good morning. Yesterday was very busy. I was doing something new and had to make sure the bugs were worked out. I think I have it figured out.

G’morning. Sitting on the living room balcony watching as the sun paints the ocean with pastel colors and the hues range from very light to dark. It’s a beautiful sight tha only God can create. Not a cloud in the sky and the sea is as calm as can be. It’s the pause between high tide and the recession to low tide later in the day.

No plans made for today. We’ll just play it by ear and do whatever we want, when we want. Hope everybody has a wonderful day. Rejoice and be glad in it.

Mornin’. MR’s crud somehow wormed its way through the internets and now I have Bronchitis. Thanks, Shug. Just about the whole family has this mess.

I’m home so I can do breathing treatments all day. May pull out the sewing machine. It’s the only thing I can work on that will not send me into a coughing fit.

MR, Loving your writing. Please keep it up.

I started on Em’s pit costume this weekend: pirate pants(which are really just loose pants that she can tuck into a pair of my boots.) Next is the belt, which for the life of me looks like a shortened version of a lace-up corset! I’ve got to find some eyelets for the laces to run through. WM only has large eyelets. I need some about the size your shoelaces run through.

    Good morning.

    Got home sunday evening.

I’ve been fishing this morning. OB, I’m sure your sunrise was beautiful as was the one on I saw on the river this morning. Caught 4 catfish on jugs that weighed 10lbs total.
    Fresh fish for supper tonight.

    Now, to the lawn mower.

    peace, y’all.

  9. Airwolf says:

Morning folks. Delightfully cool this morning. My Pepper dog doesn’t feel very well.

Bronchitis has been trying to get on me for a while. Rambette got up complaining of the crud this morning!

    Nothing like fresh fish Blues.

  10. parrotmom says:

    thought for today!!!
Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can’t eat it or play with it, Just pee on it and walk away.

Blues, I think you had a good solution—go fishing.

Mornin. Busy busy day at the office. Puppy Nicky is doing pretty good. He was running on the bum leg this morning. He acts like nothing is wrong. Took him a little while yesterday to get used to the stiff leg, but once he did, he was off and going. He climbs his doggy steps to the bed. He goes in and out the doggy door. He chases Connor. Only difference is he can’t quite catch Connor now.

Last week I read 2 Jessie Coulter novels, “Knockout” and “Born To Be Wild” and then read Lisa Gardner’s new one, “Love You More.” I just finished Tess Gerritsen’s latest this morning called “The Silent Girl.” This was the first one of hers that I had read and it was great. I’m always happy to find an author who is new to me, especially when they have written a number of books before the present one. I have already been to the library webpage and requested some of her others. Now I only have one more that has to be returned Thursday.

  13. Mrs. H says:

This month I got a Kindle (electronic book). I got a cover for it that has a built in book light. I really like it. Amazon had “Water for Elephants” on sale for 2.99 last week so I got it. I am really enjoying reading it. And there are LOTS of classics out there for free download.

  14. Legal Eagle says:

I read “Water For Elephants” and loved it and would love to see the movie. I heard it’s one movie that is as good as the book. And I read her book about the apes and enjoyed it too.

  15. OldBopper says:

Nice lunch at Pompano Joe’s. Then back to the dreaded outlet mall. PQ got three nice suits and a blouse.

  16. The Real JB says:

Had a job interview today with First TN bank. I think it went well. Will know next week.

  17. msblondie says:

The company I have been “consulting” with has decided to hire me full time!

  18. Mrs. H says:

Hooray for JB and MsBlondie! (JB, I’m going to go ahead and celebrate now as an act of faith)

We wanted to get our pastor something special (that he’s had his eye on) for Pastor Appreciation in October. We thought we had plenty of time. Just to make sure, we enlisted his bride. (If a pastor won’t listen to his wife, does he really need to be your pastor?) As it turned out, he called her from the store about to make the purchase last week. She was quite forceful in her nixing of that idea!! Yes, he listened to her.

So we have appreciated him early this year. It arrived by UPS today and we let him think that it was for our worship pastor, who let him look at it, and then pointed to the engraving on the back: ” Welcome to the dark side” with his name! I have never seen such a confused look on anyone’s face!! It was priceless.

  19. Legal Eagle says:

I don’t know if y’all saw Close to Home http://www.gocomics.com/closetohome/today, but this one tickeled my funnybone.

  20. parrotmom says:

    evening to everyone.

  21. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

Congrats to Jb and Blondie! Good news! We don’t get enough of that…

MrsH, that sounds great! I’m sure once the confusion ended he was quite happy.

I’m boiling some jumbo peanuts. It’s that time of year.

  22. parrotmom says:

Nothing better than some home boiled jumbo peanuts. PD always did a wonderful job!!!

  23. msblondie says:

    thanks guys!

I like coop am boiling peanuts… my mom sent me home with a large grocery bag full. my extra large pot would not hold them all so have two pots going.

  24. dhcoop says:

I just have one pot going, but I’ve got another 15 lbs in the fridge to take to one of my boys tomorrow. He has never boiled peanuts, so he’ll get a lesson tomorrow!

  25. Barb says:

    G’nite ya’ll all!!(plural, ya’ know?!)

  26. parrotmom says:

the only problem with boiling peanuts is when they start boiling they smell like dirt, but oh so good!!!

  27. OldBopper says:

    Evening!

Good news MrsBlondie! Keeping fingers crossed for you JB.

I can see the lights of a ship or boat on the nautical horizon. To the west we can see the lights of Destin which I affectionately call the “concrete jungle”. To be fair, Destin has bunches of high rise condos, but it is all in relatively good taste. If you want to stay in a high rise with a fancy pool, fancy appliances, granite counter tops and hot tubs on the deck, then that’s real nice.

Here, I park at my front door and can be on the beach in 30 seconds with ease. But, we don’t have access to fancy pools and things like that. Our area is more
countryfied than Destin. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

One of the condo’s in our building will vacate tomorrow and I am hoping to get a chance to see it inside. I think we may want to rent it for next year. Will know after I see the inside. All of these are different and I think ours is one of the best in this group based on the information I have at hand.

Legal, I’m on my second novel this week. That’s real unusual for me.

  28. dhcoop says:

OB, I do have memories of when I could afford to do that. .. good times…no more… Maybe someday again.

  29. parrotmom says:

We haven’t traveled that much or often. Maybe a day will come when PD and I can venture around?

    Nite to all!!!

  30. Legal Eagle says:

If I could just win the Powerball, we could have a beach party, my treat! That sounds a little like, “If I’m elected, I promise to blah, blah, blah.”

  31. OldBopper says:

G’morning y’all. It’s 5:20 am on Wednesday. Awoke early this morning. The sea is stirred up as there are thunderstorms to the south of us, probably 60 miles or so to the south. Anyway, I can see the lightning from here. AW, it looks like ordanance exploding rather than the long streaks we normally associate with lightning.

Our skies appear to be just a clear as can be. I was hoping for some early morning clouds. Will be able to see for sure in about fifteen to 20 minutes.

Hope everybody has a good start to the mid-week.
