Wouldn’t have to do hills today. Good morning folks. Our beautiful weather has morphed into a cloudy, blustery, cold day. Not much incentive to do things outdoors today. Hope everybody has a great Friday.

    Mornin!

It was definitely a “two hands on the wheel” drive in this morning! Very windy!

  3. msblondie says:

    morning gang! happy friday!

  4. Airwolf says:

Morning gang! We had a nice celebration for Baby Darling last evening. I ate too much as usual.

Cold and windy today. Pepper and I are just chilling this morning. I hope your day is great!

Weatherbug says the high today is supposed to be 72, but we will see. I wore shorts yesterday, but don’t know what I will wear today.

Some of the women in my high school graduating class are doing lunch today at 11:30 and if I’m going to find this place, I’m going to have to leave by about 10:30 to start looking. It’s at the Trace Grill, which is somewhere on Highway 51 North. Can any of you recommend anything in particular on the menu or tell me anything about finding it?

Y’all continue to be in my prayers!

Morning again at 10:08 am. Another eventful morning and some nurse doesn’t have a clue as to what his job is and when to draw blood? That’s all I will say about that.

  7. Molly says:

Mornin. PM, what did you find out about PD’s wrist?
Legal, that 72 degrees was EARLY. It was 70 at 6:00 when I got up and headed down. It is now 55.

  8. Clucky says:

Mornin. First day all week I have been awake “early”. I know, MR was probably up 6 hours ago. I’ve actually been up since 7 this morning, but unproductive.
CP, many prayers for you and Orville.
MrsH, I think y’all are on the right track; cowbells would be AWESOME! You know that when Mark does the “I now pronounce yadayada…You may kiss the bride!”, that church should sound like the Egg Bowl with State at 3rd & goal, and the score tied with 8 seconds left in the game! I wish there was something I could do up here while I’m home to help you out, but you got this, lady. ;)
PM, I hope it’s just a wrist sprain; I’m tickled be’s trying to get up and walk around. Does he have an “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!” button? I had a couple of hours to kill in Meridian Wednesday between appts, so I went to Books-A-Million. I go tired of bending down to see titles in a certain area, so I sat on the floor. UH-OH. It took me 15 minutes to wake my legs back up and stand. There was a young man (early 70’s at least) that worked there, and would walk by my aisle, grin, and keep going. He applauded when he came by and I was standing up-until he realized I was waiting for my legs to wake up so I could walk. He cackled, and I had to laugh with him. I think he felt bad when I told him I was recovering. Whoops.
I hope this finds everyone doin okay. AW, I’ve had your dad on my mind, and your Mom as well. God be with y’all.

I know some of us ask for prayer (some more than others), and I am asking again. I thought we were in the midst of a family crisis, until I learned our friend, the former EMT that arranged our first meeting at Trustmark Park and is now a paramedic (and works the same location and shifts as my ex), had his worst call ever last night. Apparently 3 high school kids were struck by a truck (or vice-versa), and all 3 perished in the accident. The driver of the truck did not have lice-threatening injuries. Our friend is taking this very hard; it’s the “worst call he’s ever had”, and needs to be lifted up in prayer for peace and understanding. The helplessness you feel when trying to save one person, let alone three who are still so young, can eat you up inside. Please remember the families as well. More information at wtok dot com.

Barb, I’m from Tylertown, originally, but I’ve been near Meridian for most of the last 25 years.

    Later, taters.

Very good Clucky on the lab work. The doctors office closes at noon and if a change in medicine is needed Monday is the earliest we would know which would not be good.

PD’s wrist is still swollen some, but no pain that he is aware of. I have been propping it up at night once he is in bed and that seems to be helping too.

Prayers to our EMT that is a tough situation to have to deal with.

  10. blues4you says:

    Hey folks.

Was gonna air some of my problems on here when I realized how petty they would seem.

Good to here from you, clucks.

    Prayers for us all.

    • CornPop says:

Blues, I’m of the opinion (& I think it would be agreed upon by everyone) that there aren’t any problems that are “petty” – big or small, they all effect (or is it ‘affect’? I always have trouble with that) our lives in one way or another. Airing them is very helpful and therapeutic to each of us. Vent away! :)

      • GrammarGirl says:

I agree with you. When I was going through cancer treatment, folks would say they wouldn’t tell me about this or that because they knew I had more important things to deal with, and I told them that everyone has “stuff,” and it’s important because it’s your stuff. Don’t discount your feelings about things, no matter how small they may seem to you. It’s important because it’s something that’s important to you. People who are your friends want to hear about things that are important to you.

      • Legal Eagle says:

        It’s affect.

I’ve been on a world tour. Get me north of County Line Road and I might as well be in another world. I went up Ridgewood Road, crossed County Line, got on Highway 51 north and drove through Ridgeland, Madison, and Gluckstadt and was on the way to who knows where when I picked up my cell phone and called one of the girls. Another one taught at one of the Madison County schools so she got on the phone and told me I’d gone too far, to turn around, come back through Gluckstaddt, Madison and back into Ridgeland and right before I could get over on I-55, they would be on the left. I drove back and found them and we had 13 of my classmates there. The food was good and the one who sells Tastefully Simple was there and I got a jar of vidalia onion dressing and a jar of roast beef seasoning. After 3 1/2 hours and a quarter tank of gas, I’m back home.

  12. dhcoop says:

Meaningless rant: WHY won’t a document I have in Word with IDENTICAL page layout act like the document it is IDENTICAL too?? That is all.

Praying for our EMT friend. That had to be an extraordinarily rough one.

  13. OldBopper says:

PQ and I made a trip to WalMart earlier this afternoon. In the process, we loaded up on sunflower seed. All the bird feeders are now full again.

Daughter wants to know which song I want to use for the Father/Bride dance. I gave her four titles and I bet the fourth choice will be the one. It’s “I Loved Her First”. My favorite is “Embrace of the Father and Bride” which can be found on UTube as “Father and Bride Wedding Song” sung with an Irish Accent. I like the message.

I’ll be happy with any of them and will let you know when she picks one. I only going to make one special request of the band. They need to learn “Chances Are” for PQ and me.

    • Clucky says:

OB, you gave me chills at “Chances Are”, then I realized you mean the other one. The one I am fond of is by Bob Seger, and I think Garth Brooks sang it for the movie “Hope Floats.”
“I Loved Her First” is a beautiful song. I also get misty-eyed at “You’re Gonna Miss This” and so wish my baby girl would “get” it, but she’s too busy growing up too fast. Any of you that like Taylor Swift (ducking), her CD “Fearless” has a song called,”Never Grow Up.” By the end of the song, I was a quivering mass of tears and snot. That one hit waaaay too close to home; I guess being my daughter, and the Baby Girl at that-is putting too much on my Chicklette, but it is so hard to back away and let her learn certain things the hard way; I want to save her so much hurt, but we all went through it, and I have to just let it happen. I tried the “Brick on the Head” trick to no avail.

  14. parrotmom says:

Good evening, nice and chilly outside and a nice warm fire in the fireplace again tonight :)

  15. dhcoop says:

    Evenin. Chilly tonight.

Between MrsH and OB, sounds like a couple of awesome weddings are on the horizon.

  16. Clucky says:

MrsH, after further consideration, I thought maybe “Hail State” could be the recessional, then use the cowbells as they are leaving the reception :)

Our friends’ comment regarding the accident last night, and that was about the high rate of speed involved.

    Gnite…it’s COLD!

  17. Legal Eagle says:

Don’t worry, Clucky. Somewhere between the ages of 30 and 35, Chicklette will start realizing that her mother made pretty good sense after all.
