  1. Mrs. H says:

Good Morning! Mr. H made it up the mountain to Canta.

Here’s what he had to say: “It was cold and wet last night but this morning is clear. Scorpius so high in the sky is odd to me. Looking forward to what God has in store for the day.”
Followed by this: “50 degrees and a cold shower will wake you up.”

  2. parrotmom says:

Good Monday morning at 6:10 am. MrsH, so glad you are able to stay in touch with MrH and yes a cold shower at 50 degrees would wake a person up. I had a rough long weekend. So wish I could get another hour in, but maybe I should try a cold shower instead of a warm one.

  3. dhcoop says:

    Mornin

I’m mobile, but barely. MrsH, isn’t it great you can stay in contact with MrH? !?

  4. parrotmom says:

I was just wondering how you were doing, Coop? I wonder how lil sis and hubby are.
I am sore from all the work this weekend.

  5. Barb says:

Sorry I never made it back on yesterday. Appreciate the sympathy Coop and OB. That post I made was the only time I was up off the heating pad yesterday! Back is still bad, but have to go to work 9:00-7:00 today because I cannot afford to go to the doctor.

    Prayers for PromQueen.

Coop, hope you are moving better today.

  6. OldBopper says:

Barb, a suggestion: Cold is better than heat. Put some ice in a plastic bag, wrap it in a dish towel and apply. You will be surprised. Learned that from a physical therapist friend.

I think PQ is ready to get the procedure over with so she can once again eat and drink liquids.

  7. Ann Onimous says:

Good morning, my friends! Prayers for PQ and Barb: man, I know how hard it is to do anything with a sore back, Barb. I’m so sorry.

We’ll be celebrating this weekend: Thursday is IG’s last radiation treatment if the microwave (as he calls it) holds up. It was out last Monday, so they had to cancel all their appointments. He has a sore throat, so he might be getting a milk shake: but other than that, he’s doing very well. The tumor seems to be almost gone: you can barely feel it. God is good!

I, however, may be looking at surgery. I have a bad case of carpal tunnel in my right hand, and it’s flared up to the point that I can’t do anything without a brace or a heat wrap. I have a ThermaCare wrap around my wrist right now, and it does help: but the pain is excruciating at times. It’s even hard to ring handbells, which nearly kills me. So I have to go to our wonderfully fantastic nurse practitioner to get a referral. Hopefully we can avoid surgery, but I’m not counting on it. But the surgery is very fast.

    • Barb says:

Thanks. It’s my chronic sciatica acting up. No fun!!

    • Barb says:

Just finished reading your post…so sorry about the carpal tunnel. Know alot of people who are affected. Hope it is remedied soon for you with as little pain as possible.

  8. OldBopper says:

Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts for PQ. It means a lot.

  9. Molly says:

Mornin. Didn’t sleep much last night so I’m dragging today. I REALLY wish I could go back to bed. I dozed off just before the alarm went off at 5:45.
Kiddo got home from her school trip last night around 8:00, 3 hours later than they were supposed to. She had a fantastic time and came home with lots of stories. But couldn’t quite get out of bed this morning. She’s still snoozing. Lucky kid.
They had a lot of drama on the trip, including an attempted suicide of one of the girls in the group late Saturday night. She’s still in the hospital in Little Rock. Her parents got there early Sunday morning.

  10. Molly says:

Just saw your post, AnnO. So sorry about the carpal tunnel. I have occasional pain in my wrists and I know that constant pain would be horrible. I hope the nurse practitioner can help you out without surgery.
OB, tell PQ I’ll be thinking about her today. Mom’s boss broke his wrist over the weekend. Don’t know if he needs surgery or not.

  11. parrotmom says:

Hey all. Prayers for PQ, Barb, AnnO, and others. I was too worn out after all the work from the weekend I had to crawl back into bed. Getting ready now to head on in.

  12. cardinallady says:

Morning everybody!! I am so sorry everyone is having a hard time moving this morning. I can almost understand that. I was worn out from riding in a gator for seven hours last Saturday but two ibuprofin, one asprin and a night’s rest got me over it pretty much. I was still tired somewhat yesterday.

Mama helped me get over it. Daddy called while we were in church and asked us to bring some newspaper over. Mama’s hen was hatching out chicks. I was excited and rarin’ to go see the babies after that. About to take Cardinal Son to habitat this morning to help and going to go check on mom. Please pray for her. She has been in the bed since last Wednesday. Congestion has her all stopped up. She has consented to go see the doctor today PRAISE the LORD to get some medicine to knock it out.

    Gotta fly! see y’all later.

  13. msblondie says:

morning gang! what a morning already. Got M to school.. tired and sore.. She has State choir contest today. Hubby texted me about 615 letting me know that 55 was blocked at Mcdowell rd. I figured by 845 it would be cleared out – no such luck.. then terry rd was lane in spots. Made getting to work fun.

    Prayers for all!

  14. Legal Eagle says:

Happy Monday everyone and prayers for all of you!

  15. Airwolf says:

    Morning folks. Prayers for everyone.

I have a good case of bronchitis and have pulled a muscle in my lower back. Hanging out on the couch with my ice pack.

  16. parrotmom says:

Best of luck to M today.

AW sorry for the bronchitis and AnnO I know how much you love to ring the bells. I hope they can get you better, but if that severe you may be facing surgery. Sounds like we all had a pretty ruff weekend.

