Morning!!! It’s Friday and it’s going to be hot.

  2. Mrs. H says:

My girls are headed home today. Them Em leaves on Thursday to work at M4 Camps for 2 weeks. I think in that time I think they have 7 or 8 camps and see almost 900 people. Some churches send almost as many adults as they do kids. Ours is sending almost as many moms as there are daughters!

  3. Old Bopper says:

Morning! Sitting on the porch with the ceiling fan running. Today is water day at VBC. The kids get to wear swimsuits and will get to play in water related activities for the last couple of hours.

  4. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

    Happy Friday!

Is it weird that I say good morning to the dove nesting outside my window every morning? :)

  5. msblondie says:

morning gang! hope all have a good day!

  6. parrotmom says:

Love this quote. ” A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the birds are singing and the lawn mower is broken.”. John Dent

  7. parrotmom says:

CLady so sorry about your turtles :(

Blues glad things turned around for some better and not all bad.

Isn’t it amazing how we can let things in our lives get us down? I’ve felt better this week than I have in a long time! Thought I needed medication. Not any more.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day & weekend! Try to stay cool!

    Good morning.

Got a $100 gift card from walmart using points from my recent hotel stay. Gonna use it to buy ham, ribs, and chicken to bbq this weekend, along with some malt bevages.

And speaking of turtles. We guarded what we thought was a nest of eggs only to learn there weren’t any there to begin with. Also, I have counted over 14 places where eggs were dug up by critters around my little neighborhood.

    • cardinallady says:

:( sorry about the turtle eggs blues. that would be an interesting learning moment.

I’m still kicking myself over my turtles. It’s not going to be a total loss, though,
Jon carried them out to the barn for ants to take care of. he says he is going to use one of the shells as a turkey call. Perhaps I can get some Thanksgiving meat out of it anyway.

  10. Clucky says:

So, blues…what time will it be ready?
    /grin

    • cardinallady says:

That’s what I say too Clucky. :) Although, I’m headed for some fun myself this night. Jon is already at Aunt Sherry’s house and I’m going up after work. Did I mention she is the aunt that loves to spoil us? :) :) I always feel like a kid again when I go to her house.

  11. Airwolf says:

Afternoon! I’ve been puttering around outside. I spent an hour knocking down spiderwebs. With these temps anything else outside will have to wait.

    Stay cool and hydrated!!

  12. cardinallady says:

Back in the office again at last! A cool breeze from the oscilatting fan is making me think I’m at the beach without the heat. :) From my window a gallon jug filled with baby gray fish I caught at the lake are swimming contentedly arond their moss.

Outside the heat is still raging like an invisible storm. I hung clothes on the line when I went home at dinner. Hand washed and hung them on the line sopping wet practically. They were half dry before I left to come back to work.

For fear of laying boiled eggs, my chickens have given up the effort today.

  13. msblondie says:

it is hot out…. everyone have a good one… i think i am calling it a day.. has been a busy one.

  14. Clucky says:

    106 at 1630 here, AW.

In other words (pardon my French), DAMN, IT’S HOT!

I cannot even fathom what August will be like. Or my power bill, for that matter.

  15. Legal Eagle says:

Coop, thank you for the kind words yesterday. Now it’s quite obvious to me that we don’t see each other nearly as often as we should because then you would realize that you are the only person in the world who has ever called me a saint. LOL!!!

  16. Mrs. H says:

I just finished hanging a room-darkening roll-up shade in the window of our temporary room. It’s on the southwest end of the house which is much warmer than our regular room on the northeast end. I was sweating in the window before it was done. It would have helped if I was even a bit taller than my 5′ 0″. I put a step stool on the bed to get me up high enough to drive in the screws. Yea, I know…and I wouldn’t have let my kids do it either. But the job is done and it’s already cooler in that room.

Time to start on a new knitting project. I bought some circular needles with interchangeable points and will be using my new micro-spun yarn that came in the mail . I’m so excited. It may take me until cooler weather gets here to finish it, but then again, our church is always on the cool side…in more ways than one :)

    • pncpnthr says:

I started another crochet project just yesterday. Realized my great niece’s baby shower is next weekend!

  17. Legal Eagle says:

Katie Holmes filed for divorce against Tom Cruise yesterday and asked for sole custody of their 6-year-old daughter.

  18. parrotmom says:

Evening everyone. You all stay cool and have a nice weekend.

  19. OldBopper says:

Evening. Piddled with Boule most of the afternoon. Installed some wig wag brake lights like Casper had. Fixed one of my driving lights. The ground wire had come loose.

The boys are headed back in the morning. We plan to hand them off about 10:30 at the McDonalds near Hwy 55 in Grenada. Looking forward to a quiet ride home with adult conversation.

Blues, I’ll probably be out your way on Sunday afternoon. If you need somebody to taste test the goodies, I can be available.

Yep it’s hot. But having spent a couple of winters at Great Lakes Naval Training Center, I can assure you it beats the heck out of two feet of snow, temps of 30 below and a steady wind blowing from Lake Michigan. It was awful waking up in the morning, hustling outside, getting into formation and marching to the chow hall at 5:30 am. I’ll take the heat any day.

    • Legal Eagle says:

OB, BE was also at Great Lakes and he still remembers how cold it was too.

Did y’all ever take the boys skating?

  20. parrotmom says:

Prayers for Banjo and for you too Marshall.

  21. canudigit says:

    Praying for Banjo.

  22. OldBopper says:

Mawnin’ gang. About to leave to make a stop at Dunkin’ Donuts before heading up to Grenada. LE, I didn’t take the boys skating. They went to the Natural Science museum once and the Childrens Museum twice and the Capitol and the Zoo.
