Happy Easter friends. I hope you have a great day celebrating a risen savior!
Good Easter Morning!
Nothing to truly wake you up like the sound of your MIL hitting the floor in the next room. We were awake and sitting on the bed talking quietly when she fell. She’s ok, but so very weak. Her white blood count is rock bottom; usually, she would have been hospitalized and transfused but for some reason the doctor decided not to do so this time surprises us. She has lost almost 30# since starting treatment, and most of her hair is gone. She is tired and wants to ask the doctor if she can take a break-once again reminding us how close chemo comes to killing someone to save (what’s left of) them. Please remember her in your prayers this week.
We didn’t make the beach yesterday, so I’m sure we will go later today. The in-laws wanted all of us to go to church this morning, but when I found out how low her white count is, I told her we would have to stay home. They had not even thought about that.
prayers for ya’ll
Clucky, how scary!
HAPPY EASTER!!
Happy Easter!!
Prayers for your MIL, Clucky.
Happy Easter to one and all. Praise God from whom all Blessings flow!!
Prayers Clucky for your MIL. If you don’t make it to the beach you will have one very upset Chicklette.
As Marshall said:
Rise and shine (Happy Easter)!
I’m so sorry to hear how the chemo has devastated Clucky’s MIL’s body! Staying home with a very low white count is the right thing to do. Bless her and all of you. May God give her the strength to fight and overcome this! Orville and I can feel hers and your pain.
Orville and I got home Friday evening. No real answers, yet, except that they’re pretty sure he has gastroparesis (on top of the Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma). If he doesn’t get satisfactory answers and treatment plan next week when he sees his
GI specialist then we’re going somewhere that does specialize in gastro conditions, even if it’s out of state. He can’t continue to be afraid to eat in fear that his stomach will shut down causing him to be unaable to keep anything on his stomach, insuing cramping and severe dehydration, which is going to cause kidney damage if it continues, not to mention the stress it causes his heart with the high b/p and pulse when these episodes happen. He’s been trying to recover from this attack and has been tired since we got home, so we’ve been taking it very easy this weekend. Unfortunately, that has also meant that we haven’t been able to go to Easter sunrise service nor have family over for celebration of the day. We do plan, however, on going to pay everyone a short visit today (on our timetable).
Thank you for all the prayers and may the blessings of the day shower down upon you!
Prayers for Orville and you CornPop. The one thing they told PD in Houston is, “cancer will change your life” and it forever has.
Clucky, prayers for your MIL. I hate y’all are going thru that. You too, CP. Orville needs to catch a break SOON! BTW, I can’t wait to tell you about Friday. Let me just say it was “outstanding”. heh.
I woke up during the night and did some more damage to Big Sis’s house. Trying to make sure its sufficiently trashed by the time she gets home Friday. Something got all of the eggs during the night. There are just a few pieces of eggshell scattered around.
Happy Easter everyone!
Happy Easter!!
We had a glorious service at church this morning. The choir was at their usual best backed up by the pipe organ and a string quartet. The minister brought a sermon that was “over the top”. Her sermons are always good but today it was extra special.
Prayers for Clucky’s MIL, Orville and Cornpop, and Legal Eagle.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
What is your most memorable Easter ever? As a child I would wake up on Easter Sunday to the most beautiful new Easter dress that my mother had made for me. I never knew or told her how much that meant to me. I usually griped because I never had store bought dresses but every was in a while. We would go to my grandparents on my Dad’s side in Canton out in the country–I can’t find the place now, but my brother knows where it is. We would go out to what they called the Lake in the Pines and have food and hide eggs. My brothers in their white shirts with skinny black ties some times just a plaid sport shirt. Thankfully we have pictures to help remind us of those times.
I remember when Big Sis saw the Easter Bunny.
I bet that was a ‘happnin’.
She swears to it to this day. We were up at Grandmother P’s. Ask her about it. She’ll tell you she saw him.
seriously. Who thought it was a good idea to put a queen sized comforter in an envelope and call it a duvet?? It’s washed. It’s ironed. Now HOW the HECK do you get it back in???
Prayers for Orville and Cluckys MIL.
Hanging out at the farm. Bear had his egg hunt as he does every year.
This Easter is going to be memorable. Our youngest daughter accepted a marriage proposal this afternoon! A fine young man who will make a great son-in-law. I’m happy for them.
So you were right, OB!!
Congratulations!
Just made a round trip to Podunk to check on and feed kittiekids, then to CS to pick up Friend. Drove on back to Gtown and he’s now headed back in my truck to (hopefully) get the AC finally fixed tomorrow. It still farts cold air every now and then, but mostly not. I’ll be borrowing my BILs truck for the day tomorrow. That’s okay, though, since I plan to get it detailed for Big Sis so it’ll be nice when she gets home Friday.
Congrats on the new SIL-to-be OB!! Glad you like him!
Congrats to your daughter OB :) Hey keep me in mind for a videographer.
Evening! Happy Easter!
We left this morning for church, went to the MIL for lunch, then my parents for supper. If anyone is hungry it is their own fault. We had a lot of fun visiting family. It was fun watching the kids yes even the big ones hunting eggs.
Hope everyone has had a good day and had a good evening.
Prayers for all in need.
Coop, how is your friend doing with the new dog?
Thanks for the prayers. Pop did call home health to come check her over (at my insistence), and the nurse was going to call Gran’s doc in the morning to let them know how weak she is and hope they will transfuse her. She’s had to get blood after every round of chemo. This time she disn’t, and it shows. They are ao sweet-I may stink at choosing husbands, but I choose delightful in-laws :)
We did spend a couple of hours at the beach. I was under one of the little
Sun shelters with just my legs getting tanned. I went in the water with Chicklette for 15 minutes, and burned on my back, neck and shoulders. Mini-Me is quite red herself, but will be honey brown by morning. She is out of school tomorrow-sure would
Love to stay home with her.
Almost to Laurel, should be home around. 10. Straight to bed I’ll go!
CP, there was a med we used for gastroparesis about 15 years ago, but of course it has been pulled off the market. Good luck-I have IBS, which is just the opposite. I know he has to be miserable.
OB, congratulations on your daughter’s engagement! I hope PQ is doing well after her surgery. Gran let me borrow her lap quilt frame so I can get started working on Mom’s quilt top I found last week.
Coop, I cracked up at “farts cold air,” and had to read it to Mr Fab and Chicklette. LOL.
Have a good evening.
