7:11 a.m. Everyone got to Peru fine, except Mr. H’s luggage. Hopefully it will turn up today. If not, in his own words, “It’s an adventure!”
Mornin!
I’m looking like my avatar this morning. My eyes are swollen from crying, but will be okay.
Just talked to lil sis. She and her hubby are going to meet me at 4 at my office downtown, and then we’ll figure out where to park for the RFTS!! I can’t believe I am doing this, but…
Mrs.H, glad Mr.H got there ok! I’m sure he can manage without luggage for a few days! He’s inventive, right??
Morning! I’m looking forward to my first 5k! Coop & I , along with Hubby will tackle the streets of Jackson today!
oh, and according to my phone, it’s 7:34 a.m.
Good morning everyone, my post last night is waiting for moderation. Let’s see what this one does.
Good morning everyone, my post last night is waiting for moderation. Let’s see what this one does.
I had typed on the wrong line and had two i’s behind my email addy.
I wish all of you well at RFTS today. Good luck :)
Coop I would have swollen eyes too!!!! The funeral sounded so lovely.
Good luck at the RFTS, Coop and PNC!!
Thanks, Barb. I’m gonna need it! I really should have prepared better. Now I’m getting a little nervous. I just hope I’m not the last one to finish.
Morning folks. Coop I’m sorry about the dog.
I cut three huge lawns yesterday. It made for a full day and some stirred up sinuses.
I hope the Run from the Sun is a huge success and yall have an enjoyable time.
Hoping RFTS is a success for all. Sorry I can’t be there but I’ll be thinking of you.
MrsH, glad to hear they made it to Peru.
PD’s cousin called at 7:30 and would be heading our way to paint the garage. Still no sign of him.
LegalE I left you a voice mail. I want to see if BE would be interested in something?
Grrr, wrote a long comment and lost it. Still waiting for our group to be called.
MrsH, just saw a pic of ABC’s Bible Drill shirts on the screen :)
I was rockin a big ol crying headache earlier, but took a big spin in the whirlpool and slept a couple more hours and it’s better. Now to figure out appropriate attire for the RTWS.
It was great talking with you, Parrotmom! I will ask BE to call you when he gets home.
I got my laugh of the morning a while ago while reading my CL. The JPD had a prostitution sting called “Operation Love Them and Leave Them.” I can’t think of a more appropriate name and it just grabbed my funny bone!
I’m looking forward to RFTS and seeing everyone who will be there today.
I saw IG, Casper and LilO a few minutes ago! They didn’t see me, but that’s okay.
LilO said, and I quote: “Tell her I’m deeply sorry that we didn’t see her, but we didn’t know what their shirts looked like!” :)
Drill went very well! I got to help judge three groups, one youth and two childrens. One of the children’s groups happened to be… ours. I got to watch LilO drill after all: and she earned a Superior. We are so proud of all the children from our church.
Casper! Wildly appropriate, considering how pale the boy is! :D
12:34 and still no one to paint the garage. Just used the chain saw to cut down a bush/tree that died last year I guess due to the dry weather. I don’t plan on digging up with trunk until winter. It is hot outside. I can’t wait to have fun with the weedeater shortly.
Having fun with the weedeater. Taking my time. the breeze is very nice. I wouldn’t mind a few more fluffy white clouds a little more often.
I’m waiting on lil sis and BIL to pick me up around 4 to “go walkin”. Sheesh. I still can’t believe I’m going to do this!! LOL!
Congrats AnnO to your crew!
I still have a major crying headache, but hoping it will pass before the RFTS begins. Just passed the Carters Jewelers temp sign and it said it’s 100!!
AnnO so glad LilO did very well. I am sure all the children participating did a good job too!!!
I hope PNC, Hubby, and Coop have a great time with no injuries.
At the RFTS!!
Ann, I assume IG was in a red shirt. Your daughter was unmistakable :) Her face lit up when their group was called. That girl was EXCITED!! All of our kids made SUPERIOR! They were group Q, which I think was the last children’s group.
