Mawnin’ y’all. My basement water alarm sounded about 5 am this morning. I had a hard time sleeping last night and was already up and waiting for it to trigger. Been up since 2:30 this morning.
Hope everybody has a safe drive in today.
It was very rainy at 4:15 when I was driving in. There was ground fog on the Natchez Trace and I was thankful that the deer were bedded down and trying to avoid the rain. Sorry about your basement. That would drive me bats.
When I turned into my driveway last night, there was a large doe standing in my yard. She bolted across the driveway in front of my truck.
I had a large buck blow at me last night when I went out on the porch. I blew back and he took off running and blowing. I guess he thought I was the bigger buck. heh
I had a similar problem when I first bought this house. Gutter downspouts were dumping water around the foundation. Extended the downspouts away from the house and no more problems.
Morning folks. Heavy rain woke me at 5.
Lost a dear friend yesterday, 68 years old. He had had some cardiac issues but was doing well. I sat beside him in church last Sunday. His wife came home at lunch and found him. We took food and spent some time with his family last night. I’m still in shock over his loss.
I hope your day is pleasant!
I’m so sorry, dear!
So sorry, AW.
AW so sorry for the loss of a friend they do seem to disappear before you know it.
OB sorry for the basement issues again. I know you will have one long day.
Happy Hump day everybody. Hope it is good to you
Mornin. Thought I would speak before it gets too crazy at the office. I have a feeling its gonna be a long day.
So sorry about your friend, AW.
Mornin!
Got another busy one myself.
quick morning gang! busy day for me. just i need to get moving. rather be at home snuggled up.
aw sorry for ya friend.
I have a couple of wet vacs we use in the basement. One of them has a pump built in and will pick up the water and then pump it out through a garden hose. When that one is working correctly, I can turn it on and just keep close enough to hear it. It changes it’s pitch when it finishes with the water and I try to cut it off soon thereafter. When that one is not working correctly, I use the regular one and have two tubs for it. When one tub gets full, I switch the motor to the other tub and use the pump vac to empty the first tub.
Not much I can do about the water since it’s from an underground spring. When it quits raining on a regular basis, it will usually handle a regular rainfall without rising enough to come into the basement. It’s only when we get rain several times over a short period (week to 10 days) that it causes a problem.
Checking in. Recovering..good day to sleep late-which I did :P
AW, sorry about the loss of your friend.
A schoolmate’s ex husband and father of her kids died earlier this week. Not sure of his age, but she might be 40. Their son is autistic. How do you tell your kids their daddy is gone and never coming back?
PS: if you remember hwsturd, she had a whopping 9 lb 7 oz baby girl this morning :)
Susanqflamingo had her baby boy a week or two ago.
I saw on Facebook that there would be a baby today. Didn’t know it was going to be so large a baby! Kiddo was 8 lb 10 oz. I don’t know what to do with tiny ones. They scare me. I trust this baby girl is all healthy and mom is fine.
Since the NFL is extremely proprietary about the use of the term Super Bowl, our church is having several Superb Owl get-togethers this Sunday afternoon.
Cute!
Neat!
Great name!
finally getting my head above my desk to breath. I think this is the quickest I have gotten sales and commissions figured for the sales team – usually takes 2 days have done it in 6 hours today. I credit to finally getting some processes down smoothly. but it wears out a brain.
Headed to church this evening. We are having a chili throwdown and I’m entering mine. Probably won’t win anything, but it will be fun.
Went to the Capitol about noon and got home about 30 minutes ago.
I like that Superb Owl too!!
The chili throw down is over. Fourteen contestants and I was fortunate enough to take first place.
Way to go!!
Awesome!
Evenin!
A little late checking in. Got caught up in AI and other mindless TV.
Poppy took her first steps today!! She’s only 8 months old! A is freaking out a bit, but excited that it was her hubby that witnessed it. Little bugger is going to be running before we know it!
Work has been crazy busy, but fun, this week. Now, back to more mindless TV.
AW, I am really sorry about your friend.
OB, congrats on the chili win!
