Good morning everyone and happy Monday. Gee can’t believe Thanksgiving is so close. I know I have lots to be thankful even with what we are going through now. Pd is running fever and they are keeping some type plastic feeling blanket over him. It can be used to warm a body if the temp is too cool, but can be used in PD’s situation to cool him his fever down The surgeon said that they had already started him on anti- expecting the pneumia to set in.

Everyone have a grest day snd I will be joining the workforce again one day, just waiting for “G” (daughter) to decide when she will be returning to the coast.

Good morning: prayers and love for PD and PM, and happy World Diabetes Day!

  4. Mrs. H says:

    Good morning.

Still praying for you, PM & PD.

A bit damp here in George County. Got misted on during our walk this morning, which was filled with wedding talk today :)

Going to take off early today so I can go with the eldest to get her ring sized. The little plastic thingy is just not very attractive.

    Morning!

    Prayers for PD and PM.

    Most Gracious Heavenly Father,

We come to you this morning asking your blessings upon Parrot Dad and Parrot Mom. We pray you to give the medical team the knowledge and expertise necessary to restore health to our ill friend. We pray you will take them both in your loving arms to provide them with comfort and peace. And Lord we ask you to be with their family teaching them the importance of supporting each other.

Where possible, make Parrot Dad stronger and ease his discomfort. Give Parrot Mom the strength she needs to cope with the situation at hand. Give her the love and hope necessary to endure this hardship.

These things we ask through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who unselfishly gave of himself that we may have the blessing of everlasting life.

    Amen.

I was a Navy Hospital Corpsman in Viet Nam. Though I served on a Hospital Ship, Navy Corpsmen also double as Marine Corps Medics. As a result, I was able to take Prom Queen to a Marine Corps Ball while on active duty at the Naval Hospital in Millington, Tennessee. I remember the following day, I had duty in the hospital emergency room.

Anyway, I was brought to tears this morning reading about Justin Timberlake’s attendance at a Marine Corps Ball. What a great read!

My dad was in the Marine Corps in World War II. He joined the Marine Corps Reserve after that and during the Korean War, his unit was called to Camp Pendleton, California, where we lived for almost a year when I was 7. We saw TV for the first time at the NCO Club and all the marines would turn on the cowboy shows when I walked in. When we came home, my dad was the oldest marine in his unit and would always get the first piece of birthday cake at the birthday ball, which he would give to me. I remember the birthday balls with great affection.

morning gang! This weather is just plain crazy.. never like it when it is like this hot cold and chance of storms.

Continue prayers for PM and PD.

    Everyone have a great day!

Just got a call from a tearful Em: she had a fender-bender in the school parking lot. The eldest reminded me that she did the same thing about 6 years ago. I informed her that the same thing happened to me in 1976, just after I got my license. That’s why Em drives an older truck instead of the new car she wanted.

We just got back from the third Monday’s appointment at the vet. Our fur baby is feeling better, but got more steroids and muscle relaxers, but won’t have to take these as often. We are just having to crate her a lot more to keep her from jumping on and off the bed and getting her neck gimped up more. She’s about 8 now and getting a lot of white hair around her mouth and face, so she probably has arthritis to go along with it. She has slept between us since we got her nearly 7 years ago, but we are having to crate her at night now.

  12. parrotmom says:

LE glad the pup is doing better sorry you are having to crate her more often, but it is for her own good. Not that they understand sometimes.

  13. parrotmom says:

They have had PD off the Hypo-tensive meds this was to raise his blood pressure since it had been running very low. They are in hopes they will be able to transport for his CT scan this afternoon without any problems.

  14. Legal Eagle says:

I certainly hope so, PM. From what you have said, it would give them a better idea of what’s wrong and more guidance on how to fix it.