We stopped to eat and shopped a little. Chicklette’s BFF is staying the night. So glad they like to be outdoors :) What a pair of giggling girls!
I hope Coop took her knee brace just in case. Mr Fab just messeged me that hismmom cooked dinner!!! First time she has cooked in MONTHS!!! Woohoo!!
IG was indeed in a red shirt. LilO said she was excited because her group FINALLY got called and it was torture waiting: but I don’t feel sorry for her, after hearing that you guys were group Q and she says there was an S group. She was in H. No sympathy at all. :D
Clucky, our shirts are unmistakable. Glow-in-the-dark orange! Mrs. Jen did a great job of designing them.
Today has been a great day. I found an Easter/graduation dress at Target for less than $18. It’s a deep emerald green linen shift that is very classic (non-trendy) looking. I love it and they only had one and it was my size! SCORE!
Run From the Sun was great and so was Fingers Taylor, seeing Marshall, Coop, pncpanther and Bloggerman! And I have another Marshall t-shirt to add to my treasured collection.
We did it!
Good job everyone!!
Congrats to all of you that participated and completed it. Yea!!!
WHEW!!! I’ll tell you what, at about mile 2 I was thinking trying to do something just because my lil sis was doing it was NOT such a great idea!! LOL! But we did it! My goal was to do it in less than an hour, and I did it. 54:49. I need a shower, but right now I’m just sitting and chilling.
Made it to Gtown, but my oil light is coming on and my truck is knocking bad. I just had an oil change not too long ago, and I checked and the level is fine. Not sure what’s up with that.
It was great to see Marshall, Leagle and Bloggerman today!! But, I can honestly say I’m WHOOPED!!!
Coop, I am so happy for you. You rock.
Congrats, Coop!! YaHOO!!!!! Congrats to Pnc & Hubby, also.
Congrats to all the drillers!!
PM, sorry your help didn’t show up to paint.
I have a blister on my pinky toe! :(
Thanks LE :) he said he fell asleep and woke up after 12:00 noon. He says he will be here at 8:00 in the morning. PD told him it had to be done tomorrow.
Coop so sorry for the blister and you did great to finish it under an hour.
I am very, very tired, so I am calling it a night! Sweet dreams to all!
Barb, I am also very tired. Thanks to cleaning up a garage, chain saw, weedeater, most fun was the riding lawn mower. Then I went to try to push mow the back yard and the mower died on me. Plenty of weeds knee high. Not ready to give it up yet, but will hate in the morning.
Nite lite is on.
Coop thanks for posting, PNC must have been more tired than you or your adrenaline (sp) is hyped up. Thanks for your posting.
Congrats coop and Lil Sis, way to go! Also Congrats to the drillers.
We had dinner with some friends and went to the Improv at the Link Center. Enjoyable evening!
Good night 10:50 pm.
Just before 10 p.m. I went to tell the girls to go to bed. I thought it was Monday night! Where did that come from? My days are all mixed up and Mr. H has only been gone 1 day. BTW, he’s supposed to get his luggage tomorrow…
7:40 am Good Sunday morning. I hurt all over. I hope all you that walked yesterday are feeling fine today.
Mornin!
Surprisingly enough, I can still walk! I’m a bit sore, but other than that, not too bad. I will be doing a little hot tubbing in a little bit!
Where is everyone?
11:15 I am here. PD’s cousin showed up today. I went and had to buy 2. 1×6, 12 ft boards to replace what had rotted from water coming into the garage. The garage will be “Pool Blue” it is very pretty. The other blue had faded to look more white than anything, no telling how long ago I painted it blue. Nothing like pulling your car into what appears the sky.
Going to go give the parrot his shower.
It’s going to be a steak throw down today, part 2. The chef did pepper steak last week and I’m doing Swiss steak today. May the best man or woman win!
Hello,
Prayers for all. Watch the weather.
Sitting at the reception desk this morning, my phone buzzed. It was a FB message from Mr. H. Since I was sitting at a computer, I logged on and chatted with him for about 20 minutes. First time I’d heard from him since he left Friday morning. His luggage is supposed to be delivered to the hotel in Canta, but when Mark’s was late, he had to pay a Peruvian gentleman to go down the mountain and pick it up at the bus station.
Glad he’s going to get his luggage MrsH.
I’m being TOTALLY lazy today. May have something to do with the fact that I walked THREE MILES in the heat yesterday and I’m not quite used to that. But, hey…I did it!! I’m still real proud of myself, although I am still fussing. I guess it’s okay to be lazy now and then, huh?
I have an update on Friend. I waited to say anything until I just got a positive update. You all know I was really worried about Friend losing Jesse and what it might do to his health, physically and mentally. We buried Jesse Friday night and he was already talking about needing a buddy. Not to replace Jesse, per se, but to fill the void. I do not normally advocate replacing an animal quickly, but in his case, I felt that it would be a good idea. We talked about shelters, etc. that he might could visit Saturday. He said he wanted (needed) another boy.
Anyhoo…talk about divine intervention…when I stopped by to check on them on the way to the RFTS yesterday, Friend was holding something. It looked like Jesse but with some applied black hair dye on his back. I was like, WTH?? I got out of my truck and squatted down and Friend put this pup down and said “go to Aunt D”, and he came straight to me. This dog is 3 yrs old, looks JUST like JJ, except with dark hair accents…same body, same height, same build. A little tow-truck of a dog. Apparently, his vet had called him (the vet knew of Jesse’s death). A lady had witnessed a dog being thrown from a car early Saturday morning, had stopped to pick the poor pup up, not sure if it might be severely injured. He wasn’t. She took him straight to the vet, who took one look at him and told her that he knew exactly needed to foster the dog for the weekend, and called Friend. Friend went immediately to the vet. Apparently, several other people had tried to approach the dog and were barked or bitten at, but when Friend opened the cage, the dog jumped into his arms. Needless to say, Friend had an angel looking out for him yet again. I just talked to him and he said that Jesse James Junior (we are going to call him Junior) had a nightmare last night, but that after he got over that, he was fine. He’s convinced (and I am too) that the dog was traumatized by being thrown from a car and was having a nightmare about that. Who could blame him?? When I talked to Friend while ago, he told me that Junior was sticking close by his side, is getting along well with Breezy, and is making himself at home. And that he would never have to worry another day in his little life. He has to take him back to the vet tomorrow to get a final checkup and approval, but I do believe I now have a new doggy nephew named Junior.
That’s wonderful!! Tears in my eyes as I type this.
Afternoon, everyone! Home , down in my back. First time I’ve sat up today. Hope you all are having a great day!!
Hate to hear you are down in your back! That smarts!
I’m now realizing that lil sis was right when she told me this morning that the second day can be worse that the day after what we did yesterday. I just got up to go to the bathroom and my legs didn’t want to go!! LOL!! I may have spoken too soon about feeling fine after yesterday!
Coop that is wonderful news for friend. How ironic. It reminds me of the stories you read about in “Guide Post” Mysterious ways. It sounds like Junior was meant to be :)
Ok. Definitely spoke too soon.
I was too whooped last night to fool with the jacuzzi. I think tonight it is going to be priority.
I am really sore from the use of the chain saw and weedeater. I could use a jacuzzi too!! The garage is finished and looks great.
Where is OB is today. He usually checks in or I have I forgotten something. PQ has her surgery tomorrow.
I have been lazy today. (whats new right?) only time I got up was to take Thing 1 to work since Mr Fab took the truck to the coast. I should have just T1 take the car, but I am too paranoid. She made it home from prom without any new scratches :)
I MUST do laundry and clean house but it feels like I am glued to the bed.
Everything is back in the garage. It is a beautiful Blue. PD thinks I am nuts but what else is knew. Soon to be through with my wedding from March. I just need their music will email the mother of the bride tomorrow.
