Yep, my chickens have gone to bed. My little Tuck is waiting on me in the car and now I’m ready to go HOME! I sure do miss Jon, though, Last week seemed like two months without him. Maybe this week will pass faster since we don’t have the Alaskan Tundra outside. :)

  2. Molly says:

Mornin. It’s chilly out now, but shaping up to be a pretty day.
Kiddo is home today. Says she has an upset stomach. I have a feeling it is exhaustion and not stomach. Between school and the bowling alley, she’s being run ragged. She’s getting tons of hours in at the bowling alley and will get a really nice paycheck this week, but she sure is worn out. On Friday and Saturday nights, she doesn’t get home from work until 1:30 or 2:00 am. Last night, she got home around 10:30. She has tonight off, but will work until 10:30 Wednesday night. She gets an average of 25-27 hours a week. Add school to that and you get one tired Kiddo.

  3. msblondie says:

morning gang! everyone have a great day!

  4. msblondie says:

happy wednesday morning! We are half through the week!

    everyone have a good day!

  5. Airwolf says:

Hey folks! Everything is quiet at the moment on my terra firma ! Still a little brisk to my liking but spring is coming and a little more daylight each day!

Enjoy hump day and I’ll watch for the camel!!

  6. CornPop says:

I have to jump on here and jump for joy… Orville went to his oncologist today for the results of the scans done last week and she officially said that HE’S IN REMISSION! I can’t thank God enough for the blessing He’s bestowed upon us! And, thank all of you for your continued prayers and positive energy.

  7. Cardinallady says:

    Hallelujah and praise God

  8. msblondie says:

    morning gang!
I did something to my hip yesterday and today I can barely walk. Once I get moving I am ok. but it is sore.

    Everyone have a great day!

  9. Clucky says:

    Morning!!

    It’s pageant prep day. Whoopty-do!

  10. parrotmom says:

Wow!! It’s Thursday afternoon, where has this week gone ?

CornPop great news for Orville and you. God is do good.

Clucky prayers got you dear. Blues hope you are getting better.

  11. parrotmom says:

I heard a fantastic speaker today at lunch. You may know him, Marshall Ramsey? He talked about his worst moments in life and how they were turned into true blessings. Thank you Marshall for the reminder. I’ve been in a slump for the past couple of months and so needed the reminder. Sometimes it helps hearing it with a little more pizazz.

  13. Old Bopper says:

Afternoon. The legislature is going home today and not coming back until late Monday afternoon. Now I’ll get a breather. I’ll be glad when all the bills have been dropped in the hopper so we can find out what we will be dealing with.

PQ heads out of town tomorrow for the weekend. She’s attending a training course for a course she teaches at church. Since there’s no free time, I’ll stay here with the kitties. May try to get my mower going tomorrow. I really do need to clean up my yard.

Speaking of bowling, PQ and I decided to go a week or so ago. We used to bowl in leagues and both of us carried very respectful averages. PQ fell flat on her face on the first throw. So I bowled both games by myself. Total for both games 115. Pathetic. We haven’t been bowling in about ten years. I’ve got to do some limbering up before I go again. She used to carry about a 170-180 average and I had about a 230-240 average. Sometimes getting old is the pits. But I’m not quitting just yet.

  14. cardinallady says:

Blues, I”m sorry the cold bug still has a holt of you. How I pray you will feel better soon my brother.

I hope I can soon get water running in my house again, or rather, in the pipes in my house. The alaskan tundra froze them tight and Jon got everything fixed except for the hot water in the bathtub, so everything is still off I can go to mom’s to take a bath, but there’s nothing like sinking into your OWN bathtub to take a bath. BUT, those folks who have fled Syria are living in tents and cold and hungry. So I don’t mind going to mom’s to get clean.

  15. blues4you says:

    I’ll be aaight, cardinal.

I wasn’t able to go to the doctor in time to knock this stuff out because I was on THREE different locations in the last 15 days. I’m thankful to have a job, but boy howdy this is gettin’ rough.

  16. Molly says:

Hey. It got busy at work all of a sudden. December and the first half of January were graveyard quiet, but now it’s hoppin.
OB, if you go bowling at the one at the Rez, be nice to the girl at the snack bar. On a Friday or Saturday night, it will be Kiddo. She works some Monday and Wednesday evenings as well. She is off this weekend ’cause she’s headed to Savannah, Tennessee tomorrow afternoon for church youth rally event.
Time to go home. See y’all tomorrow.

  17. parrotmom says:

Sorry that you didn’t get in to the doctor Blues. Hope it passes soon.

CLady hope your hot gets to running again. Yes nothing like your on home privacy.

  18. Legal Eagle says:

This is a test to see if my post shows up. Last few times I’ve tried, it hasn’t.

