Morning all you good poeple. JB I meant to say how sorry that your offer did not go through. I have always been told where one day closes another will open in God’s time not ours. Keep praying and something good will happen.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday :) OB’s last day before the road trip to Florida.

  2. parrotmom says:

Marsahll I hope you are feeling better and stronger with each day. Keep up the good work!!

  3. blues4you says:

    Good morning.

It’s 07:05 on my sun dial.

I’m ’bout ready to “choot ’em” this morning.

  4. Mrs. H says:

I feel much better today. Went walking with Mr. H and getting ready for work. The eldest is taking the Praxis I test today: her first step in reaching the goal of teaching physics (and other subjects).

  5. OldBopper says:

Mawnin’ y’all. A busy day on tap. Cutting grass, basic housekeeping, doing the inside of the car, running errands, packing, getting ready to head’em up and move’m out.

Ah, looking forward to the smell of the salty air, seeing the frothy waves and hearing the pounding surf!! And eating oysters, grouper, flounder, crab, shrimp, and….and some wonderful gelato. Thank you God!

  6. Airwolf says:

Morning gang! I’ve got to take both Pepper and BB to the vet for their checkup and shots.

It’s time to cut grass at the farm. I’m waiting until tomorrow, supposed to be 10 degrees cooler!

    OB enjoy your trip!!

  7. CornPop says:

PM, in answer to your question last night, Orville has his chemo tomorrow (Friday) and we’ll also hear how the PET scan that was done on him yesterday turned out (or what it showed). I’ll be with him and update y’all remotely when I can.

Good morning and good day to all!

  8. dhcoop says:

  10. OldBopper says:

Just finished a great 35 mile ride on Boule. Nice and cool this morning. Traversed some wonderful twisty country roads and finished up doing 65-70 on Hwy 80 from Pelahatchie to Brandon. Now, time to get to work.

  11. bpman says:

Mawnin MS MR fans! Beautiful day up here in MO so far. Kids are off to school, I just finished cup a coffee & read an article about Matamoros releasing a warning to its Mexican citizens about how dangerous visiting the American side of the border has become…
    a quote from the article:
“Violence has arrived in the U.S. border cities; that it is not known or reported to the extent that it is in Mexico doesn’t mean that it isn’t happening,”.
Mexico telling its citizens how dangerous its become to visit America, ironic right?

    • Legal Eagle says:

I lived in San Antonio for 4 years and used to enjoy trips to Matamoros, Laredo and other border towns. The Drive Inn in Matamoros served excellent food with strolling mariachi band members and parrots behind a glass wall. And I used to enjoy watching the bartenders at the American Bar decorate trays of drinks. When I was in high school, my Spanish class chartered a bus and we travelled through San Antonio and after touring the Alamo, travelled on to Monterey, Mexico. I hate that present day circumstances prevent others from enjoying the cultures of both countries.

      My daughter lives in MO!!

  12. The Real JB says:

AC not working in our building. Hmmm :\

  13. parrotmom says:

JB it’s going to be mighty warm soon.

MrsH, so glad you are feeling better.

OB, oh how you make me long for the beach. I love the sound of the waves and watching sunsets and sunrises.

  14. Legal Eagle says:

MrsH, I’m glad you are feeling better and JB, I hope you get to work from home until they get the air fixed at your office.

Blues, would you please send me an e-mail at the same address I used to have except instead of @bellsouth.net use @comcast.net Thank you!

  15. The Real JB says:

Well the the church purchase may not be completely dead. We are hearing the group that outbid us may not be able to make such a purchase financially.

  16. parrotmom says:

JB sounds promising. We know if it is Gods will, all things are possible.

  17. cardinallady says:

Morning everybody. Flitting through. As I look at the weather for the East coast, I can’t help but remember Marshall’s first cartoon before Katrina hit. It was the list with the biggest word “PRAY”. I think that is a very appropriate thought for today for our friends on the east coast.

  18. OldBopper says:

Amen on prayers for those who may be affected by Irene. Grass is cut, about to finish up the car. PQ is washing clothes and, I hope, my motorcycle helmet liners.

  19. The Real JB says:

Did yall hear that Tank is having leg transplant surgery because it has been determined her legs are too long for her body?

  20. dhcoop says:

I’m hungry! What’s for lunch? I’m having chicken salad I made yesterday.

  21. Airwolf says:

Both pets to the bet and back. Now they are both ticked! Pepper has to go back Monday and have two teeth removed.

  22. parrotmom says:

well back to work, I hope Wendy’s isn’t too crowded so I can get my “frosty”.

  23. OldBopper says:

Only have the car windows left to wash inside and out. Glad I checked the spare tire air. It had 10 lbs. My trusty air tank had more than enough to fill it up.

Uh, ladies, you need to get someone to check your air in your spare tire. The last lady I helped with a flat, had a flat spare too.

  24. OldBopper says:

The Washington Monument has some cracks in it. Hate that. The Federal Government will probably take fifteen years to fix it at a cost of $5 Billion. It’s just that way in the government’s fantasy world.

Seriously, what would be the downside of getting some Las Vegas imploders to take the whole thing down and replace it with a life sized statue of Washington? I mean the monument doesn’t look anything like the guy anyway.

  25. msblondie says:

back from lunch with one of my vendors – went to Takara (?) in Clinton. It was so good. We had a good time.. then I had a meeting. so now to do some work.

  26. tank says:

    dear jb,
    I am not a fish.
    sincerely,
    ain’t taking the bait

    • cardinallady says:

LOL! Tank, I don’t know why, but your little ditty reminded me of a line in Pirate’s 3 when Barbosa called Tia Doma a fish wife.

  27. The Real JB says:

    you just did

  28. cardinallady says:

Yall looked at the size of Irne lately? UNREAL. She is bigger than Katrina.

  29. parrotmom says:

It is pretty big. I talked to someone in NC they felt the earthquake but should not feel the effects of Irene although his parents are leaving the coastal area.

  30. OldBopper says:

I must down go to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
    Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

From “Sea Fever” by John Masefield

  31. dhcoop says:

    Evenin

Please pray for my family tonight. That is all for now…

  32. parrotmom says:

Prayers Coop, I hope all works out ok.

    Evening at 9:14 pm

  33. parrotmom says:

OB I guess you folks will be leaving early. Safe travels and stay in touch.

  34. Airwolf says:

OB be careful and have a blast.

PMit looks like everybody has gone to bed.

  35. parrotmom says:

Guess I will too shortly. Nite to everyone. 10:25 pm.

  36. Barb says:

Late getting up again and computer ills tonight and last night!
Responded to bpman and LegalEagle above.

  37. Clucky says:

Prayers for Coop & pnc. (((hugs)))

Mr Fab lost the bracelet he’s worn for the last month that held a little of his Mom’s ashes. He is devastated. We did find a metal detector and spent 3 hours walking all over a farm, but to no avail.

My former college band director at EC was diagnosed with esophageal cancer last week. It hasn’t spread, but the tumor is just about to completely close off his airway and esophagus. Feeding tube goes in tomorrow along with a port, then radiation time. His former students (including me) have started “The Army of Tom.” T-shirts were printed today, and all proceeds go to his family. He is an institution here-30 years as the band director. He has the greatest sense of humor and attitude-he should fare well. He is a dear friend now, and has been texting me with the funniest questions. He rocks :) He’s at Baptist, so y’all be nice to him!

Hormones, given correctly, are a wonderful thing. That is all.
