Morning been up since 4 am. Safe travels Marshall.

  2. blues4you says:

    Good morning.

Thought about you last night, coop. Thanks for heads-up on the moon/venus. Had a great view from the motel balconey.

Will be making plans for home toward the end of the week.

Good morning. The eye is still dilated but much less than last evening. Things are just slightly out of focus with that eye right now and I’m sure will be much better by this afternoon. At least my background color is the same, clear and bright versus foggy and yellow.

Marshall those stress fractures take much longer than a break to heal. At least that has been my experience. When it heals, you should not have any more trouble out of it.

Hope everybody has a good day. Off to the doctor in about an hour.

  4. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

Glad you got to see it, Blues. It should still be visible tonight. Venus is the brightest next to the moon, and Jupiter is the one further down below the moon.

  5. msblondie says:

    morning gang!

Saturday at the Parade could see Venus and Jupiter really well.

As this morning no change on my uncle. This is taking a toll on my mother. Last night she kept questioning if she did the right thing.

  6. parrotmom says:

Prayers MsB for comfort for your mother and the rest of your family.

    Blues safe travels coming home.

OB I hope your site continues to improve.

  7. Clucky says:

MsBlondie, reassure her that she has done the most merciful thing. I made the same decision for both of my parents, their wishes of course, and tho I miss Mama like crazy, I have never regretted my decision.
Well, two more months at home! I can SLOWLY increase activity, but there was no visible new bone formation on x-ray. I almost wonder if I will ever have any, since I had high-dose radiation to my thyroid-which is what destroyed that disk anyway. At least I have a titanium plate and 4 screws holding my head up. Still no PT. Sigh.
Chicklette has a tennis match this afternoon in Forest. Since most of the team is at BETA convention, she will get a LOT of play time today. I am looking forward to watching her play! I finally got my hands on her report card last night. We’re it not for her math grade, she would have made honor roll! I plan to get a tutor for this final 9 weeks to help her in math.

Before the eye surgery, I could barely see (not read) the large line on the eye chart with my left eye. My Dr. said he could correct it to 20/50 but recommended cataract surgery instead. Today, a week after surgery, that eye checked in at 20/20. The Dr. expects the same for the right eye.

  9. Legal Eagle says:

Im going to take my computer to my friend today so he can put the DVD player back in it and check it out in general. If I’m out of touch for a few days, you will know why,

Ask and ye shall receive. By the way, chessmen cookies are Pepperidge Farm cookies with chess piece shapes on them. Shortbread-ish.

    Ingredients
2 bags Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies
    6 to 8 bananas, sliced
    2 cups milk
1 (5-ounce) box instant French vanilla pudding
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12-ounce) container frozen whipped topping thawed, or equal amount sweetened whipped cream
    Directions
Line the bottom of a 13 by 9 by 2-inch dish with 1 bag of cookies and layer bananas on top.

In a bowl, combine the milk and pudding mix and blend well using a handheld electric mixer. Using another bowl, combine the cream cheese and condensed milk together and mix until smooth. Fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture. Add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding mixture and stir until well blended. Pour the mixture over the cookies and bananas and cover with the remaining cookies. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Thank you so much, GG! Chessmen cookies sound kinda like Lorna Doone cookies, which have always been one of my favorites. I bet banana flavored pudding would be good in this too.

I hope to see you at the picnic this year! Or Run From the Sun weekend after next. I guess I will be there. I haven’t heard back from MR and Keith about whether they need help or not.

  11. cardinallady says:

Flying through. HI Marshall. You came extremely close to me today. Love ya!

Alright I’ve got to finish getting this paper to bed. Talk in a bit.

  12. Legal Eagle says:

I have been too lazy so far today to get my computer to my friend – maybe before dark, and maybe not.

I have been trying to call the City of Crystal Springs, Parks & Recreation, to get some information on picnicking at the treetops nature trail, but can’t get an answer and their answer machine or voice mail is full. The number I have is 601-892-0007. If any of you who live down that way or visit often have any better information, please let me know. I haven’t seen any comments from any of you about picnic location preferences or times and I’ve lost track of the 2 wedding dates. Help!!!

  13. OldBopper says:

Legal, wedding is April 14 and 50th class reunion is the next weekend.

  14. blues4you says:

Any location is fine with me, LE. I just hope I have a chance to make it.

  15. Mrs. H says:

Leagle, ours is May 19th. And I’ll be in Peru while OB is with his classmates on the 21st of April.

  16. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

OB, I’m so glad you are having good results! PM, hoping for some good progress with PD. Continue to pray for Cornpop and Orville and everyone else that needs it!

MsBlondie, your family has been in my prayers today, also.

I’ve been tending to work, seedlings and myself. Having a lot of problems with the hip I had surgery on and am really worried about not being able to do the “Run from the Sun” in a couple of weeks. If it wakes me up again tonight, I just don’t know…I was real proud of myself for making it the distance last year, but I’m just not sure I can do it this time. Then again, I may just do it and see how far I can make it. I’ll just have to see.

Love and hugs to all! I hope the Boss had a safe trip home from Columbus. Enjoyed listening to the show this afternoon on the way home. I hope he knows he is appreciated.

Porch lights are on. Y’all sleep well.
