We’re headed to Starkvegas for Preview day with Em (and El, too). She’s already been accepted, so I’m not sure what we’re previewing that we haven’t seen in the 4 years the eldest was up there, but it’s an adventure for the day. Y’all play nice…..nicely (it’s an adverb, I couldn’t leave it alone)

Your story yesterday really got to me, Marshall. I had my father on my mind the rest of the afternoon. I’m really looking forward to reading your book.

Mornin. I’ve had an upper respiratory infection. I went to the doctor Friday afternoon before it got too out of control and started a Z-pak. I started feeling better late yesterday afternoon. Still tire easily, though.
Hope everyone else is doing well.

    Mornin

I seemed to have tweaked something in my back and it’s giving me fits! I think some ibuprofin is in order.

I looked and didn’t see it in the recipes since July 15th. The others are on my old computer and I need to get them off of it, but I don’t remember a pumpkin cookie recipe.

I would love to have the recipe, even if it’s been posted before! One of my favorite things about Fall is eating anything with Pumpkin! Don’t care for it any other time of the year.

Flitting through. My most important history story is just not panning out yet. I think I need to go back to bed and start again. Let’s pray for a fresh cd to walk in the door. okay okay explain. We are having a cemetery and old house tour this weekend.

There was a lot of history stored on this cd that a lady brought me, but it has clear stuff, resembling glue all over the cd. Won’t read. it’s actually in file 13 now. Went to the home owner to get another, none to be found. the only hope I have is for the woman they listed their house with to have a copy. There is so much history with this house. I can’t wait to tour it! I did get a little pre-tour this morning though. I felt honored.

Here is the Pumpkin cookie recipe. This is a “wet” cookie.

    Preheat oven to 350.

In a large bowl mix all the following together.

    2 cups self rising flour
    1 cup quick oats
    1 cup sugar
    1 cup brown sugar
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1 tsp vanilla
    1 egg
1 can pumpkin mix ( store brand works great in this)
1 cup butter – melted (i use 2 sticks of blue bonnet – seems to work best)
1 cup chocolate chips (folded in)
optional 1 cup chopped pecans can also be added in.

Line cookies sheets with parchment paper. Drop spoon fulls of batter on to sheets, about 1 inch apart. Cook for 12 to 14 minutes till cookie is golden around edge and top is firm. Let cool for 5 minutes before removing so they will firm up (cookies are suppose to be soft and moist). Store in air tight container with layers of cookies separtated by wax paper. Yields 4 to 5 dozen depending on size.
