attention grabbing, all right. He’s still smiling.

Soaking up Ironman 3 this weekend. It’s good :)
