    Mornin

Another sinus headache. Excuse me while I pluck my eyeballs out…

Leagle, I don’t have an email from you. Did you send it to my yahoo mail or work? Having trouble with my yahoo.

    • Legal Eagle says:

I’m not sure, but I wasn’t told the rest of the story until this morning, so it’s not something that falls under any of my business after all.

  2. parrotmom says:

Good morning Everyone!!! The grown children and I had fun last night playing Texasholdem on the iPhones. I did some chatting and had them laughing their buts off. They decided I was a flitter, but I am not just haing what I consider clean fun not hurting anyone.

LE prayers for this MRBA family member, believe me I know how tough some things can be. I have been up another morning at 4:15 am. At least my kittie girls are enjoying the freedom in the house before the monsters attack later.

I am worried in so many ways about PD’s transfer, the confirmation of the “C” word. Then him not being in ICU without nurses checking on you more than a regular room would allow. Although I understand that different hospitals have a stepdown unit from ICU before you are thrown to the actual floor level.

Prayers and hugs to all and you need to finish up that final shopping only a few days left.

  3. parrotmom says:

Coop don’t pluck your eyeballs out!!! I hope you get to feeling better as the morning continues.

  4. Clucky says:

PM, has it been confirmed that “C” has returned?

Gotta run. I commented on yesterday’s FFA. Oops.

  5. Molly says:

Mornin. Kiddo’s first solo outing was successful. She had no problems, just tons of traffic to deal with. When I got home from work, hubby had already been chugging Pepto Bismol.

  6. Mrs. H says:

Molly, Do you live in the Jackson area? I’m so glad we’re in George County for the girls to drive in. Not much traffic, and when there is, it’s all going exactly where you are going (to school and home from school). I had to drive on Airport Blvd in Mobile yesterday and was frazzled when I got home. Satan himself had to have helped design the parking lot for the shopping center across from Bel Aire Mall.

    • Molly says:

Yes, I am in the reservoir area. She was at Dogwood Festival yesterday which is quite possibly the busiest shopping center in the area. Tomorrow she wants to go to Rennaisance in Ridgeland which is also crazy, but it is set up so that once you park, you don’t get back in the car until time to go home. She will take routes other than the interstate.

  7. msblondie says:

    morning gang!

weather is playing nasty with my head this morning. shall see how the day goes.

    everyone have a great day!

  8. OldBopper says:

Mawnin’ y’all. Really slept in this morning. Didn’t get up until 7:30. Prayers for PD for a quick and successful transfer.

Prayers for our member in need. This is the worst season to have family difficulties.

MrsH, I told PQ that the engineers at MDOT have nightmares and turn them into intersections and on/off ramps. Want to go right, exit to the left and vice versa. That one usually causes multiple wrecks and deaths. Having the same 50 yards set aside for entering and exiting an interstate. I call’em suicide lanes. Anybody ever think of putting a street light where railroad tracks intersect a state aid road? It would help to see the train before your lights hit the reflective tape on the box cars. Creating an intersection solely for WalMart with a stop light instead of making them use the frontage roads. Trust me, if WalMart wants to build a store in a location, they will do it regardless of direct highway access. Goodness, I could go on, but you get the idea. You would think the former director would have learned something on his jaunts to Germany. At least he is finally out of the position.

Ahem, stepping down from my soapbox. Have a good one y’all.

    • Airwolf says:

Butch didn’t design anything, those are the design and construction engineers wet dreams!

    • Legal Eagle says:

After being involved in Walmart and Walgreens construction projects, I can safely say that they both employ the most arrogant ass***** anyone would ever want to work with.

  9. cardinallady says:

Morning! Is it Tuesday already? Monday was soooo long I should be asking if it’s Wednesday. Been busy breaking in a new editor. I have him all by myself now. Gotta fly!

  10. parrotmom says:

We are soon to leave to go back to Brandon, still no word on a room at the Inn (St. D) dang I want the answers this week not next week or the first of the year. Lord, I need patience why the rush. I need to enjoy my time today.

  11. dhcoop says:

I still haven’t gotten an email about an MRBA member in need. Can someone please forward it to my work? Apparently, the spam that hit my yahoo account has killed it. I’ll try to fix it tonight when I get to Gtown. Big Sis is in KO for the week with Mom-n-them so I’m going to keep an eye on things down there for her (and pick up the things she forgot!) .

  12. blues4you says:

    Hey y’all.

Coming to you LIVE from The Big Thicket of east Texas. Been here since saturday. Just now have established communications. Weather is craptastic. Used 4 WD to get in to the location today.

Prayers for PM/PD and clucks and any other of the commentariat in distress.

  13. Airwolf says:

Morning, just got back from picking Bear up at school, he finished his 9 week tests and is out until next year. Baby Darling is out doing her thing shopping.

    Prayers and hugs all around.

  14. Legal Eagle says:

We woke up this morning to a big crash on the roof and no, it wasn’t Santa Claus. A big limb fell on the roof and hit it right at the seam and split the trailer. BE went to his former employer and got a couple of tarps to try to cover it before the rains come.