  19. Legal Eagle says:

    Yeah!!!!

Y’all know it’s not too early to start thinking about the MRBA Pick-A-Nick. I know I have a conflict one weekend in April. I’ll find out when and y’all be thinking and then I’ll check with Marshall to see when he has a free day (Ha!). Did y’all enjoy having it at Pearl Park and do you want to do it there this year or do you have any other suggestions?

  20. Molly says:

Mornin. Pearl Park was fine with me. Anywhere is okay with me, though. I don’t know what my schedule will be like this Spring. With Kiddo graduating mid-May, there may be some school activities, but maybe not on a Saturday. We’ll be going to Tennessee register her for college either the first weekend in May or a weekend in June. A client has graciously offered me the use of her home in Panama City, FL for a week, which we will probably do right after graduation.

  21. msblondie says:

morning gang! Hip is so so today. I finally got the pain to stop early morning hours so I could rest a bit. But I am still hobbling. If I don’t watch it, one of these rehab or image techs will get a hold me. I think I just bruised it or stepped wrong and twisted it.

    everyone have a great day!

    • Molly says:

My hip started hurting suddenly just before Thanksgiving. Every step hurt, but it was excruciating to move after being still a while. After I got moving, it would ease up quite a bit, but still hurt. That went on for a week and then suddenly was better. Haven’t had a problem since. At the time, I thought it might be arthritis, but since it quit on its own, I don’t know. I feel for ya, though. I know it is no fun!

  22. parrotmom says:

April should be good for me. Ok for Pearl Park also.

  23. Clucky says:

I can’t think of any possible conflict we might have with the date! Pearl Park was fun-and we went antiquing at the big antique mall right down the road. Didn’t buy but we love to look!

Today is pageant day. Wish us luck! And Blues, you need to go to an after hours clinic or something!! Get well buddy!!

  24. Legal Eagle says:

My conflict is the last weekend in April, the 25th and 26th, I hope by having it early to avoid the heat, we don’t get snowed on this year. But seems like if we do it in April, it might not interfere with school ending and vacations, etc.

Marshall, what does your April schedule look like? If you will give me a date that’s good for you, I will call the Pearl Parks and Recreation Department and see what they have available.

And this year we have an outlet mall right down the road.

  25. blues4you says:

    sunday 8:00am

I found a Mom&Pop convenience store in Madisonville, Tx that makes the best breakfast tacos I’ve had in a long time.

Clucks, I went to the doctor at home just before I came over here. I’m a little upset with him because he didn’t give me the proper strength meds to knock this stuff out. I’m not sure what he was thinking but I intend to find out.

Say a little prayer for us working folks when while y’all are in church this morning.

I sure hope I can make the picnic this year.

  26. Clucky says:

Blues, call the dr’s office in the morning. Tell them you can’t come in but see if they will send a new, stronger prescription to a pharmacy there-or send it to wal-mart and you can pick it up even in TX. Or whatever is out there in BFE.

  27. Clucky says:

PS Blues..my boys have finally discovered Robert Earl Keen, James McMurtry, etc. oh yeah…happy mama right here.

  28. Molly says:

    Mornin. Happy Monday everybody.

  29. msblondie says:

    morning gang! crazy busy day!

    everyone have a great one.

  30. Airwolf says:

    Happy Monday! Just breezing through!

  31. parrotmom says:

Wow!! It was Monday allll daaaayyyy looonnnnggg!. Don’t tell anyone, but I checked the mail. lol!

  32. Cardinallady says:

Evening. Since it was a vacation day Jon is still home. Going back tomorrow. Hopefully he can get the past water pipe fixed before he goes. And I will have bath water again. He did have supper ready when I got home from work. Nice and yummy

  33. parrotmom says:

Morning everyone. CLady praying he gets it fixed.

    Y’all have a great day

  34. msblondie says:

morning gang! I think Monday has wanted to hang around. Has been crazy around here already.

    everyone have a great day!

  35. Molly says:

Mornin. Kiddo is having a Monday today, I think. She called me about the time she got to school to beg me to go home and get notes she needed for a class. She didn’t have time to get home and back to school on time. I got the notes for her. Later she texted me that she forgot her glasses and her lunch. Now she has a headache and she’s hungry. Poor kid.

  36. cardinallady says:

*ahem* Important announcement! I NOW have WATER running in my house! I can take a HOT bath tonight! Halleljuah!!!!!

Hi yall! it’s a Terriffic Tuesday. I have my paper to bed and I am ready to dive into some more writing and get a story done, than a meeting. Have to tell CardinalSon goodbye in a minute. He is bringing my little Tuck to me. the little dog will stay in his playpen in the car until I get out of my meeting. Gotta run and get some story written or pictures fixed or something. Later taters.

