Morning folks! Headed to church in a bit! I expect a light crowd today, lot folks camping or out of town!
Stay hydrated it’s another scorcher.
Good morning, and that’s all I have to say about that! Everyone have a great day.
Hey folks
Blues, go back to yesterday’s FFA and check out the instructions for strawberry pie.
Well, that’s simple enough I reckon.
Mornin!
Still having fun in Eburg with Poppy and A!
Everything bagels with cream cheese, and dill weed sprinkled on top…yum.
Had lunch with an old friend of PD’s and mine. They ate heading back up north close to the Tupelo area. I told him after they settle back in and maybe about fall I may plan for a northern excursion. I told him if a couple of folks know and would like to hit there home towns.
Mr. H put ribs in the smoker this morning and we had a wonderful lunch with the young newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. K! Em and El left after church on a mission/choir trip to Tuscaloosa, so we had them all to ourselves. After packing up a pick-up truck bed and Mustang trunk load of stuff, they were on their way to see if they could get it into their 700 square foot already furnished condo. Mr. H and I are going down tomorrow with a bit more that wouldn’t fit. The young K’s did take a grill and an ice cream maker that they received as shower presents with them. And there’s a pool just outside their back patio! We will celebrate the freedom that so many gave their lives to ensure for us in a manner that we hope they would approve.
Sounds like you all have had a wonderful time so far MrsH.
Had a wonderful service at church this morning. We celebrated Pentecost, had three baptisms, and then the priest thanked all who had served in the military and asked us to stand. The congregation erupted in sustained loud applause. It really got next to me and I began to cry softly. I cried all the way through the service. It was the first time in 46 years that I was part of a positive public recognition for military service. You probably think I’m over emotional, but for the Viet Nam veterans, it’s a rare incidence. I sincerely appreciated it.
During and after Vietnam it was very rare but has gone full circle.
It was long overdue, OB. In my opinion, an entire younger generation needs to be reminded often of what you and AW went through. No veteran can be thanked enough. Those that made the ultimate sacrifice can never be honored enough.
evening gang! thought i posted earlier…
we had c & j over for lunch today. we grilled out burgers, hotdogs, sausage with tater salad and baked beans. we all had a good time.
M and I are now waiting on ice cream. I just put a batch in to our little ice cream maker… hoping it still works right since it has been since last summer when we used it.
OB&AW and our other vets – My family and I do thank you for your service. We know our freedom is not free and never will be.
everyone have a good evening.
It was a privilege to serve!!
Happy Memorial Day! BE went to Bolton last night to try to catch our neighbor with the bushhog and my regular Monday beginner bridge group wants to play today so I will be going over there to help at noon.
That just struck me as funny: “to catch our neighbor with the bushhog.” Sounds like you were chasing him while on the bushhog!
Whatever it takes to get him to finish cutting the grass so we can find some sewer system installers and know that they will actually be able to see the land they would need to be working on.
We’re headed to Diamondhead in a bit.
Mornin!
Many thanks to all who served and are still serving to keep this country free!
I have had a blast in Eburg with Poppy and A. Poppy is cutting TWO molars, so was a bit fussy last night, but she’s still precious. A and I were totally worn out yesterday after the big Saturday happenin, but I feel much better today. Actually slept 8 hours. They are still sleeping.
Plan to help A get the house back together today, then head south later. Back to work tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a great day and remember to remember why we have the day off.
Many thanks to all who served and are still serving to keep this country free!
Morning! Hope everyone has a great day and remember those who have fought for our freedom.
I need to go put out my flag and then play with an electrical fixture once it stopped working the flag came down and hasn’t been back up since. I have the knew light fixture just never have had to rewire anything thanks to PD. it will be grat to have it back working.
Well Clucky and I can join the men’s working class now. She can do plumbing and I can fix a toilet, put in a garbage disposal, and niw wire electricity(to a point). I also have done ceramic tile and click wood flooring. My talents may be endless.
Flag is now flying proudly and this evening will get the lights adjusted to shine on it appropriately.
