    Mornin

Prayers, for sure. I couldn’t believe the news this morning about Alabama. Just awful.
    6:15 a.m.

  2. Mrs. H says:

    Wow!
That’s about all I can say about yesterday…

I think my eldest has electricity back this morning, but since she’s done with exams, I’m not calling this early (6:28 a.m.). She told me last night they were grilling everything in the freezer. I think all the guys that live at her boyfriend’s house were there for the feast.

  3. Legal Eagle says:

    Good mormomg! Heh!

  4. parrotmom says:

Good morning again it is 6:52 am. I agree the scenes are horrible. Prayers and hugs!!

  5. OldBopper says:

G’mawnin’. Terrible storms yesterday. Prayers for all who were adversely affected.

Opened windows in the bedroom last night and slept like a baby. Enjoying this cool front for the day and a half it will last.

Had my first motorcycle ride in traffic yesterday and did well even if I do say so myself. Did some country roads first though. Planning to hit the streets again today and tomorrow.

Saturday is going to be my last day at the ball park. Good people, good organization, but no consistency in hours. Some nights, two hours, some nights four or five. It’s all over the board. Not worth scheduling my personal life around. Soooo, gonna buy tickets and take PQ to the ball games as we have the last seven years.

Hope everybody has a good day. Thoughts are with those affected by the storms.

They reported 150 tornados in the past 24hrs making a total of 600 tornados for the month of April so far. The pictures in Tuscaloosa are horrible. I talked to my mother’s youngest sister who lives in Fairfield which is sort of on the south/west side of Birmingham. They did not have any lights but another Aunt by marriage lost the sunroom off her house in the Pleasant Grove Community. It has been so many years of being in the area not sure where that is in proximity to Birmingham.

  7. parrotmom says:

Time to go to work see you folks after while and for JB remember I love my JOB especially at the end of the month :)

  8. OldBopper says:

I don’t object to asking political candidates to show their birth certificates to prove their citizenship where that is a requirement to seek an office. No problem and it should have been done much earlier. But the responsibility for such action should rest with the executive committees of the political parties who must certify their candidates to be on the ballot. So everybody in the primaries should show their proof of citizenship prior to the primaries.

I don’t think anybody should have to show their college transcript to anybody if they in fact have a degree from the school.

Having said that, let’s see Donald Trump’s birth certificate and college transcript as he is demanding the same from the President. It’s the old, “I’ll show you mine if you show me yours” routine. So cough if up Trump or have you been trumped.

  9. Legal Eagle says:

MrsH, check this website. These are the only specific criteria to be President of the U.S.

  10. dhcoop says:

Managed to get to work without my wallet OR my glasses. Good thing I keep a spare pair in my desk and that I can write a check at McDades for $25 over purchase.

  11. msblondie says:

morning gang! hope all is well.

I am still trying to find out about friends in Tuscaloosa. Did finally get a hold of M’s father. He is ok. He watched that monster pass his office. Looking at some of the pictures last night, I see places I used to shop and go to gone. Even where I worked.

Prayers for all. This has been a scary spring.

  12. The Real JB says:

So sorry to hear the devestation down there. My neice who is in nursing school had a good friend who was injured, children injured, lost her husband, lost her grandmother, and step father in the storm. It is amazing how pretty of day it is today…the day after.

Picture 58 of this slide show is Mark’s uncle’s house. A cousin tagged Mark in it on FB and this was one of the comments: “I helped get things out of the house. Your dad and Keith were truly blessed. I really don’t know how they got out of the bathroom. ”

Mark is in Atlanta at a conference, but told me he has talked to his family and they are ok.

  14. Molly says:

Yes, JB it is a gorgeous day today. I just can’t quite comprehend the pictures I’m seeing from yesterday’s storms. It boggles the mind. I know of people in the Tuscaloosa who are still unaccounted for. My neice watched that monster go through Tuscaloosa. It was very near her, but far enough that she was safe.

How rough did it get up your way, JB? I saw some pictures of uprooted trees in Bowling Green. I need to check with Scottsville friends and see how they are. In the middle of all the storms, they found my friend’s body. I wonder if raging waters dislodged him from a tangle of roots or something. The article said he was floating behind Johnny Cash’s house. I don’t know how far that is from where he went overboard.

I think I want to find out where Jim Cantore has never been and move there. If he hasn’t been there, the weather should be good.

  15. Barb says:

Morning!! The devastation yesterday is truly appalling!! Prayers for all affected!

  16. Legal Eagle says:

Our little 12 Pounds of Starving has been yelping for no apparent reason and yesterday after I walked her, she came back in and ate her treat and then started yelping and trembling all over. I called the vet and made her an appointment and then had to go to Brandon to play bridge. When we were on our last hand, they told everyone to go get in the vault. I called BE and he was on his way and the vault was full of people, so I went out and got in the car with him and the baby with sirens going off big time. As we drove west, the sky started turning blue. The vet gave her some anti-inflammatory drugs and said her hurt was from jumping off the bed.

