nice and cool this morning. MR, stop by Agricola on your way home. We’ll give you the tour!

  2. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

I’m continuing to improve, I think. Getting ready for work anyway.

    Safe travels, Marshall!

  3. Mrs. H says:

sorry I was out of touch yesterday. Since we replaced our home modem, I have had a recurring problem. Every so often, I get an error message when I try to get to this site. And it’s ONLY this site. I think it has something to do with the IP address. I can reset the IP address or do a DNS flush and that usually corrects the problem, but yesterday nothing seemed to work. This morning, I’m back. I never had this problem before and don’t have it now on my work computer. Just here.

Good Monday morning. It is race to the urologist for PD then to work, and my dentist appointment at 3:30. Nice in chilly in the house. If I expect for PD to draf from under the covers—the heater had to come on.

PD and I were watching a movie but for some reason on a Blu=ray the voices are lower than the back ground noises such as a tsumnami flooding a town. Then another episode a kid was running from some thugs and hit by a car. In slow motion it showed the actor hitting the windshield ==glass breaking. My home security alarm went off from the glass breaks in the den. Oops!!! that sound was was too loud, but at least my alarm works :)

Prayers for all the MRBA’ers that are on the mend. I hope each day gets better for you.

    • OldBopper says:

That’s funny about your security alarm going off. Wonder why a sound would set it off?

The disc you were watching must have been bad. That happens on rental discs occasionally. Hope you have a productive day sandwiched between your appointments.

    • Legal Eagle says:

Cinamatographers delight these days in filming in the dark, even on TV, and having voices that fade so low they can’t be heard by the viewing audience. Drives me crazy.

  5. parrotmom says:

Safe travels Marshall and enjoy yourself while on the coast.

Awoke at 4:30 this morning to the sound of a single beep from one of our alarms. Thought it was the smoke alarm above our bed, so PQ pulled the battery from that one. About 20 minutes later we heard it again. PQ got up and pulled the battery from one in the foyer staircase. Soon after, another beep. Aha! It was the carbon monoxide monitor. Replaced those batteries and reinstalled the ones in the smoke alarms. By then we were wide awake. About 6:20 PQ left for St. D’s for a nuclear heart scan and treadmill test. I hope she can get in the building when she gets there.

BTW, don’t think anything is really wrong, but her doctor wanted to make sure based on the complaints she was having.

Early this morning, shortly after midnight, I experienced a dramatic lessening of the pain in the collarbone area. I can now sleep on one side which means I may get some rest after all. I noted that a Saints player broke his collar bone two weeks ago and was playing on Sunday. They did surgery on him with a metal plate and screws. I sure hope he wasn’t aching when the game was over.

“Do Lord, oh do Lord, oh do remember me….” A great song itch for the start of the day!

  7. Airwolf says:

Morning friends. 37 degrees is cold after being so warm.

PM good luck in all your running around.

Coop I’m glad you’re feeling better.

OB I hope you can get a full night rest soon. I bumped my arm and woke myself up sometime in the night.

  8. dhcoop says:

Airwolf, I had an email from you this morning that looks like spam. Did you send an email out?

  9. msblondie says:

morning gang! Felt good this morning. Like the cooler mornings. But it shall be warming up come the afternoons. Walked into work and got in trouble by my mother for having sandles on with it so cold.

Hope all have a great productive day!

  10. cardinallady says:

MOrning!!! Flying through after a week off. Has been a great week of rest and getting ready for an extremely busy October. I will catch up later today or tonight or tomorrow … Will I ever catch up?

Any way, it’s good to be back at work … really. Coop when I cleaned last week I found my little green stuffed froggy. It is sitting on my night stand so I think about you every day. LOL.

Alright, got to tackle some phone calls and a visit with the supervisors. Later guys gals.

  11. Molly says:

Mornin. This is Homecoming week at NWR and each day is a “dress up” day for Spirit Week. Today is Superhero Day. Kiddo wore Superman pajama pants and a red t-shirt. She looked really cute. However, about the time I walked in the office, she called me in tears. Seems the school didn’t approve of her pajama pants and put her in In-School Suspension and I had to take her jeans to change into. I had words with the principal for punishing her for showing her spirit during Spirit Week by dressing up on a school-sanctioned dress-up day. He said that pajama pants are specifically prohibited in the school dress code. I said I saw numerous other kids there this morning with pajama pants on and they didn’t seem to be in trouble. He said there were no others. He is wrong. I was talking with one just before I walked in his office and that student said no one had a problem with her Ninja Turtle pajama pants. Anyway, when I got back to the office, I pulled up the school’s website and the policy manual. Nowhere in the dress code does it mention pajama pants. And nothing about her pajama pants violated any other tenet of their dress code. I forwarded him the language I found in their policy and asked him to show me how her clothing violated anything there. Any bets on when I will hear from him?