  15. Mrs. H says:

Our big rain just hit. Mr. H took his mom to have the other cataract removed this morning. He’s been back at work for several hours now, so everything must have been like clockwork. I know she’ll be glad to have vision that is symmetrical.

  16. parrotmom says:

In answer to Clucky. No confirmation for the big “C”. We can’t seem to get him transferred yet. They told us about an hour ago that they will be moving him to regular room, not close enough to the nurses station for my liking considering he can’t use a nurses button. He looks at a tv hand controller as if it is a foreign object. They know my fear about the floor nurses. I think they are being jerks. Last word from St D should have this afternoon.

  17. blues4you says:

Sorry to hear about the limb, legal. Hope the damage can be fixed without too much difficulty.

    Hang in there, PM.

Yes, I just finished off the bread pudding w/bourbon sauce that I brought from home. Often imitated, never duplicated. I do believe I nailed it this time though. Wish I coulda brought more goodies from home to eat. Didn’t have money or time to make very many treats this year.

  18. Legal Eagle says:

To those of you who are cooking at this time of the year. You know who you are. How about sharing those recipes with us for the MRBA recipe collection? We need your input because without you, we are nothing.

The maintenance man over here told BE he saw a squirrel run down that limb and then the limb fell on our house. We may be having roasted squirrel for Christmas dinner. If so, I will provide the recipe, with and without the stuffing.

  19. OldBopper says:

LOL Eagle! Glad you can find some humor in a terrible situation. Sure hope you can get it repaired.

Been baking more Cheese Wafers. Then decided to have some afternoon coffee. Hmmm, Bailey’s with the coffee sounded good. Uh oh, no Bailey’s so I decided on Kahlua. Poured a shot of Kahlua, then coffee and topped it with whipped cream. Pretty good stuff!

Since it is the Christmas Season and we have cold weather coming in, I think it is time to break out the Gluhwein! That’ll warm your innards on a cold winter day. AW can attest to it.

    • Airwolf says:

      Gluhwein oder Jägermeister! Good stuff!

    • Legal Eagle says:

Personally, I like Kahlua and don’t like Bailey’s, so it sounds good to me.

My fear right now with BE’s big a** perched on the roof, we are in danger of having a much bigger hole than any of the ones the branch caused. He would be the one if he’s not careful who could connect the holes.

Speaking of that Kahlua, how about sending your St. Bernard over with a keg full. I may need it.

  20. dhcoop says:

    I wish I had some cheese wafers…:(

  21. parrotmom says:

I have wood ready to lite in the fireplace and the wood of is full. Will be making speghetti for supper this evening once home.

I saw the case/social worker when I went to see PD’s room. Appears my concerns were heard so he was not moved from Iccu. Still waiting :(

  22. parrotmom says:

Dang LegalE one heavy squirrel. So sorry for the problems.

  23. msblondie says:

    Afternoon folks…
LE – OH NO! not how you wanted your day to go for sure. We were lucky last year when the limb that fell on our house did no damage. But it did scare us.

Blues – glad you back with us bud! Understand the wish for more goodies – Daddy would always said he never packed enough.

PM – glad your concerns were heard. I know the waiting part is tough.

Not sure what supper will be tonight.. no one has given input. I have 10 mini loaves of bread to finish tonight and chocolate candy for my work gifts. By the time I finish baking Friday/Saturday I will have done close to 60 loaves of bread (granted most of these are mini loaves).

everyone have a good evening and may the bad weather pass us by.

  24. dhcoop says:

Just looked at the radar. Looks like the rain is going to hit at just about the same time as everyone is trying to get home. Yay us!

  25. Clucky says:

I almost choked at AW’s comment following OB’s re: traffic. I know we are all adults, but it just surprised me!!

Thinking I may hold MF’s hand tonight and sing “Precious Memories.”
    Sigh.

  26. Legal Eagle says:

I fell asleep with the rain this afternoon. It was almost like listening to a waterfall. No, don’t go there. I do not, repeat do not, need a natural waterfall coming into the bathroom ceiling. BE got the tarps up before the rain came and he thinks he may have a piece of tin over at our if we ever get over there piece of land off I-20 West. (You didn’t have to read that twice, did you? I know I did.)

BE got a good deal at China-Mart a while ago, a Trifesta pack with pepperoni pizza, cheesy bread, hot wings, marinara sauce and ranch dressing for $10.00. It’s not bad for the price.

  27. OldBopper says:

    Cheese Wafers

2/3 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese.
    1/3 cup shredded Parmesan cheese.
    3/4 cup all purpose flower
    1/4 cup chopped pecans
    1 teaspoon rubbed sage
    1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper
    1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter cut into small pieces

Position knife blade in food processor bowl; add first 6 ingredients.
Process 10 seconds until well blended.
Slowly drop butter, one piece at a time, through food chute with processor running, blending just until mixture forms a ball.

Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.
Cut with a 1 inch round cutter and place on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes or until edges are golden.
Remove to wire racks to cool.
    Yield: 4 dozen

Note: Original recipe calls for just shredded Cheddar cheese. The addition of Parmesan gives it a slightly different taste.
