Good morning. Bummer that this is the first Saturday all month that I haven’t had a pick-a-nick or festival to look forward to. The MRBA picnic on the 5th, Brandon Day on the 12th, Pearl Day on the 19th, and nothing on the 26th. I will just have to get over it.

Morning! Slept late and now being lazy drinking coffee. Sitting on the deck watching the birds and squirrels play! It’s going to be a scorcher!!

Been busy. Push mowed back yard, hair cut, new inpection sticker on car. Now after playing on phone while cooling down. Going to dust and maybe push a vacuum cleaner. Then again who knows.
Hope OB and his friends have a safe trip on their ride today.

Managed to get the den cleaned. I used the shop vac and got under the sectional, it sucked up enogh down feathers to have have stuffed a pillow. The ashes are out of the fireplace so all is well. Time to cool down and take a shower and enjoy not doing much else the rest of the day.

BE had to go downtown to mail a letter and while he was there he went by a barbecue place on Gallatin Street where he used to eat lunch sometimes and brought home plates (boxes) of barbecued rib tips that would rival Louise’s, yes, I said rival Louise’s, along with french fries, really good baked beans and really good potato salad. He brought us a Smirnoff blueberry and lemonade premium malt mixed drink to go with it. Not bad, not bad at all.

I put a strawberry pie together a while ago and it’s chilling. I don’t have room for it right now, but later it will be wonderful.

      Want!

        How ’bout a recipe?

        • Legal Eagle says:

Well, Blues, it’s real complicated, but here goes.

Bake a deep dish pie shell until lightly brown. When pie shell is cool, wash and slice a pint of fresh strawberries and put them into the shell. Cover with a container of strawberry glaze (found in grocery stores in the produce department). Chill and then slice and top each slice with Cool Whip. The strawberry glaze comes in regular and sugar free. I like mine better than Shoney’s because they don’t slice their strawberries and they are harded to eat when left whole. Slicing brings the flavor out and they get coated with the glaze.

Evening! Rambette made a peach pie and we took Daddy some! He ate every crumb!!

The pies sound awesome. My day started off with fresh warm chocolate covered donuts from Shipley’s this morning only six. Ate at Outback tonight and am so stuffed right at the present.

Ha fun ride to the coast today. Seven motorcycles, 8 people. At lunch at the White Caps in Gulfport. A very enjoyable group. I think we covered 340 miles today.

Had a dozen oysters on the half shell and then had fried oysters. PQ is in hiding! :~))

OB, it’s been so long, I had to think about what you meant.

Maybe Mr Fab and I need a trip to the coast…ALONE. Granted he has pneumonia, and the steroids musta gave him PMS >:(

Homemade strawberry pie used to be something I made every year.

Good Pentecost Sunday! Happy Birthday to the Church. We’re only having a 10:30
service this morning followed by a crawfish boil and hamburger/hot dog cookout.

Red is the color of the day. Should be a lot of fun.

Thanks for the nice cartoon on Memorial Day! Great intentions with a slight typo.