  37. msblondie says:

It is HumpDaaay! And it is cooooold. I am not functioning very well – need warmth.

CL – glad you got your water running again.

lots to do so best get busy. everyone have a great day!

  38. parrotmom says:

MsB you nailed it. I just did get to work at 8:01z. Just couldn’t get to moving.

CLady glad you have running water again.

Molly just read about Kiddo, she was having a rough day.

    Everyone take care

  39. Airwolf says:

Afternoon, it’s not warming up much. It was 16 earlier! Have I mentioned lately that winter is not my season!!

  40. parrotmom says:

    AW not my season either.

  41. cardinallady says:

Evening. At work. Gotta get this done. Promised myself I”m leaving in half an hour. Me and Tuck are having a good time here though.

  42. parrotmom says:

Good morning hope everyone is well. Have a good Thursday.

  43. msblondie says:

morning gang! I promise I will not complain about the heat in the summer if you just turn the heat up a little right now. PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!

Got Bingo tonight with my vets. They get their Valentine tonight. I really enjoy going and visiting but it is getting hard as so many have passed. When I started doing this 15 – 16 years ago had nearly 80 that played, now I am lucky to have 20. Oh well, I will show with a smile and hugs for them all.

    Everyone have a great day!

  44. cardinallady says:

MsBlondie, I understand your pain. We are now beginning to lose more of those Korean War and Vietnam war vets, too. Seems like many of the World War II vets are almost gone. I remember helping the lady with the American Legion honor the World War I vets at the 75 year anniversary of that war being over. There were only five in Pontotoc. Next year, we mark the end of World War II. I wonder how many of them will be here?

  45. Molly says:

Mornin. I saw a few snow flakes last night at the Flowood Walmart. There weren’t really enough to call it a flurry, but there were quite a few flakes swirling around for a couple of minutes. Didn’t see any when I got home a few minutes later.
Kiddo is having another one of her long days. She had to be at Hinds CC by 7:30 this morning for a DECA competition. It will be over around 4:00 and she has to be at work at 5:00. Then she should get home by 2:00 am. I don’t expect to see her tomorrow until close to time for her to be back at work at 5:00.

  46. msblondie says:

    morning gang! IT IS FRIDAY!

Well I had a full house last night – 23. That is the most we have had in months to play. I had quiet a few new players as well. Also found out I lost 1, 1 got to go home, and 2 were in the hospital. I do have a great bunch – they look after me as much as I look out for them, it is great.

    everyone have a great day!

  47. cardinallady says:

*chink* *chink* *chink* there now, got the ice chipped out of the way. How are yall this COOOOOLLLLLDDDD day. Speaking of snow, I noticed my gulf coast got the snow. *siiiigggghhh* Oh well, I guess it is alright. They don’t get as much snow as we do. I’m hoping our turn will be next weekend. I’ll get all my warm clothes washed up tomorrow.

Ohhh my chef is here with some treats!

  48. Legal Eagle says:

MsBlondie, I know how you feel I play bridge with quite a few men and women in their 80’s and 90’s. One of the men, 94-years-old, drives himself from north Jackson to Pearl on Thursdays, to Flowood on Mondays and to another game on Wednesdays. He’s amazing, as are so many of them.

  49. parrotmom says:

Evening all. It’s friday night. Hope you all are doing well and staying warm as you can.

  50. Cardinallady says:

Evening y’all it’s Saturday at 6:41 cardinal son and I are at the laundry getting warm clothes washed and dried. Five degree weather is headed our way again. So I have to get all the layers cleaned. When we get through with this we are headed for a steak supper. We haven’t been on our monthly date and this is the last Saturday of the month

  51. Cardinallady says:

Oh I forgot to tell y’all I took my Christmas tree down today. And I even took down Santa and the reindeer. I hot glued them to my wall above the fire plac the first Christmas we lived at this house in 1999. It was unreal howich the light has faded the wall you can still see a shadow of them

  52. Clucky says:

Mornin! Woke up to sneezing and runny nose at 430. Took a Benadryl but couldn’t go back to sleep. I’m working at the daycare today for a half-day with the fun ones-love the 4-5 year olds :)
I’m digging in for the fight for a real (nursing) job! I’m so much better than even six months ago. Praise The Lord!!
Just letting y’all know I didn’t fall off the earth!! After this weeks freeze & snow, it’ll be topless weather next weekend. Woohoo!! Putting my baby in the shop this week :)

WHY AM I PERKY ON A MONDAY MORNING?!

Btw, Mom’s house is sold! Yay!

Love y’all. Take care, stay warm and be careful! I almost hit a doe in my Miata last night. Pucker factor: 86/100!