I never got a chance to get on the compter yesterday at all because after Survivor was over, BE went to bed since he had only slept about 3 hours the night before with the bad weather. I sent Marshall a FB message about his available dates for the pick-a-nick and when I get back from the Pearl bridge game this afternoon I will get back on that project. Sometimes there are just not enough hours in the day. I wonder how I ever had time to work.

  17. Legal Eagle says:

And JB, I want you to make a special effort, whatever the date, to get here this year!

  18. The Real JB says:

My dad and sister own a chicken farm together. Their company Lady Forest closed shop and they are without another mother company. Koch foods said they will not take on new growers until January and then will require massive updates which means sinking back into debt. Tyson hasn’t even called them back yet. They are afraid they are going to lose their farm. Huge note to pay without chickens being grown.

  19. Airwolf says:

Just got back from picking up my JD. They can’t figure out what happened to it. They opined maybe a little water in the fuel. I don’t think so.

Utter destruction in Smithville. They are still recovering bodies. Same storm hit Phil Campbell and Hackleburg Al. Our church is collecting items to deliver.

I’m still finding items from Smithville on my property.

    • The Real JB says:

Dang…these tornadoes were just all over. This sure has been a wacky weather year between our icy winter to now this.

  20. parrotmom says:

I have taken the time to review the pics of the storm damaged from yesterday.

Now to prepare for near record levels of the MS River. I wonder who will be affectef by any flooding. Gee, a lot going on all over the world.

Marshall I loved your drawing of Haley today. awesome job.

  21. parrotmom says:

Molly I loved your comment about Jim Cantorie.

    I hope Pnc is ok?

  22. Barb says:

    WHO is Jim Cantorie?!

  23. Airwolf says:

Jim (Angel of Death) Cantorie from the Wrather Channel. He shows up destruction follows.

  24. The Real JB says:

yeah with Jim shows up…you better leave.

  25. OldBopper says:

Rode the bike to the bank this morning and used the drive up window. Then on to the Post Office. The package is on it’s way MrsH.

Took PQ to the Dr. this afternoon. Things are looking good. Ordered PT and told her to come back in four weeks.

Casper and I wen for a spin this afternoon and had a nice 20 mile ride on a country road.

Oh AW, remember the heart cath I had a month or so ago. Had to pay the hospital $788. Yesterday I got a refund from the hospital for $788 overpayment. Between Medicare and TriCare I had 100% coverage. Just thought you would be interested since you will eventually be on both.

  26. Legal Eagle says:

OB, I have a Mutual of Omaha supplemental policy and haven’t had to pay hospital or any of the 3 $3,400.00 eye exams out-of-pocket.

Attention, MRBA! I have talked to a ranger at Roosevelt State Park and their pavillions are still $40.00. Pavillion #1 is closest to the pool and they go back in number from there. Pavillion #1 and 4 are available on June 18th and # 3 and #4 are available on June 11th. I’m still waiting to hear from Marshall, but let me hear your comments in the meantime, por favor.

  27. parrotmom says:

Legal I am good with any date until possibly August but we don’t want it that late due to the heat.

  28. Ann Onimous says:

Here is what some radio show hosts put together after Jim Cantore “visited” Paducah, KY. He retweeted the video: it’s one of my personal faves.

  29. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

Leagle, I’m good with any of those dates.

Surprised, but really not surprised, that Casey was just voted off AI. He is a fabulous musician, but just a little too “out there” for typical AI fare.

Big Sis is somewhere over the ocean by now, I expect. SHE’LL BE HOME TOMORROW!!!! WOO HOO!! I am SOOO looking forward to seeing her!!!!! I may have to check Delta flights and find out exactly where she is.

  30. OldBopper says:

Casper and I just rode from my house to Trustmark Park in Pearl and back using Hwy 80. Good experience in traffic at night with varied speeds. We’ve been just over 50 miles today.

  31. dhcoop says:

OB, it’s kinda freaking me out that you are on a bike, but if you are loving it, then ok. I’ll deal with it.

Big Sis is passing Iceland and is halfway to Atlanta!! http://www.delta.com/flifo/servlet/DeltaFlifo?airline_code=DL&flight_number=0007&flight_date=04/28/2011&request=main

  32. parrotmom says:

OB glad you are enjoying the ride. Coop, thanks for the update on your big sis. Nite lite is on. The kittie girls are back to their what was normal a couple of weeks ago. I have now know that Itty Bitty is a Bully girl :)

  33. cardinallady says:
