morning gang! hope everyone has a great week!

  2. Mrs. H says:

Greetings! What a week-end (it lasted 4 and a half days for me!)

  3. Molly says:

Hey. My weekend was 4 1/2 days as well. It was nice! The whole weekend was good. Good food, relaxing time. I stayed out of the Black Friday madness. I did order some gifts online. One gift came in today and has been wrapped and put under the tree. It was too big to hide, so I spent lunch putting supper in the crockpot and wrapping the gift. Barely had time to scarf down a sandwich. Other than a gift card I know Kiddo wants, I am done with gift buying for her — for both birthday and Christmas.

Work is a bit hectic this week. The other paralegal is still on maternity leave. Something she prepared and filed with the Court is messed up and I – lucky me – get to go to Holmes County Thursday to try to explain to the Judge at the hearing what was screwed up and how it will be corrected. It involves a client’s money and judges get serious about doing everything involving client’s money correctly. That should be fun.

  4. blues4you says:

    Hey folks.

Thankful to be back at work with longtime clients. Had a pretty stressful 6 weeks during the separation. They made a lot of changes during this time. Not sure yet if all were good, but the main thing is we’re back.

    Everyone be careful out there.

  5. parrotmom says:

Hey everyone. Tuesday will be my first day back this week.

Blues glad you are back at it.

  6. msblondie says:

morning gang! hope everyone has a great day!

  7. Old Bopper says:

Good Tuesday morning! Was saddened to hear of Gov. Allain’s passing. I served in the Legislature when he was governor. In fact, I was the legislative chairperson for activities for his inauguration. The evening before his inauguration it rained, and rained, and rained. The morning of the event was the same. The inauguration committee met at 7 am that morning in the Governor’s Capitol office. The forecast was bleak….more of the same. I made the decision, and the others agreed, to move the swearing in to the House chamber. It was an awful decision. Everybody had to scramble to accomodate the the crowds. TV’s were set up all over the Capitol. Security was beefed up. The House gallery was reserved for the Governor’s special guests. It was a nightmare. Then as the appointed hour arrived, it quit raining about fifteen minutes to the start of program and didn’t rain for the remainder of the day. There were a lot of ticked off people who had traveled from all corners of the state who were only able to witness the event by watching it on a television somewhere in the Capitol.

Lesson learned. Never, never, never move that event inside regardless of the weather. I learned the lesson but those in charge of Gov. Bryant’s inauguration made the same mistake.

That’s my history lesson for today.

  8. Mrs. H says:

I love the “25 Days of Banjo” that Marshall is posting every day. I’m hoping my child took the hint when I tagged her in the post he made about Banjo being available at the Book Mart in Starkville.

  9. Old Bopper says:

Aw toot! I got my governor’s mixed up. I made the call on William Winter’s inauguration not Allians. My apologies.

  10. parrotmom says:

Boy oh boy!! today was something else. Busy!!!

  11. Clucky says:

Going back to work with my chirren today. It’s minimum wage, and I’ve gotten sick after I’ve worked with them EVERY TIME, but their little faces keep me coming back :).

I love the 25 Days of Banjo too!

Last night was our Christmas parade. The whole town (and yes, I mean all 2,000) turned out for it. The weather was perfect, but it was so short that if you blinked, you missed it!

Mr. Fab started PT on Monday. It’ll either kill him or cure him. He didn’t know he could hurt like that. He goes back this morning. I hate he’s hurting like this, but we are trying everything short of surgery to fix him. The company wants him back YESTERDAY, but it will be after the first of the year, as far as we know.

    Love y’all!
    XOXO

  12. MarkW says:

Hello….hello….is this thing on. Been a little while since I’ve been here.

  13. blued4you says:

Hi Mark! Long time, no see.

Good to see one of the originals checking in. Hope you’re doing well.

Sitting at work with the door propped open enjoying a nice breeze. they say freezing rain in 36-48 hrs. Shheesh.

  14. blues4you says:

    Lemme correct that.

  15. msblondie says:

sorry so late checking in today.. we had NO internet at work. I hate Doctors screaming at me.. thinking I can wiggle my little finger and make it all work even after they have been told it was down. AT&T got it back working around 4pm which was when I was walking out the door.

Blues and Mark good to see ya’ll.

Hope everyone is getting to the Spirit of the Season. I have the inside decorated and only the wreath up outside so far.

Well everyone have a good night.. going to go watch Disney Christmas Carol with hubby.

  16. msblondie says:

    Happy Thursday Morning to you!

    Everyone have a great day!

  17. parrotmom says:

Morning to you all! My fourth Monday this week.

Hey Mark, sorry I missed you and was good to see you check in. I hope things are going well with you and the family.

Blues or Blued we understand, lol!!

  18. Molly says:

Mornin. Why are you having so many Mondays, PM?

  19. parrotmom says:

Molly I took Monday off and tons of work is flowing through. Not to mention the phones :). I do love my job a lot.

  20. Airwolf says:

Hey folks. My gym shorts and tshirt is great in December but the the big freeze is coming. There’s probably no milk or bread in the stores.

Hope everyone has a great day!

  21. Molly says:

You might have to pull out some warmer clothes tomorrow, AW. I think it is just supposed to be wet and cold here…no icy stuff. It is ALWAYS wet and cold here on December 6. I can think of very few times in the past 18 years that it wasn’t. Well, 18 years ago it wasn’t, but has been since then. Kiddo’s birthday parties have always been on miserable days.

  22. Clucky says:

Mr. Fab goes to work Monday! Yay!!

  23. parrotmom says:

Good news Clucky. I hope it all goes well with him.

    Good Friday morning. Brrrrr!

  24. msblondie says:

    morning gang! Happy Friday!

    Clucky that is good news!
Molly – M’s birthdays have always been rainy and hot – that is what she gets for 1st of summer birthday. I remember only a couple that it has not rain in the past 19 years.

Everyone have a great day – stay dry and warm!

  25. Molly says:

Mornin. Kiddo is official not a minor any longer. I bought a cake pan in the shape of the Alabama “A” to make her birthday cake. She’s a HUGE Bama fan and her name starts with “A” so it worked out well.
Good news for Mr. Fab! PT must have worked fast.
MsB, my birthday is mid-June and I remember lots of rainy birthdays growing up.

  26. parrotmom says:

Happy Belated birthday to Kiddo. Hope she has a terrific weekend.

Good Saturday morning. Baby, it’s cold outside!!! and inside. Have a great day.

  27. Airwolf says:

Evening folks! It is colder than kraut on my hill. I found my long britches this morning!

    Stay warm and safe!

  28. parrotmom says:

I have about froze all weekend. So glad i’m not in the negative numbers as some places are. Will be so glad to see sunshine one day this week.

  29. Clucky says:

Molly, those that do the job I used to do can’t find their backsides with both hands and a map, or he would have been back a couple of weeks ago. He’s glad but dreading it at the same time. A job that gives a grown man panic attacks might not be the best job for him.

The little ones made me sick again, so I’m going to get fixed up tomorrow (again), and probably decline to return to work with the babies again.

We finally got our tree up Saturday! It is pretty-all blue lights :).

Friday, Mr Fab found Juno, our half-Persian cat, unable to climb the steps Friday and brought her inside. We had been looking for her since Wednesday. The Girl and I took her to the vet Friday afternoon. Her right femur was broken and pelvis had 2 fractures as well. The vets did surgery Fri evening to pin her leg, and told us the pelvis would just have to heal on it’s own. She’s still in the hospital for a few more days.

So…there goes our family Christmas. But she’s family too, so there.
