    Good luck to Bug, Coop.

PNC hope you and cub have a good day together.

AW, sounds like Bear is growing up some, but he will be back.

  2. Legal Eagle says:

Happy Pearl Day! Y’all come out and join us for a fun filled day and a free Diamond Rio concert at 8:00 p.m.

Good morning, and Happy Saturday! I love my job, but it sure keeps me hopping. I have no time to have fun anymore. Maybe later as I get used to it all. I’m really getting on the job training: as in someone telling me, “Hey! Are you aware you’re supposed to be doing this?” followed by me responding, “Why, no! Can you show me how?”

Clucky, I did sing! Check yesterday’s FFA. I feel horrible that I couldn’t get in here any earlier to wish you a Hippo Birdie. :(

I had to make a deposit yesterday at Trustmark. The drive thru lanes were stacked so I went inside for a change. I struck up a conversation with the young teller asking the usual “are you having a good day and so on”. Then I told her that I used to work there back in early 80’s. She then asked my what operating system did we use back then. She was shocked that we did everything manual. We had an adding machine with the paper roles. We had no machine that counted out the correct amount of cash to give to the customer and on Friday’s we had to balance our teal with our in and out slips. If we couldn’t balance you would have to do it all over again and sometimes they head teller would have to double check your stuff and no one could leave until all the money was accounted for. She was stunned and in disbelief that we did not have computers back then. I guess she was probably wondering if we had electricity back in the 80’s.

I worked for Hancock Bank in Gulfport in 1962 and 63 in the personal loan department and then moved back to Jackson and worked for Deposit Guaranty Bank from 1963 till 1966 in the commercial loan department. I handled the SBA loans and when someone made a payment on them, I had to manually figure how much the SBA got and how much the bank got. We balanced every afternoon and stayed until everything was even, if we were only a penny out of balance. And about once a month we ran trials until about 10:00 at night when we took every paper loan in the department and made sure the whole department balanced.

    LOL@PM!

Had 3 hours of sleep last night…been up since 630, working in the yard since 7. I’ve overheated twice. Time to bring it inside. Check my FB for a
Pic of me when I get overheated…not purty.

Not sure if we are going to the concert or not tonight. Too much we want to do-got the Kilz, etc to get Chicklette’s room ready for the big change from an all boy room to the room of a Princess. She wants lime green walls.
Goo thing she’s too young to drink. Heh. Already has her “Put your big girl panties on and deal with it” sign hanging on the door!

    Later, taters!

  6. Clucky says:

    Goo = Good. Sheesh.

    Birthday popcorn is awesome :)

  7. Legal Eagle says:

Well, Cluckster, I’m sorry you’re too busy popping popcorn to get to the concert to see your friends, but if I have to I will give you a rain check until June 18th.

  8. Legal Eagle says:

    Hello! Is anybody out there?

Cluckster, I hope you know I’m just joshing you!

  9. parrotmom says:

    I’m here part time.

  10. parrotmom says:

I wonder what time Bug’s deal was today? I hope she did/does well :)

  11. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

Well, the Bug is now the newly crowned Miss Teen Clinton!!!! BUT…..before you get TOO excited, I must tell you she had NO competition. Literally. She was the only one in her age group. HOWEVER, she was absolutely stunning and would have won anyway! This does mean that she will be going to Vburg to compete in the Miss Teen Magnolia in November, and then she WILL be up against some serious competition. Since she wasn’t raised a pageant girl, it will be interesting to see how she does then. :)

I am proud of her for doing it and had a great time watching all the different age groups parade for the crowd. It was fun. They had them from 16 months up to 28 years old.

It was a fun day with my girls!

    • parrotmom says:

Congrats to her for doing it. I am surprised there were not any others in her age group though. I hope you can post a pic of her all decked out?

  12. OldBopper says:

Dang, guess I didn’t qualify for the rapture. And I’ve been a good boy, just ask Santa.

I’m here to report there are no more oysters available, I ate them all! JK.

Whe we checked out at the Commissary at Keesler, the old gentleman who was bagging our grocieries asked PQ if she paid by credit card. She said, “Yes”. He said, “Good move, with the end of the world coming, you probably got free groceries.”
I’m sorry American Family Radio has to resort to such stunts to gain publicity.
    Off my soapbox.

Hope everyone has a good Saturday evening.

  13. Airwolf says:

I went to Good Giant and picked up some Blue Bell, 3 for $13. Last sale was 3 for $12. Dang it’s good. I’m trying Delta Blues!!

  14. Airwolf says:

    Food Giant

  15. Clucky says:

I was wondering what a Bad Giant sold! LOL

Leagle & Co, we flaked out about 3:00 and slept til 7. OOPS. Combination heat and
Working our tails off in the yard caught up with us…along with the lack of
Sleep last night. Doing laundry now. @DiamondRioBand isnposting
Pics in real time from Pearl. My green eyes are flashing! Leagle, I sent u a message on fb since all my email addresses for the MRBA are at work.

I’m looking forward to SNL tonight-it should be great. Justin Timberlake is hosting, and he is HILARIOUS!

G’nite, check in tomorrow. So proud for Coop-Bug is a doll! (She looks a lot like her Mamaw but don’t tel Coop or that frog will have a big head :) )

  16. Legal Eagle says:

Pearl Day was fabulous and thanks to our Mayor and other city officials, it’s always free and wonderful family entertainment. Crossin Dixon was great and I may be old enough to be that lead singer’s mother, but I can still look. Check my FB page. Diamond Rio was great too but as the woman next to me said, “They’ve got grey hair.” Since I’m probably old enough to have grey hair myself, that didn’t matter at all.

  17. dhcoop says:

Thanks Cluckster! Bug is a doll, and it’s probably scaring her that she sees pics of me at 17 and they look like her and then she sees what I look like now… ewww…

Leagle, glad you had fun!! I don’t do country music, but I actually know who Diamond Rio is and like their music. :)

Big Sis got home safe tonight and we are going to spend the day together tomorrow. It’s beddy bye time here now, though, so I’ll say good night. Love Y’all and I’ll check in tomorrow.

    Porch lights are on…

  18. Mrs. H says:

Took the girls to see Pirates yesterday. Then shopping afterwards. Mr. H was working on a project for my bike until he cut his finger and then decided to knock off.
    Sunday 8:21 a.m.

  19. parrotmom says:

Good Sunday morning to you all!! May you all have a blessed day :)

    The time is 8:44 am!
