  2. OldBopper says:

Mawnin’ y’all. 6:50 on my clock. Will probably go to the Capitol for the swearin’ and meet and greet folks. My part time job will require me to be there most days anyway.

  3. OldBopper says:

Clucky, PQ said if you want that dress form, you need to come get it. She’s ready to throw it away.

  4. dhcoop says:

    Mornin

I think I’m back among the living. That crud whipped my butt. Coughed so much I think I pulled a muscle in my stomach.

    But feeling much better today.

    Happy Belated Birthday to PQ!

  5. Airwolf says:

Good morning! 21 degrees in the hill country. I don’t have a lot to do. Would like to have seen the legislature sworn in. I’m just to lazy to drive down.

I hope everyone has a good day.

AW it was different, very different. The new Speaker quoted Bible verse after Bible verse, after Bible verse, after Bible verse and inferred it was God’s will that he was selected Speaker of the House. Then his minister stood up and gave the longest prayer I have ever heard in my life. It seemed like it was 8 or 9 minutes long.

Of course you could always watch it on line….ditto for the Governor and Lt. Governor swearing in and subsequent speeches.

  6. Molly says:

Mornin. My voice is back! A little bit croaky, but back. Still have tons of drainage and I can’t take my medicine to dry that up, well not and stay upright anyway. That stuff knocks me out in a hurry.

  7. msblondie says:

morning gang! brrrr. So didn’t want to get up can come back to work today.

hope everyone has a great day!

    Good morning, happy January 3rd.

Coop glad you are better and on the mend. Clucky prayers for you this week. Maybe we will still be there maybe not. He developed a staph infection on his sputum so still waiting to see what kind. Hoping not the really bad one. They are also doing a CT of his lungs. They have been saying he has had pneumonia for 7 weeks. It seems timelda to make sure not scar tissue or anything else since in the lower lobes. I made it to work on time, slept om my own couch with my kittie girls inside for protection.
I also saw two deer leaving my neighbors yard at 5:30 am. Of course I thought that was super cool. The time is 8:28 am.

  9. Crystalbutterfly says:

    hey all!!!
hope that all the sick folks stay on the mend
I go back to work on Thursday just for part time for a few weeks hope that I don’t go back to the mess that I did the last time I was off this long. I have decided unless I have no control over it I am not going to have any surgery in 2012 the last 4 years I have had to have a surgery of some kind

I just hope those legislators putting their hands on the Bible and swearing to tell the truth and do the right thing doesn’t bring on a catastrophic lightening storm or that the hot winds that they blow don’t cause any tornados.

Hugs, greetings and blessings to all of you in MR Land. OB, tell PQ happy belated birthday from the old eagle. Yesterday was jammed up. First, I didn’t get home till 2:00 a.m., then had to get up calling to set up the Thursday game, then had to be in Crossgates at noon for a game with the new players. One gets a back ache if she sits too long; one has knees that lock up when she sits too long; and the other is in a wheelchair. Yesterday, by the time they turned me loose, I got home and had missed the first 30 minutes of the new Bachelor. I’m glad they are enthusiastic enough about learning to play bridge to forget their aches that long and have fun.

Good evening to all. Prayers for all who need them. I had a wonderful New Year’s week-end . Watch the Saints play a wonderful game Sunday. Love hanging out in New Orleans. Glad to be home but would love to go back and watch them beat the Lions Saturday night. Hope all have a safe trip home

  14. cardinallady says:

Marshall!! Your first estimation of Tuesday (about the Legislature) MUST be a cartoon son.

Hey, how is everybody doing? Well CardinalSon got all registered for college today, classes start tomorrow. He is going three days a week. Mon, Wed. and Friday. His long day is Monday – 8:30 a.m. -9:30 p.m. And the other two days are 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. so they aren’t so bad. He is a little bummed because there is no room in the dorms, but … I told him it is all in God’s hands and perhaps he is supposed to drive this semester.

  15. parrotmom says:

Hi Bella, I sent you an email on a cousin of mine that passed on new years eve.

  16. msblondie says:

  17. Barb says:

    Evening, everyone.
Coop and Molly, glad ya’ll are on the mend. CB, take it easy getting back in the swing of things at work.
Prayers continue for PM, PD, and Clucky.

  18. parrotmom says:

Clucky are you still seeing the same doc as PD? !is your surgery Friday?

It seems New Years Eve when PD was running fever that one of his cultures came back for staph—MRSA. Great !!!

  19. dhcoop says:

I feel like my lower abdomen is going to explode when I cough, but other than that, I am great.

PM, sorry to hear about the staph. Maybe they can get it under control quickly.

    Wednesday, January 4, 2012, 2:30 a.m.
    First!

We went to a noon seminar yesterday that was supposed to be an hour and a half. We got out around 4:30 and we were starving by that time. We went to the Azteca for comfort food, shrimp chimachanga for me and rio grande burrito for BE, and the folks at Azteca have done some beautiful table tops. They used tile and artwork and sealed the tops and each table is different. One has Speedy Gonzales and a bottle with the Azteca name and 1987 as the starting date for the restaurant. One has Mexican money and a wanted poster for Poncho Villa and another poster on it and each one is unique.

We got home and I was watching something on TV when I found myself asleep before 9:00 when Unforgettable came on so I missed it. I woke up at almost 1:00 and here I am, playing computer games. I don’t have to be anywhere until 9:15 in the morning and then 12:30 after that, so I may or may not go back to sleep. I probably need to start another book.

  21. Legal Eagle says:

In the last two weeks, I have read the following books:
    1. Whiplash by Catherine Coulter
    2. Beachcomber by Karen Robards
    3. Paradise County by Karen Robards
    4. Toys by James Patterson; read it when it came out and read it again
    5. The Long Road Home by Mary Alice Monroe