Evening folks! Early church this morning then stopped at Denny’s for breakfast. Have a PT job ushering at the M Braves games and we have to be there 30 minutes before gates open, so I had to be there at 11:30 today. Came home from the ball park, took a quick nap, watched the end of the Masters, fixed us some supper and did the dishes afterwards. So, just getting around to getting on line.
Barb, sorry to hear about the back. I pulled a muscle about a week ago and wore my lumbar support several days. Haven’t for the last three days, but I know that old muscle is still a bit irritated. Nothing fun about back problems.
PQ has to be at the hospital at 10:30 in the morning. Don’t when they will get to her, but I hope it’s sooner than later for her sake. She’s done real well and I’m hoping for a speedy recovery following the surgery.
I am feeling like someone took a sledgehammer to my legs. I think it’s time for the hot tub, and not too much later, bed.
OB, please tell PQ I’m praying for her.
checking in finally. busy weekend.. Oldest Nephew won the soccer tourny he was playing in.. in 4 games gave up only 5 goals. Pretty good for a 11 year old. The younger one didn’t win any of his games but he did score a couple of times.. he still got a medal – they give all the U7 and U8 teams medals. Needless to say we were are burnt even with sunscreen on… the sun was just bearing down on us at the fields.. hard to escape it. M has funny lines from her ref clothes. She isn’t happy with prom a week from thursday.
Fixing to get ready for bed… State Choir Contest tomorrow for M.. so gotta have rest.
OB – prayers for PQ hope all goes well in the morning.
Well, rats! I saw Mr. H was online a bit ago, but couldn’t get him on chat. Now he’s offline. : (
I miss the soccer games and tournaments.
I think the steak throw down was another tie since I had tomatoes in my gravy and he didn’t. But mine really was better.
Coop, anyone who would throw a dog from a moving vehicle just needs to be shot on site. It gives me the chills to think about it and make me wish I was real big with a big tire tool in my hand. I am so glad friend got Junior just when he needed him. Isn’t God good!?!!!
Yes, God is good!! Leagle, I’m looking forward to the day when you can meet Friend! Y’all will hit it off good!
I just got done with a spin around the jacuzzi and now am going to get settled in for the night. I decided to spend another night in Gtown.
It’s 7:28 a.m. in the UAE. according to this computer. 10:28 p.m. here in Gtown, MS. sounds like bedtime to me… Y’all be good.
10:33 pm nite lite to all!!!
1041 here in the Boondocks. Got T1 from work them moved the a/c that was in our spare room next door. So glad I did-it was too hot to breathe!!
While I was over there, I caught a glimpse out of the corner of my eye in the front bedroom we are using for storage until we break up housekeeping. I unfolded it, and it was a quilt-top Mom made while Daddy had cancer and was taking treatments that she finished piecing just before he died. I want to make the quilt now-get the batting and fabric for the back-but I have never undertaken a big quilt on my own. My ex MIL and her Mom would always quilt my tops for me. It’s been over ten years since I have made one. I have no clue where my quilt frames are, but now I have inspiration to get that room that used to be Chicklette’s that was intended for a sewing room/study in order so I can use it. Too many critters to leave it out…speaking of critters, I was so happy to hear the gift Coop’s friend received. Sometimes we choose our pets, but isn’t it wonderful when they choose us!
We found the litter that had been moved from under my bed last week. The one we thought was solid white is actually a seal-point Siamese-and a boy! Out of both new litters, we have 6 males and 1 female. WHEW.
OK, now 2253. Everybody call me at 630 in the morning and make sure we are up. Mr Fab’s not here to wake me up :(
Prayers for PromQueen tomorrow morning!
It’s 5:34 and I’m up and the coffee’s ready. I don’t have Mr. H here to get me up either, Clucky. And he always makes the coffee.
I just opened sugar bowl and at first, thought there were ants in it. Now I realize they are brownie crumbs. We dip the bottom of our brownies in sugar (like fudge squares from Primos). I guess El put the leftover sugar from the little plate back into the sugar bowl. Extra brownie goodness in my coffee this morning!
