Good morning and happy “Hump” day to everyone!

  2. Mrs. H says:

The report of the bird strike causing the power outage reminds me of a bit of church history from FBC Gautier. One year, the choir was presenting their Christmas musical in the evening service. As they were getting started the lights went out…and stayed out. Rather than cancel the service, folks went home and brought back every lantern they could put their hands on. The musical was resumed in a most memorable fashion. They later discovered that a seagull had flown into a substation and caused the very wide-spread outage.

Yes, I seem much more awake today than I did yesterday. I took my iPod walking with me this morning and my pace improved drastically. Apparently, so did my alertness!

    Mornin!

MrsH, I’ll bet that WAS memorable!

Hope everyone has a great day!

    wassup y’all?

SisterDuck(MrsBlues twin) is here for the rest of the week. She helps me a lot with outdoor chores and projects around here in exchange for food and drink. Guess who supervises.

And the dog(shih tzu) is in heaven because she’s got her two mamas to take her ridin’ on the golf cart.

Mawnin’ y’all. An old high school class mate and one year college room mate is in town visiting their daughter and grands. He brought me six bottles of Becker Cabernet Sauvignon….a really good Texas wine. Going to meet him sometime this morning to pick up the booty! Good timing, we were out of reds. Had to buy a bottle last evening to go with our steak.

If you are inclined, there are some great articles available on BBC news today http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/ A couple of neat ones on the War of 1812. I never knew we invaded Canada in an effort to free them from the British. There’s on on the West Florida Republic and another on Free On Line courses from MIT and Harvard. All interesting stuff to me.

Once again, BE saved my phone by putting it into a ziplock bag of rice. He took it out a few minutes ago and I can make calls again and check my messages. I plugged it in to charge and the screen on top that usually says “charging” is blank, but when I open my flip phone, the bars are moving and are obviously being charged. If you drop your cell phone in liquid, don’t even stop to turn it off. Immediately turn it over and knock the battery out of it. Dry everything and then put the pieces of the phone and the battery into a jar or ziplock bag of rice and seal it up. Last time we left it for 48 hours and this time for 24. Mine has been saved twice now by doing that.

Morning! I’ve been trying to rescue a baby cardinal since about 7. He hatched out in a nest next to my laundry room skylight. This goes down about 12 feet to the basement laundry room. I finally got him out a few minutes ago with the pool dip net. His mama has been having fits trying to get him to fly out. I placed him in a holly bush without touching him. Maybe he will manage to survive.

  10. cardinallady says:

Morning flying through. Today is my Friday. I’m off for the next two days, but will be up earlier than when I go to work. Have to be at the church at 7 a.m. both days for kids camp. I’m soooooo excited. I set up the museum of natural science yesterday. In the morning CardinalSon is going to help me deliver the live animals to the scene. I have 20 or 30 baby fish, half a dozen or so tadpoles, Three frogs, two turtles and one me. *giggle* It’s going to be fun I hope.

We are going to play night and day tug of war, re-sculpting man(with baloons and a big t-shirt on a little kid), sun and earth relay, sorting leaves, Coop sack race [we have some tote sacks with frogs printed on them that says ‘jump for the Lord’], find your mate, (they have to moo or bark or meow to find their mate for the ark), Language chess (the kids are going to be live chess pieces on a board in the grass that has different languages written on them, they draw languages from a box and they go stand on that language but if someone else draws that language they are kicked off the board, the team with the most pieces on the board wins) and find your language group. Alright, sorry this is so long. I’ve gotta run.

Blues the man of leisure. I am sure you are a kind supervisor.

CLady that sounds like a log fun for the children and the adults that will be participating.

AW so glad you were able to rescue the baby bird. Momma will eventually get her way.

  13. parrotmom says:

Speaking of the baby bird made me think of last night. I had left the parrot out of the cage as I went to deliver the videos and stayed gone for about 2 hours. I had left the lights in the den on , but were dim. Apparently, he was napping when I made it back home and the door startled him. When I walked into the den he was on the floor walking back to his cage. One of the cats was at the door watching with anticipation. It would have been a cute picture.

  14. msblondie says:

everyone have a good evening about time for me to get out of here.

Evening, waiting for Dallas home it is as good as last weeks :)

  16. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

I’m watching Dallas too! Really like the new series.

  17. parrotmom says:

So strange seeing those actors to be so much older. Glad I haven’t changed any :)

  18. Old Bopper says:

Evening. Just finished adding about 300 songs to my IPOD. Headed out of town first thing in the morning. It’s a work day but I should be through shortly after noon.

Blues, been going out to Ratliff Ferry. They have a nice snack bar with very reasonable prices. My opinion of the place has changed 180 degrees. Will give you a call the next time I’m out.

  19. OldBopper says:

Mawnin’ y’all. Headed out in a few. Y’all have a great Thursday (Friday Eve).

  20. parrotmom says:

    Safe travels OB!

    Morning to you all :)

  21. Clucky says:

Mornin’. Didn’t sleep a wink last night. I have a lot of business to attend to-I hope to be done by 10, because that’s what time it usually catches up with me.

AW, you’ll love this-a couple of weeks after Mom passed, I secured the services of a local attorney. I paid up front for her to handle Mom’s estate. I did ALL the legwork (that GOT done), but I started not being able to catch her in her office. Months later, I found out she skipped town and is practicing in Cleveland, MS. It has been over two years, and I haven’t heard a peep from her. One of my items to deal with today is seeing our (one) lawyer in town. I plan to file a complaint with the Bar. I am disgusted by her behavior.

  22. msblondie says:

    morning gang!

Today is M turns 18! Can’t believe my baby girl is grown up.

    Everyone have a great day!

  23. Mrs. H says:

Good morning! Hope the BC powder kicks in soon. This headache is making my head hurt…….

  24. parrotmom says:

MrsH I hope the BC powder worked for you.

Half a day left then Friday.

  25. OldBopper says:

Afternoon. Back home. Need to write a report and I’ll be done working for another month.

  26. msblondie says:

everyone have a good evening. getting time to wrap things up.

  27. Clucky says:

Listening to MR on the radio. So much for my to-do list..I crashed before 730 and slept a solid 8 hours. In 5 hours, I’ll be able to do it again.

  28. Legal Eagle says:

We had our June seniors luncheon in Pearl today and as always in June, we had a covered dish luncheon and talent show. There were two long groaning tables of all kinds of food and a long laden table with desserts. The talent show left a lot to be desired, but the food was wonderful. And we had 16 for the bridge game immediately afterwards.

BE took the car home and came back and picked me up. On the way home, we stopped by Sonic and got a couple of the new island breeze slushes. BE got strawberry and I got pineapple. Mine tastes good, but the pineapple bits are too big to come up the straw, so I had to take the top off of it to drink it. The strawberries are pureed better than the pineapple is. We probably would have been better going to McDonald’s or Krystal for one instead.

  29. parrotmom says:

    Evening everyone!!
Clucky sorry that you did get done what you had planned, maybe tomorrow.

  30. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

Tomorrow night Big Sis will be home!! YAY!