Marshall so glad RFTS was a success.

  17. Barb says:

Went to work, but boss sent me home since I cannot even stand up straight!
    AW, sorry about the bronchitis.
    Prayers for all in need.

  18. Molly says:

Barb, I know you haven’t felt good. I’ve had a problem with sciatica since my back surgery 3 years ago. Ironically, that didn’t bother me BEFORE the surgery. The surgery cured what was ailing me at the time and caused something else. Thankfully mine is not very severe and doesn’t usually last long. Although the day after my surgery, I was begging them to cut my leg off so it would stop hurting.

  19. parrotmom says:

Molly prayers for the girl and her family. So glad she was found before it was too late.

Barb I hope you find something to give you some relief.

  20. parrotmom says:

Hoorah for IG and his upcoming last microwaving. I hope the machine dosen’t break down again.

Clady what is a gator? I have you pictured being on the back of an alligator :)

    • Ann Onimous says:

      That was my thought! :D

    • cardinallady says:

LOL!!!! You ladies need to get out more.
A gator is a fancy ATV . Picture a golf cart with big wheels that can go through mud and stuff. It’s a little higher end than the usual four wheelers you see folks running around in the woods on.
It has a windshield and this particular John Deere model had an electronic dump bed. The guy got it so his wife could dump out yard stuff. It is used in the woods for tracking deer or in this case, tracking folks. It went up to 43 mph on the road. However, it’s NOT like riding in a car. I was sore and tired because once out of the gator, climbing through mud and clay was invoved. But it was FUN.

      • blues4you says:

Having met cardinal, I’m tryin’ to picture her roaming around out in the woods…..it’s just not coming into focus:)

      • parrotmom says:

CLady I knew what a gator was. I just had to share the visual. yeehaw, you go girl!!!!

      • Ann Onimous says:

I had no clue what a Gator was. I was sincerely picturing a big green thing with lots of nasty teeth. Glad to hear that wasn’t the case.

And yes, I do need to get out more. :D

      • Mrs. H says:

There are lots of gators in George Co. Around the church, however, they just use golf carts. There is usually at least one parked here somewhere.

  21. parrotmom says:

No lunch today since I picked breakfast on my way in. I had a lot of phone calls when I got here still trying to work through them.

  22. Mrs. H says:

    I checked the bracket.

My eldest is up against someone named mackey from UMass-Lowell in the first round of the tournament. For this round, they will be forecasting for Oklahoma City. They forecast the high and low temperature, precipitation and wind speed for 2 days. They will do Monday-Tuesday. Wednesday, scores will be announced and then whoever moves on will forecast for a different city for Thursday-Friday.

    I want a Cinderella shirt!!

  23. Mrs. H says:

Mark suggested a new FB friend for me: a taxi driver in Lima. I’ve tagged several pictures of Mr. H sightseeing under Juan’s guidance.

  24. msblondie says:

lunch was subway… M texted me.. they got two Superiors and 1 excellant at contest this morning. So this was a good year for them.

CL: I understand about the gator completely. The nephews had a power wheels one they would tear up the yard with…

Everyone keep and eye on the weather.. we might have another nasty monday..

  25. Airwolf says:

After reading our comments, it appears we’re a gang of walking wounded!

  26. OldBopper says:

PQ is out of surgery. Doc came by and said everything went well and he expects a full recovery. She will have a cast on the wrist for a week then he will remove it and put her in a removable splint for a while. Thanks be to God!

  27. Mrs. H says:

OB, Tell her we’re praying for her.

  28. parrotmom says:

So glad PQ did fine with her surgery.

    MrsH that is really cool.

  29. Legal Eagle says:

    That’s great news, OB!

Speaking of broken bones, breaks are more prevalent as we get older. I have 2 friends who broke legs last year. One tripped over her dog and even though it has now been a little over a year, it is a non-healing injury. The other one just stepped out onto her patio and her leg broke in 4 places.

  30. dhcoop says:

    Good news OB!

Looks like the weather is going to hit right in time to mess with traffic.

  31. OldBopper says:

Have PQ at home. Went to Brandon Discount Pharmacy to get her prescriptions filled. I walked in, about 8 or 9 people were waiting for their medications. They had 8 pharmacists behind the counter and three cashiers…all were busy. I checked the clock. Seven minutes later I had the prescriptions in hand headed out the door. Sure beat the heck out of the nationwide chain we dealt with the other night….one pharmacist, one cashier, one customer, two prescriptions, and 20 minutes. Just saying.

  32. parrotmom says:

Good to hear she is home and comfortable.

  33. dhcoop says:

    Evenin! Rain moved thru quickly.

Home about to watch DWTS with Mom.

  34. Mrs. H says:

For some reason (probably related to paternal DNA) my girls are Top Gear fans. We are having a marathon on Netflix.

  35. Mrs. H says:

Oh, Mr. H’s luggage is still in Lima. He’s now operating from Canta, which is about 66 miles (107 km) northeast, but 2 hours away due to narrow winding mountain roads. Delta says it will be delivered tomorrow. He has such a positive outlook, though: “I was blessed with a nice wool jacket for $15!”

    • parrotmom says:

MrsH, I hope he eventually receives his luggage. I had a friend and his was lost from Las Vegas back to home and none of it was his. He had one shoe not his size and so on.

  36. parrotmom says:

    Nite lite is on!!!
