Sunday Free-For-All

Sorry I didn’t update yesterday. I was at the Beau Rivage and on the road most of the day.  I did win the Mississippi Press Association Better Newspaper Contest awards for Best Editorial Cartoon and Best General Interest Column (for Banjo’s obituary.) It was a good day. The old dog would have been proud. Especially if I had brought him back something from the buffet.

    Did I miss the Rapture?

I’m here. Talked to Em via Skype just after lunch (before bedtime there). She discovered that iMessages are wifi so we can text as wellas FB message. The video Skype kept dropping, probably due to high volume evening internet traffic at her hotel. We changed to voice only and it was much better.

    So what’s up with y’all?

MrsH glad you were able to talk with EM. I know this has to be so exciting for her.

Evening. More details in the saga of the riding mower. Borrowed SIL’s Jeep Cherokee with a trailer. Put the mower on it and hauled it to Morton. Turned left at the Fairway Grocery and right at the stop sign. Then traveled six miles down a wavy semi-blacktop road to another stop sign. Then turned left and went down two miles to the man’s house where he has a repair shop.

He asked if it would turn over. I told him yes but it usually took fifteen or twenty cranks to get it started. So I turned the key and the darn thing started on the first try. Never ever has that happened. We decided it was trash somewhere in the fuel line and all the shake, rattle and rolling on the poorly paved country road shook it loose. Brought it back home and it started the first time again. For two trips to repair shops, I bought almost $90 worth of gas for that American made car. But, no repair costs. I’m not sure I broke even on the deal.

Here’s some info Marshall may use. There’s an app called “TuneIn”. It can be downloaded on a cell phone or a computer. You can choose radio stations from all over the world by genre, or location. If you haven’t played with it Marshall, you should give it a try. It would allow your folks to hear your radio show live.

Oh and it does more. If you download it on your blue tooth phone and you have blue tooth on your car audio system, you can pick your station on the phone and then listen to it over your car radio. If a call comes in, it over rides the radio.

It will be a great app for football games in the fall.
