It’s a dangerous thing for a pastor (music, youth, etc) to live across the street from their church. Last night during choir practice, some of our students (2 of whom I know VERY well) moved every chair, as well as 3 tables, from the Fellowship Hall across the street into the front yard of the Minister of Music’s house. Well, all but one chair. They placed it in the back of his truck, balanced on top of the big tool box. This man has been filling in as Student Pastor for the past 2 months. I think they love him!
I love it!!!
Morning, headed to Huddle House for breakfast with Baby Darling!
Sounds yummy and nothing like some father, daughter time.
It was nice!
I have truly enjoyed the early morning sun these past few days. It is at a different angle and the way it looks on the trees is awesome. Tomorrow I’m taking the day off. :) and I am going to build a fire and enjoy the day!
I think I’ll take the two days off after tomorrow :). CLady you have fun and enjoy that fire.
morning gang!
Morning. Hubby will be home tonight instead of tomorrow. Yes, blues, I’ve got to get busy!
At Day 7 after transplant and Orville’s white blood cell count moved today from where it’s been since his body was blasted with chemo at .1 (this is where it’s been for 5 days) up to .2 !! FYI, a normal white blood cell count is between 3.9-8.8. This movement may seem small and insignificant, but it’s an increase of 100% and means that his new bone marrow is growing! The mouth/throat pain is bad & makes it hard to swallow, the stomach issues are back now, too, and he continues to run a fever. The fever appears to be from the ‘trauma’ his body’s gone through recently (not uncommon to run fever), as there has not been any infection found in all the blood cultures & tests they’ve done. He will continue to be on the IV nutrition until he can eat food, again. It would be an understatement to say that he sure doesn’t feel good at this point, but is encouraged to know that his blood counts are getting better (we’re both encouraged, of course). The white cell count increase will start very slowly, though, BUT it’s starting! Later today, at Day 7, they will begin giving him the medicine, Neupogen, which will help stimulate the production of the white blood cells in his bone marrow. Once they really start moving then his mouth & throat will heal pretty quickly. He got a very close buzz haircut earlier this morning because his hair has steadily falling out the last few days. It’s very difficult, but all will be well. One day at a time! ♥
I’m glad he’s showing positive signs. Celebrate all those baby steps!
I’m coming to you from the Children’s Theater where I’m waiting for some video to download for Sunday morning. This will have to be a video Sunday as the Church newsletter and Church bulletin had to be done, even on a week with no backup secretary and a choir trip to Jackson to sing at the state Baptist Convention. It can all get done, just not all of it will be done well.
Evening to you all!!! Surprise, surprise I was very productive at work today better than I had been the last couple of weeks.
Hope Clucky and her clan are starting to feel better. Love and hugs to everyone :)
Howdy. Chicklette’s fever broke around noon. Yay!! She’s still a little pale, but she’s feeling better. Tomorrow night starts 2A playoffs, and as #1, we play #4 Richton at home. At halftime, our band members will receive their state championship medals, then will perform at the end of the game. My girl has a birthday next Tuesday, and has ripped this house apart looking for her Ugg’s that are hiding in plain sight :)
CP, that is a HUGE deal! So proud of that doubling of his WBC! With the Neupogen, it really should start to move on up. I can’t imagine the pain he’s in; I bet his bones hurt. Keeping y’all in prayer.
PM, many hugs hon. I know each day for you brings back memories. (((PM)))
Love and hugs to all of you. MrsH, I giggled at the prank. Chicklette was bent on rolling yards. Thankfully, that didn’t happen. Btw, Thing 2 had an interview yesterday; he has a real full-time job at LazyBoy. He’s excited. There are many of our friends that started there at 18, and 25 years later, are still working there.
Thing 1 and gf are in Carthage; her best friend’s grandfather passed away and visitation is tonight.
I ate waaaaay too much candy.
Evenin! Never got a chance to pop in today.
Clucky, glad your crew is doing better, and SO glad Orville is on the up-swing!
I’m hanging out in CS tonight. Ready for sleep.
Good night to all.
My eldest informed me that her beloved got the job! He had been laid off (on leave without pay, technically) a few weeks ago, but was being considered for a new position that depended on Navy approval. The Navy, being a bureaucracy, took its time, but eventually made the right decision. Hooray!!
6:35 am on FRIDAY!!!! morning and hope you all have an enjoyable day.
