morning gang!
last night was girls night – i took M out to Babalous for supper.. it was awesome and great service. Then she needed to go to walmart for a few last minute christmas items for her dad’s family. We then came home and started making fudges, pies and cleaning. We have Christmas at my mom’s tonight, my house tomorrow, hubby’s mom’s christmas day.
I need to get truffles going so they have time to set up for tonight.

MOrning everyone. Appears to be warming up nicely. Going into work for a few hours to keep from being overwhelmed for the last 4 days of the year—yea like that will work :) Nothing else to do or place to go, no shopping required.

Morning! I’m at home cooking for my boys. Cub has made comments before that we eat pizza every time he is home, well, not this time. I’ve actually written down the menu, but that’s just for me.
I’ve been to three funerals this year and found out yesterday that there will be another on Monday. A 31 year old daughter of a friend that lost her fight with Leukemia.
I’m ready for 2013…

Tarpon Tavern Blackened Hot Wings With Gargonzola Cheese
1. Deep fry chicken wings until done. Drain well.
2. Sprinkle Paul Prudhommes’ blackened seasoning liberally over wings.
3. Sprinkle blue cheese crumbles liberally over wings.
4. Melt cheese.
5.. Serve with celery sticks and blue cheese dressing.
I was delighted to learn that our new Italian restaurant in Pearl has opened. We went there last night, ordered the spaghetti and meat sauce, and it was horrible. It had so much basil in it that that’s all you could taste. The bread we got was thin cut French bread, ragged and falling apart and not even toasted. We were so disappointed and it makes me so mad for these places to open as restaurants and not even be able to cook.

Brrrr, it’s cold!
I took the girls shopping on Friday. O My Goodness!!!!!
I knew that Mobile would be a madhouse and I was not mistaken!
Yesterday (Saturday) we took them to see “The Hobbit.” When we got out, there was no one in the lobby. Amazing! I guess everyone was too busy shopping. Em is currently reading the paperback copy of “The Hobbit” that belonged to either me or Mr. H back in the ’70’s. (We each had a set) I had to reattach the cover (artwork by J.R.R. Tolkien himself—no movie photographs)
We will have 10:00 church this morning, then a day with nothing for me to do except wrap Christmas presents. Ahhhhh…….
