Went to bed at midnight and got up at five this morning for my weekly long run. Summer has returned — it was a muggy affair. I drank nearly a gallon of water on the course. I ended up getting in 15 miles.
My legs are tired. The rest of me is not far behind.
How’s your day?
Good morning! We watched Prometheus last night and BE is watching it again this morning while taking an intermission to walk the dog. We really enjoyed the movie and it actually shows where Alien came from.
My cousin and his wife had their 50th wedding anniversary reception in July and one of my favorite foods was Brie and Pepper Jelly Tartlets. They were so good that neither my cousin nor his wife got one because they went so fast. I got the recipe yesterday, so naturally I had to add it to our collection.
Brie and Pepper Jelly Tartlets
1 (8-oz.) wheel brie cheese
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped and toasted
Hot pepper jelly
1 (19-oz.) package mini filo shells, thawed.
Cut brie into 24 1-inch cubes; put on plate and place in freezer. Saute walnut pieces in butter and set aside. Place one brie cube in center of each pastry. Bake in cups. Remove from oven and immediately top each tart with 1/2 teaspoon pepper jelly and walnuts. Yield: 24
Note: This recipe was in Mississippi Magazine and doesn’t say what temperature the oven should be, but I would guess about 350 degrees F. The person who made them for the reception placed a walnut half on each tart instead of chopping them and they were delicious.
That sounds faincy. And delicious.
stumbles in/hey folks, how ’bout them dawgs!/oh, uh, sorry Boss/gets coffee/goes back to work.
Afternoon everyone!
Afternoon/Evenin!
Pooped, but it sure was a fun weekend! I’m back home safe and sound, as are all of the rest of my crew. Need to get on fb and get pics sorted out.
Clucky, I hate to hear you took a nasty fall. Hope you are okay, dear!
Legal, sounds like you’ve been eating well!
I was lucky enough to get 2 or 3 of these in July and finally got the recipe yesterday.
I look like Richard Dreyfus in “Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind:” half my face is sunburned. I guess the liner of my helmet absorbed what was on my face. Sitting for 4 hours with the sun to my left has left that side of my face rather red. I guess I need a bigger brim on my hat.
It’s all good. Y’all take it easy.
Evning to all and probably good night to all of you early birds.