BTW, he did take her out of ISS and let her back in class. She was SO upset though that I doubt she will be worth anything all day. She couldn’t stop crying. Poor kid. She’s never been in trouble before and she doesn’t like it!

    • msblondie says:

Molly – understand your fustration. Most the teachers at THS could care less about the dress code unless it is excessive in voilations – they just want the kids in class. But my niece had that problem last year at McLaurin, she had one teacher that wanted to give her a tough time about her clothes when they were no different from any other students. (And this is where her mother teaches) I do hope Kiddo ends up with a better day.

    • Legal Eagle says:

My guess would be that you will hear back from him when hell freezes over, Molly. Keep after him. My youngest got in trouble one time for an injustice. Injustice just sticks in my craw and I don’t digest it at all – which was what goaded me into making a comment about a certain person yesterday.

  12. parrotmom says:

OB, if we watch a dvd the sound is perfect, but when watching a bli-ray the voices are low, but the sounds are very loud. So at times you have to adjust the audio. Also the speakers in the ceiling probably didn’t help either when the glass on the movie shattered.

MsB I also wore sandals not willing to cover my feet just yet!

    Welcome back CLady :)

    • OldBopper says:

My suggestion is to save your pennies and get an out of the box sound system. Then disable the ceiling speakers and enjoy some good sound. You can get some reasonably good boxed systems for around $250 and, for $350 you can get some that’ll knock your socks off. Just saying. One other suggestion, stay away, far away from wireless speakers.

  13. Molly says:

I did hear back from the principal. He says that teenagers are known to push the limits on dress codes. Can’t argue with that, although Kiddo has never done it. Then he said that pajama pants are meant to be worn at home and not meant for school. On any other day, I would agree that they are inappropriate, though not at all immodest. This is not “any other day;” this is a dress-up day for a special event. And, if pajama pants don’t belong at school, explain to me how boxer shorts worn outside the clothing belong at school. The school has no problem with girls wearing men’s underwear over leggings, but won’t allow full length, loose fitting pajama pants. I don’t fight with the school often, but this has really gotten under my skin today.

    • Airwolf says:

I would be pretty disturbed too Molly.

      • Molly says:

I typed a really long, though non-confrontational, email to him, asking him again just what policy she violated. I want it pointed out to me because I can’t find it. And I asked how this was worse than the boxer shorts. Then I deleted my email. I know it really is a minor issue and I decided to just drop it. I don’t want to cause problems for Kiddo down the road by being labeled a “problem parent” but at the same time I would love to know how we are supposed to know the unwritten rules that he insists on enforcing.

        • cardinallady says:

Molly, want to get his attention? Call ALL the members of your school board, then email all of them what you found. If the school policy needs clarified, they are the ones to do it, otherwise, he needs to treat ALL students alike. Make sure there are two or three witnesses on your side as to the others that wore pajama pants too.

  15. Mrs. H says:

Ooooo!!! I’ve been requested to make a giant hand out of pool noodles for school virtue day tomorrow! Creativity is the virtue. I’ll post pictures later!

Have I said lately how much I love my job?

    • OldBopper says:

I love it! Give the girl a challange and she cranks into high gear. I’m sure you will do a great job. Take pictures.

  16. Legal Eagle says:

    MrsH, what are pool noodles?

  17. Legal Eagle says:

Amanda Knox and her boyfriend, Rafael S….., have been acquitted in Italy.

  18. parrotmom says:

Evening everyone. OB thanks for the advise.

  19. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

Stopped by Chopsticks and picked up Hot & Sour Soup and some General Tso chicken. About to chow down and watch DWTS!

  20. parrotmom says:

Watched a really good movie starring Michael Caine tonight.

  21. Legal Eagle says:

We watched Terra Nova, 2 1/2 Men, Mike & Molly, and The Playboy Club.

  22. Clucky says:

I do not want to go to AR and back alone. I get sleepy driving, and at least in MY car, it’s a standard so I have to shift gears. I can also drop the top, which keeps me wide awake. I have to use the company car with the cruise control. This could end badly. Mr Fab can’t take off to go like he did last year, and his back couldn’t handle the 8-9 hour drive each way. I don’t wanna go :(
