Second! Behind Legal who posted on yesterday’s FFA. Up early this morning as I went to bed earlier than usual last evening. Awake at 4 am. Think I will watch the Legislative proceedings on the internet today. Not much will be happening until committees are formed.

Morning everyone, not sure if I am late or early. Went to bed about 2:00 am, PD had a rough night if I were not present he would have aspirated or strangled. This happened about 9:30 or so, finally after midnight they have him phenergran and other stomach meds, and the rest of his night time knock out meds. I am heading back soon to see that he is ok. Also other questions regarding CT of lungs, was the first time I had a report that said it may be this, this, or this?? you decide.

Morning! UP and running. It has been a glorious morning. I kissed CardinalSon goodbye at 6:30 a.m. Then went back to bed to sleep a little more, or tried to. Didn’t succeed. I was at a late meeting last night so I took a little time this morning. Finally crawled out of bed at 7 and let the chickens out.

Then enjoyed coffee and conversation with my favorite cousin who lives in the mid west. So my morning got off to a great start. Now I need to run my sheriff down … oh wait! I didn’t mean that the way it sounded.

  9. Molly says:

Mornin. I feel quite a bit better. I just need to get rid of all this drainage.
Sorry PD had a bad night, but it is a good thing you were there for him. I know you have to be exhausted.

Trying an experiment at lunch. Making tacos with lentils instead of meat. Using lettuce instead of tortillas. One of my boys is not eating meat for 6 weeks, so it inspired me to try something different. (Plus, I had the lentils and taco seasoning at the office and Big Sis left a couple of heads of lettuce, some cheese and an onion in the fridge.) Just tasted the psuedo-taco meat and it’s good!

11:40 a.m. I just decided to stay up last night since I didn’t start getting sleepy until it was too late to go back to bed and still make our 9:15 appointment. We stopped back by Chik-fil-A and had breakfast biscuits, hash browns and coffee. I love their hash browns and their biscuits are good too, especially with bacon (or sausage in BE’s case), egg and cheese and on them.

In case you missed my post this morning:

    First!

We went to a noon seminar yesterday that was supposed to be an hour and a half. We got out around 4:30 and we were starving by that time. We went to the Azteca for comfort food, shrimp chimachanga for me and rio grande burrito for BE, and the folks at Azteca have done some beautiful table tops. They used tile and artwork and sealed the tops and each table is different. One has Speedy Gonzales and a bottle with the Azteca name and 1987 as the starting date for the restaurant. One has Mexican money and a wanted poster for Poncho Villa and another poster on it and each one is unique.

We got home and I was watching something on TV when I found myself asleep before 9:00 when Unforgettable came on so I missed it. I woke up at almost 1:00 and here I am, playing computer games. I don’t have to be anywhere until 9:15 in the morning and then 12:30 after that, so I may or may not go back to sleep. I probably need to start another book.

In the last two weeks, I have read the following books:
    1. Whiplash by Catherine Coulter
    2. Beachcomber by Karen Robards
    3. Paradise County by Karen Robards
    4. Toys by James Patterson; read it when it came out and read it again
    5. The Long Road Home by Mary Alice Monroe

Been removing the lights from a pre-lighted Christmas tree. Most of them went out this year and I’d rather put on new strings than chase down the bad bulbs or fuses whichever is the case. But, wow, it’s a task getting them off.

Gawd Coop! Lentils and taco seasoning sounds like the “squirts” to me. Oh my!

  13. dhcoop says:

    It was actually quite tasty!!

  14. msblondie says:

time to wrap it up.. been a busy but productive day.

    everyone have a great evening.

  15. Barb says:

OB, in response to your response to “The Capitol”…I vaguely remember some scandal attached to the governor you mentioned. Is that why he’s not there?

  16. Clucky says:

The squirts. I never know what to expect from you, OB :) I missed the dress form comment! If Mr Fab doesnt ride with me tomorrow, I’ll try to pick it up while I’m in town. I have to swing by River Oaks to get a CD of that last test I had done, then ne at the clinic by CMMC at 10. We’ll hopefully set a date at that time. Today hasn’t been too good. I didn’t get home until 11 last night, and was up yest. a.m. At 430. Made for a long day, and it’s hit me hard today.I’m in bed in my jammies already.