We just got back from trying City Limits for the first time and the hype is 100% true. It was absolutely delicious, way better than Bill’s Produce or any of the other lunch places around this area. They are located on Highway 80 in Pearl, on the north side, just east of where Pearson Road and Highway 80 meet. Their nearest competition, Blues Country Cooking, locked their doors about a week after City Limits opened theirs and Blues went out of business. I had chicken tetrizinni, mustard greens, broccoli and cheese, banana pudding and tea. They also have a printed menu and hamburger steak is on it. They are open from early morning until 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. They soon plan to open on Sundays for lunch. Lunches are 1 meat, 2 vegetables, bread, dessert and drink for $6.95, or $7.50 with tax. They also had chicken on a stick and meat loaf today. I would highly recommend the food. They have a full breakfast and lunch menu also.

You should be compensated for that endorsement, Leagle…jusy sayin’.

      • parrotmom says:

        I agree with you Blues!

      • Legal Eagle says:

Their phone number is 601-420-2233. Perhaps you could call Cissy and tell her a need a complementary hamburger steak platter. (Hugs to my friends!) I introduced BE and myself to her and bragged on their food, met the cook and bragged on her cooking, and took 2 go menus with me to show around. In fact, you folks working downtown could call and order and zip over the old river bridge on Silas Brown, pick up lunch, and zip back.

  15. parrotmom says:

Woohoo he made down and back for the CT scan. We saw him for a few minutes after 3 and he was very agitated and blood pressure and heart rate were racing. So the traveling was upsetting to him. We are now waiting anxiously to talk with the doctors to find out the results. Thanks again for Bella Sera for stopping by for a few minutes to check on us :)

  16. Mrs. H says:

    I’ll 2nd that, MsB.

  17. Mrs. H says:

I discovered that there is a dashboard indicator light on my car for hydroplaning! I knew it before I noticed the indicator, too.

  18. OldBopper says:

Went to the Capitol this morning to find out where the Republican Caucus was meeting today. Big secret. Anyway I found out they were meeting at Brandon City Hall to select their candidate for Speaker of the House. I sat with the news media until the meeting concluded and the press was allowed in. As you probably know by now it is Phillip Gunn from Clinton. Now to see how the committee assignments play out. This is not a good year to be a Democrat in the Mississippi Legislature. The Democrats locked the Republicans out of committee chairmanships the last four years and probably will be treated the same during the next four years.

  19. OldBopper says:

PM, which hospital is PD in?

The weather is supposed to be reasonably pretty again tomorrow. I may take advantage of it for a long, long ride. Rode up to Ratliff Ferry on Sunday afternoon. A lot of bikers go there but I found it to be a depressing place. Not too interested in returning. Now Shuckers….that’s a fine place to go! Happy people inside and out.

    • Legal Eagle says:

BE has a bike that he wanted to sell a few years ago and we rode up there during a bike rally where he did sell it. I never noticed until that day how many biker dudes ride around with their “daughters.” Heh!

  20. dhcoop says:

    Evenin! It’s DWTS time!

  21. parrotmom says:

OB we are at Crossgates River oaks.

  22. parrotmom says:

Evening I know I should be in bed like everyone else. Clucky thank you for stopping by this evening after your own appointment that was so very sweet. I wished I could say all was well. I do feel as though PD is improving even though he has a apoxiec(sp) stroke a neurologist feels as if he is having seizures and is starting him on Dilantin in hopes to do an EEG tomorrow. The neurosurgeon felt that the CT of the neck was good and of the brain yes a stroke from lack of oxygen to the brain but felt he could recover some from this, but no one can say how long or how much and I understand this. Another can hear not very optimistic from one doctor out of 5 or 6 and take it to mean death!!! I know this is a possibility, but when you have all but one saying how much improvement which line do you follow and not on death? I need to explain this to a 30 something?

  23. Clucky says:

I got in a good visit with PM this evening. She looks good-she must thrive on stress!

Well….I’ll be having cervical spine surgery sometime in the next month. The disc is herniating into my spinal cord. Not cool. I’ll keep y’all posted.

Hugs for Ace; his favorite kitty died today :( That kid is growing up so fast!
