Good morning! PQ and I are starting on year 47.

  3. Barb says:

Morning! Early, well, earlier day today. I got my Hallmark day back, so I only work an 8 hour shift instead of 10 1/2 today!

  4. Mrs. H says:

Good morning to all. We have until 4:00 this afternoon to decide whether or not to do the Natchez Trace with our biker buddies. (That’s what time we have to cancel the hotel reservations.) It’s looking better now than the forecast on Sunday was calling for.

OB, Mr. H and I are coming to the end of year 30 shortly. We have a trip planned later in the summer (after mission trip, wedding and VBS)

    Good morning.

Just when you think you’ve seen it all, my work partner found an app for boiling crawfish.

    Cajuns/ya’ gotta luv’em.

  9. Mrs. H says:

I noticed on FB earlier that a friend of mine had posted a proposed business-card sized flier for his church, with a map on the back side. As a life-long baptist I smiled when I saw that they meet in Nancy’s School of Dance. : )

  10. Legal Eagle says:

Must have been the phase of the moon, PM. I don’t think I ever dozed off last night. But the good news is that I don’t have to be anywhere today.

  11. Airwolf says:

Two acres mowed now come on rain!

  12. Molly says:

Hello. I am in a foul mood today. Don’t know if it is because I’m especially tired today and have a headache. Or if it is because co-worker is back after being out yesterday, or a combination of all of the above. She is really getting on my nerves today. Yesterday was so quiet and peaceful. She hasn’t done anything in particular today; just her very presence is irritating me. I think I need a nap.

  13. OldBopper says:

MrsH, when are y’all planning on riding the Trace? And how much of it? I’m wanting to ride from Jackson to Nashville after I go to Mountain View, Arkansas. Then, I’m looking at riding the mountains in northern Alabama.

  14. msblondie says:

everyone have a good evening. got a project graduation meeting tonight.

  15. parrotmom says:

Evening everyone. PD will be going to hospice tomorrow provided he makes it through tonight. Last night was rough and I was with him when he almost reached home. He has been a wonderful husband not that we didn’t have some rough times in the last 28 years, but we have been together as one and luckily we ever gave up on each other. Our 28th anniversary will be May 12th. He may not be with me then in body but definitely in my heart.

      Praying.

    • Barb says:

Oh, honey, I am so sorry! Prayers continue!

    • Airwolf says:

      Prayers!

    • CornPop says:

Oh my, Parrotmom, I have a huge lump in my throat that makes it very difficult to talk right now. You are a true inspiration to me! I’ve learned that every minute is so very precious and needs to be treasured, as I know you have. My heart is so heavy for you during this time.

Orville and I have 34 years under our belts, except for the 3 that we lost ourselves, but the Good Lord helped us find our way back together. We know that none of us are promised tomorrow and try to cherish today (even though we still have our moments where we find ourselves snapping at each other).

May you have peace and may the warmth of love surround you.

    • Msblondie says:

      Hugs and prayers my friend

    • Legal Eagle says:

I love you, PM, and I’m thinking of you all the time. You will make the 4th friend of mine who has had an immediate family member go into hospice in the last week.

  16. Old Bopper says:

    (((((PM))))) Prayers for you both.

  17. Mrs. H says:

The ride has been cancelled, but since the call didn’t come until after 4 (our reservation cut off time) Mr. H and I are still going, still on the bike. We’ll take our rain gear, but he thinks we’ll be fine. The original plan was to ride up to Jackson, then down the Trace to Natchez. I’m not sure if we’ll go to Jackson or just head to Natchez from here. OB, I’ll let you know what we did, because now that it’s just us, we’ll just follow our impulses. We’ve done Jackson to Nashville before: very nice!

Experimenting with spinach quiche for supper. The girls wanted to decorate eggs tomorrow so we came up with something that called for eggs we could blow out of the shells. I’ve never made a quiche before and since I like to make stuff up, I took the basics from The Joy of Cooking and added what I wanted. I’ll let you know how it turns out before Leagle asks for the recipe:)

    • parrotmom says:

      Sounds interesting

    • Legal Eagle says:

And don’t forget to share the recipe with us.

Y’all be careful on the Trace going south. The days of masked bandits hopefully are in the past, but BE wouldn’t let me take the Trace when I drove to Natchez by myself. Heck, these days, the bandits probably don’t even bother putting on a mask. (This is being said with a big sorry to the deceased grandfather of my 3 older children who wrote the legislation to survey the original Trace and start the Natchez Trace Parkway and had Roosevelt sign it into law.)

    • Old Bopper says:

If riding the Trace south from Jackson, you will need to get on at Clinton. There is repair work which closed the trace from I-55 to Clinton. Just south of Clinton you will hit a two mile stretch of 40 mph due to some endangered frog species which cross the road in that area. I guess running over them at 40 is not as deadly as at 50.

Hwy 84 is an easy ride all the way across the state. Not much traffic. From your area you could take Hwy 15 to 84. If you just want a relaxing day ride, drop down to Columbia on 13 and follow that over to 49 then get on 26 out of Wiggins. Above Columbia, 13 is a straight ride. Below Columbia you get some small hills and curves.

    Evenin.

    Love and hugs PM!
