Hmmmm!!! Did the rapture happen? Hope you all are doing fine and having a great day. I know Clucky is seeing to Poppy. Coop and PNC are enjoying having Big Sis home. Good that folks are with family and friends.
Lots of AWOL’s today. I checked in this morning on the Saturday FFA. Picked up leaves after church, then rode for a bit, have a batch of brownies coming out of the oven in about five minutes and am pleased to report that all of PQ’s kitchen knives are razor sharp.
We are home again from our trek to ATL. We had a blast. Mr. H found an antique store that had a ton of old albums. He bought some for himself and some for the friend that told him about the place. This morning we went to Ikea. Mr. H found the futon he wanted. We also got a memory foam mattress topper. WOW! is all I have to say about that.
I got a chair for my desk space in our room. I thought about a dining room chair (I saw one I really liked), but after I sat in a particular swivily chair that tilted and had a reinforced lumbar, I was hooked. I’ve got a nice throw on it now (yes, I’ve already put it together) so it looks more like bedroom than office.
I got a wonderful lamp. It’s a 7 or 8″ frosted glass globe with opaque white cherry blossoms. There is a hole at the top to put in the bulb and a hole in the bottom to keep it from rolling. The cord and bulb are mounted at an angle near the bottom. It sheds a wonderful light in this little corner of my room.
And I got some white tab-top curtains for our room, some frames to put some wedding pictures in. Mr. H got some other stuff for his office, too.
What…a…weekend… In case y’all didn’t hear, Hurricane Big Sis hit the area this weekend, and there was massive disruption of ordinary circumstances…. Not everything turned out as planned, but all is well, she is home safe (and that’s all that matters) and I’m WAY too tired to report on the aftermath.
I will say that she was quite happy to discover her copy of Fried Chicken and Wine on her bedside table as her birthday present (today was her birthday and she just got in late last night.) and I believe her comment was something to the effect of “I KNEW you would have one for me!”, which is pretty much what I told Marshall she would say when he signed it.
I’ll have to catch up on everyone later and try to do a mini report of the landfall. It was quite a happenin.
Morning everyone. It’s Sunday. December 2nd. 8:00 am. Have a great day
