I did not know that cat’s will lick your toes and for a little more attention will even nibble at them. I sleep with my feet out from under the cover and she would just stretch to get to them about 3:00 in the morning, but the the last couple of nights sleeping at the foot of the bed. We are making progress, but when she heard the birds start stirring at sunrise about 5:00 she was ready to go. Although I picked her up and she laid beside me for about 5 minutes while I petted her and she was just a rumbling.

Morning everybody. The red bird DID flit through yesterday. A hawk must have eaten my post. I made a comment about the Neshoba cabins. marshall always took and drew great pictures of them. You never know when you are photographing history.

Anyway, I’ve gotta get my paper off to bed and tonight Jon goes to see my uncle for a week. We are going to get our corn in the ground today before he goes. Will put myokra on to soak so I can plant it tomorrow. I know I shouldn’t just NOW be planting, but coudn’t be helped.

Yall have a GREAT day. I’ll flit back in when I can. I can’t WAIT for the picnic. OH speaking of the picnic, I need a kiddie count, those who are 13-14 even 15 and under.

  10. Crystalbutterfly says:

    hey all!!!
prayers to all that need them—know I do!

  11. Mrs. H says:

C-Lady, my uncle told me that after moving to Lancaster, PA, from NOLA just after Katrina, they have learned never to plant anything before Mother’s Day.

  13. Airwolf says:

Morning folks. I’m dragging this morning, stuffed up. I think a decadron shot is in the near future.

MrsH sorry I missed El’s birthday. Happy belated Birthday.

Drove through Smithville yesterday evening on the way to the funeral home. Still looks horrifying.

  14. The Real Jb says:

    Morning all.
Looks like my wife and I will be shopping for a washing machine. Had a nice whirlpool we thought. It’s motherboard went out after 3 years of use and is going to cost as much as a new machine. So what brand is the BEST?

    • The Real Jb says:

This is sad but funny. They just gave me an estimate to fixing my machine. $925. I paid $500 for the machine.

      • Mrs. H says:

We got that same word about our 5 year old dishwasher. I have a GE washing machine right now, but it’s only a couple of years old. We had the one it replaced for over 15 years, but for the life of me, I can’t remember what kind it was. We moved twice with that machine.

      • msblondie says:

I have the 1st generation Cabrio’s – yeah they are fancy.. but i love being able to wash a king comforter at home and not having to go to the laundry mat. Mine are top loaders. but it is funny they class them as front loaders. I guess I have had them about 4.5 years. The washer mother board messed up but the home warranty we have covered fixing that. But they have been a great washer and dryer for me.

    • dhcoop says:

Personally, I’m all for a no-frills, cheapest thing you can get, no bells or whistles, large load washer. It’s the bells and whistles that cost, AND that break.

    • Airwolf says:

I’ve got a Whirlpool dish washer waiting on a motherboard now. They used to make quality products, not anymore. It’s 26 months old, out of warranty of course!

  15. Mrs. H says:

Our new one is a front loader. If I had to do it over again, I’d go for top load. When I take wet clothes out, they are all tangled together. Pulling one pair of wet pants out tends to pull the entire load out onto the floor. And the way our laundry room is set up (vent and water hook-up) the doors of the washer and drier are back to back between the openings rather than on opposite sides. That means the doors are in the way and swaying back and forth. I usually drape some damp something over both doors to keep them stationary while I transfer from washer to drier.
…Just some things to keep in mind.

  16. dhcoop says:

Talked to Baby Girl while ago. She’s apparently got bronchitis and the antibiotic she’s been on for over a week hasn’t helped. They put her on a different kind. Her diabetes is not reacting well to continuous fever. Glucose levels are raging and not responding to insulin. She’s miserable.

  17. OldBopper says:

Consumer Reports year end buying guide suggests a $500 GE top loader from Lowes and a $450 GE top loader as good machines. I don’t think we have ever had anything but Kenmore washers and have them last for years, and years and years. Nothing real fancy but it washes clothes and does a pretty good job at it.

  18. Legal Eagle says:

Happy Birthday, Barb! I’m looking forward to meeting you at the picnic this year!

AW, I played bridge with Shirley last night and she had been for a decadron shot yesterday for poison ivy. Those things make me goofier that I usually am and I won’t take any more of them. My youngest had to get a shot for poison ivy one time and the next time she started to break out, I poured nearly a box of baking soda in her bath water and that cleared it up.

I going to have to get back on the phone because I just found out that one of my players has had a mini-stroke and is in the hospital and he had signed up to play Thursday.

    • Barb says:

Thanks for the b’day wishes, but my birthday was in March. Unfortunately, I will be working and cannot attend the picnic. I expect to see a lot of pics and to hear all about everything that goes on!!

  19. dhcoop says:

Today is Barb’s birthday?? How did I miss that?

    Happy Birthday Barb!

  20. Airwolf says:

    Happy birthday Barb!!

  21. Ann Onimous says:

I’ll sing when I get home! Honest!

  22. pncpnthr says:

Oh, my, so sorry I’ve missed Barb’s birthday! I’ve missed quite a few, actually. Hope everyone has a Happy Birthday this year!! That should do it…:)

  23. clucky says:

Howdy. We are all home and just feeling blah.

Please keep Mr Fab’s mom in your prayers, y’all. Treatment last week, then went in the hospital yesterday. White cells are nonexistent, and red count is negligible. Needless to say, she is in reverse isolation and getting several transfusions. Also, if you can, please donate blood. She’s not doing well at all. She never really perked back up after the treatment she got a month ago, and now she seems to be going downhill. This is tough.

  24. dhcoop says:

    Evenin

Clucky, definitely will be praying for Mr Fab’s Mom and you all. Keep us posted. How are YOU doing??

I’m down in Gtown waiting on Big Sis to get home. She bought me Steven Tyler’s book! I’m about to dive into it. I have to screen it first before I decide if it’s going to be acceptable reading for Mom. She just loves him and I wouldn’t want her reading something that might tarnish her image of him.

  25. Barb says:

Thanks all, but it is not my birthday.

    LEagle, responded to you above.

  26. Barb says:

Clucky, prayers for Mr. Fab’s mom. I hate that I can’t give blood because I have O- which is the universal donor.

  27. dhcoop says:

LOL!! Leagle, please splain how you led us dowm that path!?! What’s funny is we probably all wished Barb happy Birthday in March, then forgot! LOL!

  28. parrotmom says:

  29. parrotmom says:
