Howwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwdy! (IN BEST MINNIE PEARL VOICE!)

    (ducking)

How y’all are? Slept good, up early and about to put my clothes on and go on in to work. Plenty to do before the phones start ringing, and I have to leave early for my appt at UMC this afternoon. A little nervous, but not too bad. I keep telling myself, “It’s just a consult. Just a consult.” Maybe I will start believing myself if I say it enough.

Got my girl home (again) and we are planning to get the priming knocked out on her room this week so we can paint it. I dread the ceiling; hoping I can bribe Thing 2 into that chore! He’s been quite helpful since he has been out of work, but dang, the manchild needs a JOB. He has many applications to return today and tomorrow, so I am crossing my fingers. Thing 1 is doing pretty good as usual. He’s low-maintenance.

My friend has an appt Thursday, so keep her in your prayers still please. Granny is supposed to be discharged today; she sounded a LOT stronger this weekend.

Y’all have a good day! I’m sure I will be checking in from one of a million waiting rooms at UMC Pavilion this afternoon. Muah.

Mawnin’ y’all. It’s 6:48 am and PQ is on the road to McComb to see her folks. I’ve got decisions to make. Should I trim the shrubs, wash the car, edge the drive and walk, clean inside, or go for a ride and forget all that? Got to go visit a friend in the hospital this afternoon.

Hope y’all have a good start to the week.

I’m nervous about hubby’s surgery tomorrow and may be “rambly” today. forgive me in advance.

big sis has been having frequent nose bleeds. doc said he may have to cauterize it. she had one saturday night. I got the sheets and took them out to the utility room – older remodeled house so the utility is under the carport. when I got ready to go back inside there was a 6″ spider blocking the door. I was wondering how in the world I’d get back in the house. I wasn’t walking around front or back since it was dark and I may run into a spider web. plus those doors were locked. so I blew the car horn. I was afraid the monster would run inside when hubby opened the door (then I couldn’t go inside plus my babies were in there) so I SCREAMED when he opened the door. he automatically knows what that scream means. he shut the door to grab a shoe but in the mean time the aggravating little puppy being raised at my house runs up the steps and chases the spider down. so I’m screaming and running cause the puppy and spider is running all over the place. I finally made a break for the door and got back in. did I mention, I HATE SPIDERS?

I found out around midnight last night that my eye appointment was this morning, not tomorrow. Turns out their computer that makes reminder calls is down. I finally looked at the appointment card in my purse and saw it was at 9:10 this morning. They make most eye shot appointments on Thursdays and I have told them I can’t come on Thursdays (bridge game), so my appointments have always been around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and take 3 to 3 1/2 hours. I left my 9:10 appointment this morning at 10:30 after the 5th of 6 eyeball shots. This morning he mentioned cataract and I asked if I had one and he said the beginnings of one, but anyone who had experienced their 50th high school reunion had them. Great!

We had the prettiest spider that built a web just to the left and down from our front door when my youngest child was in school. It was huge and black and had a beautiful orange stomach. When we approached the web, the spider would swing the web. I called Felder Rushing and asked about it and he said it was a garden or cotton spider and that they were very good spiders and that they swing their webs as a defense mechanism. He said he wouldn’t recommend picking it up though because they would bite. I told him that wouldn’t be a problem. We enjoyed watching her for a while and one day when we came home from work and school, the was gone and the web was gone too. I just know some little destructive brat in the neighborhood knocked her down and good thing I didn’t get my hands on the culprit.

Clucky, I know I’ve read some Taylor Caldwell, but I will have to go back and look into her books. Thanks for the suggestion.

Having leftovers from a date-night with Mr. H. The girls were all gone, so after church last night we went to O’Charley’s in Mobile. When the waitress asked if we wanted dessert, we told her we had that before we came. There was an ice cream social after church last night!

I just got to take the patch off my eye, but my right eye is still dialated.

BE hasn’t gotten to go fishing yet and I wish he would go on so I can watch last week’s epiode of the Bachelorette before the new one comes on tonight. Did any of y’all see the new adventure show last Thursday night with the 3 guys from Bolton (The Country Boys)? I wasn’t too impressed and drifted off to sleep in the middle of it. Most of these reality shows are pretty far out, but I still love Survivor and I’m facinated with The Bachelor/Bachelorete for some reason. I guess it’s watching people on there act really stupid. But, hey, the scenery is great on both of them and I do get my travel experiences vicariously these days.

I saw that show, LE. Was really surprised when one of the Mississippi boys couldn’t deal with 100 degree heat and girls from the Bronx went right on by them. Overall, I was not overly impressed with the show.

  17. OldBopper says:

Tank, prayers for you and hubby. Looking forward to a good report tomorrow.

LE I was told a couple of years ago that I have the start of a cataract. Just part of growing up I guess.

Went to Wally World awhile ago, purchased 11 items and came out with 9 bags.

A pleasant surprise today. My house payment is decreasing by $100 or so per month for next year. I’ve used an adjustable rate mortgage for years and have never had a problem. Once you clear the second year, things settle down. My current interest is 2.875%. Makes it tough as far as a tax deduction goes though.

PQ just returned from McComb with some fresh picked tomatos. Yummie!!

  18. parrotmom says:

Tank Prayers for your hubby and his surgery. I understand the nervousness even though I don’t know the situation. Surgery is just scary.

I laughed at you Spider scare. The spider was that big or just the web? LOL!!!

  19. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

Tank, I’ll be praying for hubby and you tomorrow. Keep us posted.

The spider story was a hoot!

  20. Ann Onimous says:

Me + spider = peeling me off the ceiling.
Me + snake = playtime. (I love snakes.)

  21. parrotmom says:

very fascinated with AnnO’s and Pnc’s comments. I can kill a spider depending on the size and can run from a snake no matter if a few inches long to several feet.

  22. Barb says:

Tank, prayers for you and yours. Continued prayers for all others.

  23. Legal Eagle says:

I should be sugar shocked by now because of the yummy Gilbal’s gourmet jelly beans we found and have been consuming all night. I’ve had plenty of Jelly Belly jelly beans and they are good but these are really good.

I realized at 6:30 that I had 30 minutes to cook supper before the Bachelorette came on so I ran in the kitchen and fried boneless sirloin pork chops, whipped up some garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli with cheese sauce and sat in front of the TV just a the Bachelorette came on. And they said it couldn’t be done. Hah!
