Mornin!
Getting ready to head to town. Gonna buy some of those good Pillsbury biscuits to bake up this morning for my boys to have with the great jellies lil sis gave me for my birthday. I’m excited!
I’m also excited about giving a co-worker the big clump of spider lilies me, Mom and Dad dug up yesterday. I love giving someone something for my birthday!
But, I’m still ticked off about those kids causing OB’s accident yesterday. Really pisses me off that some kids don’t have a clue…

Good morning. Taking Mr. H to Saraland to meet up with his ride for a work trip. Our old red BMW has a cracked head (confirmed yesterday) His bike is waiting for new headlights to be installed (delivered Saturday afternoon, but not installed yet). So he’s catching a ride with someone else going on this trip so that the rest of us can stick to our usual ride. (There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth when the girls thought they would have to ride the bus this week!!)
OB. Wow! I’m glad you were able to get the bike up and home. I’m impressed you could do it with a broken collar bone! You’re my hero. If they were upset at you for leaving, what did they have to say about the others? I wonder if they can find them.

OB hope you are feeling better… If those were my kids, not only would they get the lecture from the cops, and the person they hurt, they would get it double from me, car taken away and no telling what else. That is not funny and a car/bike is not a toy to play around with.

re; the kids that stopped short, the policeman was right when he said i shouldn’t have been that close to them. normally i wouldn’t have been but was headed up a hill from a complete stop and they were going slow enough that i was having to downshift just to stay upright. but i still think they thought they were being cool in the act. otherwise they wouldn’t have stopped and then sped off when i fell. guess it was better than going fast.
but if this is the worst i ever get, then i am a blessed boy.

Was raining up here this morning. Sure didn’t want to get up and come to work this morning. I’ve got too much to do and not enough time to do it though.

OB, I am so sorry you are hurt. 9 times out of 10 when a motorcycle and car collide, it’s the car’s fault. People just don’t look, just like they don’t use turn signals anymore. Earlier this year, when the back window of my car got knocked out sitting right in front of the house, I called the PD to report the damage. Two policemen came by and demanded that I go in the house and get my driver’s license to show them and then called it in. Then when their sergeant got here, they made a big production of showing him my DL. For someone who has been a licensed driver for 53 years and never had a moving violation, they didn’t get much on the call in. They did nothing about my car window, just asked me if I knew who did it. If I had known who did it, why would I call the PD to investigate? I never heard anything else from them.

4 things you might not have known about your Cell Phone
For all the folks with cell phones. (This should be printed and kept in your car, purse, and wallet. Good information to have with you.) There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies. Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that you can do with it:
FIRST (Emergency)
The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network and there is an Emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly, this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.
SECOND (Hidden Battery Power)
Imagine your cell battery is very low. To activate, press the keys *3370#. Your cell phone will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell phone next time.
THIRD (How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?) To check your mobile phone’s serial number, key in the following Digits on your phone: *#06#. A 15-digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. If your phone is stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won’t get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can’t use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

FORTH (Free Directory Service for Cells)
Cell phone companies are charging us $1.00 to $1.75 or more for 411 information calls when they don’t have to. Most of us do not carry a telephone directory in our vehicle, which makes this situation even more of a problem. When you need to use the 411 information option, simply dial: (800) FREE411 or (800) 373-3411
without incurring any charge at all. Program this into your cell phone now.

le that info on cell phones is not true. IN CASE OF EMERGENCY DIAL 911. i would hate for something serious to happen to somebody because they dialed the wrong.
before putting out bogus info as regards emergency numbers, check with your local authorities if you hear any number other than 911. on miss. highways signs say you can call star 47 for the hiway patrol. that is true, but most of the time that number goes to the local 911 operators.

Bikers-even the long haired hippie looking ones are some of the best people I know, and have every bit as much right on the road as anyone else. Some kid needs an attitude adjustment-the kind Thing 2 is getting right now.