Help! Surely someone can tell me where I can take some antiques to sell!

  17. Katie says:

Google – where can you sell antiques in MS

There is/was an antique dealer in Aberdeen, MS

  18. Crystalbutterfly says:

    hey all!!!
need to vent—-as you may or may not know I am going back to work tomorrow just part time I will be working 8 am until 12 noon for about 5 weeks—well I went to talk to my boss today to make sure that everything was set for tomorrow and he tells me that UMC has laid off some people 4 in our department and one of them was the girl that was doing the job I did before I became an Administrative Assistant 1 and one of the supervisors has decide that the Pharmacist and tech can’t answer the phone so I am going to have to do the job for the 4 hours that I am there I just don’t understand they can answer the phone after I leave but not while I am there my boss said that it is only for a little while well I will do it for the time that I am part time but when I go back full time I am going to tell him that I want to do my job and not a job that has been done away with thanks for letting me vent!!!

    • dhcoop says:

CB, Vents-R-Us!! Sometimes a good vent just helps. I know I’ve used it a few times…

      • Crystalbutterfly says:

thanks Coop I just don’t understand some of the people that I work with—oh well God is in control!!

      • Legal Eagle says:

Hell, I vented to a black woman I had never laid eyes on before when I happened to pass her while walking for a hour and a half looking for BE’s construction paper. I thought I had outgrown buying construction paper. I finally asked some school kids where it was. I can vent a lot better here though; she just happened to get lucky this afternoon.

  19. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!!

Just had a great conversation with my Uncle H. I called him about a bird (size of an eagle with a white chest) that one of my “boys” witnessed this weekend shredding a squirrel about 60 feet up in a pine tree. I was perplexed by the white chest, and didn’t want to even offer the fact that osprey have a white chest, because I didn’t think we had any in central Mississippi (I know they are on the coast). After talking to my Uncle, I found out we DO have a very limited number of osprey nesting here. (Its a HUGE bird with a white chest, and my friend lives within a mile or so from the Pearl River (they nest near/on water). I was excited to tell my friend what he had seen, which is extremely rare here.

In other news, my Uncle wants to write a book about birding. I volunteered to type for him. He’s going to send me a couple of chapters he has written. Y’all make a note…a best seller for birders is forthcoming!!

  20. parrotmom says:

Evening everyone. Having a good nite with PD.

CB do sorry for the crap at work and to think you haven’t even officially started back yet. I hope tomorrow goes well for you.

    • Crystalbutterfly says:

thanks PM I am not going to let them stress me out I just have to keep reminding my self it is only for 4 hours minus my 15 break and any other times I decide that I have to go to the bathroom. :)

  21. Crystalbutterfly says:

just want to remind all of you that I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!! ya’ll are the best!!!
and a very special thank you to MR for giving us this place to come and talk to each other

  22. Clucky says:

CB, I just saw the news about the layoffs. I
Hope our mutual hasn’t been affected!

  23. Legal Eagle says:

I still haven’t been back to bed. I’ve been too busy today to think about it. After I left the senior center this afternoon, I had to stop at Wal-Mart to get BE some construction paper and we were out of coffee, so it was really necessary. But the construction paper referenced previously took me about a hour and a half to find. I’ve been up since 1:00 this morning and it’s now 11:00 p.m., so I won’t be up much longer, just long enough to put the rest of this chicken pie I made in the refrigerator.

  24. OldBopper says:

Barb, during the campaign the other party tried to convince the public that Allain was homosexual. Even his ex wife came to his rescue to tell the public he was not. A few months after the election, I was going to the Governor’s Mansion and got into a discussion with the gate guard about the subject. He said he was positive the Governor was straight because of all the women who came in with him at night who stayed for the evening.

Clucky, if by chance I’m not at home when you come by, I’ll leave the form outside under the carport. PQ is headed to McComb in the morning and I really don’t know my schedule. I’m hoping not to go to the Capitol.

  25. OldBopper says:

Clucky, if you do get by, stop at the store on the corner across from the Statue in Downtown Brandon. That lady may be able to advise you on the antiques. It’s next to the store that has brick crosses on the facade.
