Good Morning Everyone! Happy Anniversary OB & PQ.
Sad day today for our family. Jeff’s cousin was killed in a motorcycle accident in Birmingham yesterday morning. He has been riding for over 50 years. I will miss him tremendously. MRBA members who ride — watch out for the auto drivers as they tend to dismiss motorcycles. Auto drivers, watch out for our cyclist they are precious to us.

    • Legal Eagle says:

I am so sorry to hear that that happened. It’s nearly always the automobile drivers who are at fault. BE sold his motorcycle a few years ago and I was glad to see it go. Drivers of cars just don’t see motorcycles.

    • Mrs. H says:

It is a sad day. Cyclists need to drive as if they were invisible while at the same time trying to dress as visibly as possible. Mr. H practically glows in the dark!

    • dhcoop says:

      I’m so sorry dwb!

    • Airwolf says:

So sorry! People ignore cycles!! I’ve never had a problem with a fellow biker, just dumb automobile drivers.

    • msblondie says:

so sorry – prayers for your family.

    • parrotmom says:

      So sorry Dwb, prayers

    • cardinallady says:

Sorry, my dear. I understand your pain.

God please surround this precious family with your love. Draw them to Your great heart and though they don’t understand or like this moment they are in right now, please remind them that this moment, like all of life, is fleeting, and this, too, shall pass. WE love you. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen

Had a huge fire ant bed; 1′ x 2′ x 6-8 inches tall. Have poisoned it over and over. Finally decided to pour a little gasoline on it. They came out screaming. So I decided to light the gasoline. I kicked a part that wasn’t on fire and it flamed up. Went and got a shovel and dug into the mound and fire would erupt every time. It was an underground fire. Finally I hooked up the hose, watered it down good, turned the dirt over and over and over and kept watering it down. Finally got the fire out. Those mounds are highly flammable!

Yeah, yeah, I know I shouldn’t use gasoline but I was determined to destroy them forever. Sometimes that’s the only thing that works.

    • Mrs. H says:

Charcoal starter fluid probably works as well. Is it equally as flammable?

      • Old Bopper says:

I think what caused the unexpected flames is the number of tunnels the ants dig. I really don’t use gas very often.

    • msblondie says:

since i am not to thrill of setting the yard on fire.. i go a different route with ants – self rising cornmeal or instant rice. they take to the queen, she eats it then explodes.. killing the mound.

  10. Barb says:

So sorry for your loss, dwb. Prayers are with you and your husband,

Congratulations on your 46th! That is quite a milestone these days. You two are a wonderful example to the young people today!!

  11. dwb810 says:

    Thanks everyone.

  12. parrotmom says:

I have to chuckle at Ob’s anniversary. At times I have to remind PD that we are married :). Thankfully he knows me, but not sure why!

  13. dhcoop says:

It is NOT going to be a fun ride home today. Solid red south of Jackson. blech

  14. cardinallady says:

Flying through. Been dealing with a bomb threat at our school all day today. Evacuated all 1500 kids to Agri-center. Can read about it on pontotoc360.com.

I just noticed yall are in tornado mode. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!! Gotta go. LOVE YALL

  15. Old Bopper says:

Headed out in a few for Dinner at Table 100. Delivered the flowers earlier so I know they are already on the table.

  16. parrotmom says:

Thanks to leaving car windows cracked a little and rain blowing sideways my back side is soaked. Not to mentoin the blanket and a towel I always keep in the car. I even had a half inch water in the cup holders.

Everyone be careful an OB and PQ have a nice evening :)

  17. Legal Eagle says:

One of our bridge players had left her convertible top down and just noticed the rain in time to run out there and put the top up before the bottom fell out. I picked a fine time to have to stop by Wal-Mart. If we hadn’t been out of toilet paper and hadn’t needed something for supper, I never would have stopped today. I told BE one day that I wasn’t sweet enough to melt and he reminded me that salt melts as easily as sugar. I’m about half melted now. The weather folks said rain Tuesday afternoon and I believe they missed the mark this time.

  18. parrotmom says:

My parrrot just asked me if I was in the bathroom? I told him that was where I was going, but stopped by the compluter first.

  19. Old Bopper says:

Enjoyed a nice meal at Table 100. Stuffed and sleepy. No water in the basement YET.

  20. Mrs. H says:

We are supposed to be riding the Trace with a bunch of friends on Wednesday and Thursday. We were afraid we would have to cancel because the rain was forecast for Wednesday. The front must have put the pedal to the metal. I’m hoping that it’s moving on through and we won’t have to cancel our reservations in Natchez. I AM pleased that the power hasn’t gone out while Mr. H is watching the final.

  21. Clucky says:

Tomorrow, Chicklette FINALLY gets braces. Accepting prayers and PayPal.
