We’ll be making scientific sound today at VBS. I’ve got some noisy stuff!

  2. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

MrsH, I want to see pics of square bubbles!

  3. Mrs. H says:

I don’t know if we took any pictures of them, but here’s where I got the idea:

I made my apparatus out of drinking straws and hot glue. I didn’t buy his.

After having my hands in bubble juice all day, they were incredibly pruny all afternoon. My fingers had just about recovered when it was time to do it again for the parents at family night. My favorite line from yesterday: Bubbles have 2 natural enemies: dirt and oil … make that 3 natural enemies, if you count toddlers! If they see a bubble, they are compelled to pop it.

  4. Molly says:

Mornin. Had to come in to work early today and now I’m all alone. I like being here alone…so peaceful.

  5. OldBopper says:

Mawnin’ y’all. PQ is home, life is good.

Don’t know if you followed the story about the 77 cadets supposedly injured by lightning and sent to the hospital including 3 sent by ambulance. If you read the Hattiesburg American on line you will learn that none of them suffered any injuries. A lightning strike hit a utility pole in the area. The three closest were sent by ambulance and the remaining 74 were in the vicinity. Talk about being blown out of proportions.

  6. msblondie says:

morning gang! hope everyone have a great day!

  7. blues4you says:

Whew, these forced retirements are killing me when it comes time to go back to work.

I’ve been busier than a cat in a sand box since 5:00am.

  8. Airwolf says:

Morning glories! Hotter than who’d have it.

Blues I’m glad you’re back on payroll.

I trust PD is still improving!

  9. dhcoop says:

I’m making soft tacos for my boys today. They are happy!

  10. parrotmom says:

PD has complained of neck pain and have kept telling them the brace could not be on correctly. I studied the manual last night and determined the problem. Someone from physical therapy was to come up today and fix the problem. The back side of the brace is to overlap the front of the brace and the tabs are to be even in length ot the front—-NOT!!!! the left side is correct the right side they have the front overlaping the back and the tabs are not even in the front. I hope this has not messed up anything. Still waiting on the all the paper work and stuff with insurance to be completed so he can go on to the next step. If it happens today I really want tomorrow off but on the other side I think if I go in a lot of folks may come around to check on us and keep me from working so get it over tomorrow that way Monday will be more productive. Just thinking aloud we still don’t have the definite answer.

Love and hugs to all and thanks for the prayers.

Blues I haven’t been on retirement but I will probably get more of rest going back to work than what I have been through since late June 1st. Good luck with this new/old job.

  11. cardinallady says:

Flying trough! I, like Blues, have been in the kitty box today covering it up before it covers me up. Be back late.

  12. Molly says:

Kiddo just had a platinum streak about 2 inches wide put in her hair on one side. I’ve only seen a picture so far. I thought she was going to have a narrow blue streak done. Her daddy is NOT going to approve! Oh well, it’s her head and she likes it. That’s what matters.

    • Molly says:

Ok, Kiddo and BFF were messing with me. They had to bleach out the stripe first, and then turn it blue. Actually they turned it blue and purple. I still haven’t seen it in person. Still, I was expecting a narrow streak, not 2+ inches in width.

    • msblondie says:

molly : at least she didn’t chop 10 inches of her hair without you knowing about it like M did with me. We have been through the streak in the hair, that was last summer. But you are right, it is their hair and it does grow out.

  13. Mrs. H says:

I had a small science-related accident this morning and now my glasses need reshaping. I hit myself in the head with a 5-inch diameter irrigation pipe trying to swing it over my head. My glasses took the brunt of it and now they are slightly lopsided, which doesn’t work well with progressive lenses.

PM, glad you could figure out the problem. Keep up the good work!

OB, Mr. H and I are headed to B’ham on the bikes next week: my first long distance trip!

  14. cardinallady says:

Okay, I’m bushed I’ve got a meeting tonight so I’m gonna fly. See yall tomorrow.

  15. Legal Eagle says:

When I was a teenager, we used plain old hydrogen peroxide to bleach strips in our hair. They were a lovely orange.

  16. parrotmom says:

Molly, it sounds cute. I hope dad is ok with it.

MrsH sorry for the mishap but I bet the kids loved it. I agree nothing worse than having lopsided progressive lenses.

  17. parrotmom says:

We were told again today that insurance has still not approved the move. I want them to approve it but they may as well wait till Monday to make the move. If they move him tomorrow he will miss out on therapy and why make it inconvenient on us after all this time. He can go Sunday or even early monday and they could have in line for his treatments. You just can’t figure out what they may be thinking?

  18. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

PM, I’m sorry you are having to deal with this. Wishing you and PD well.

  19. parrotmom says:

    thanks Coop.

I am watching the moon again. It is a half moon here in couple of hours will be out of my site.

  20. dhcoop says:

Eating coconut fudge ice cream with peanut butter. YUM

  21. Molly says:

Hey, PM. I hope the hospitals and insurance company can their acts together soon for PD’s sake, and yours.
Hubby just rolled his eyes about the blue hair. He thinks it is a waste of money.

  22. Barb says:

PM, hopefully your insurance will come through soon.

  23. Barb says:

Molly and LEagle, when my oldest sister was 12 or 13, she and a friend somehow managed to turn her hair green!!

  24. Legal Eagle says:

Swimming in a choloranated pool will turn bleached hair green!

I’m getting out of here so BE can sleep.

Only 1 week plus till the pick-a-nick!

  25. OldBopper says:

Evening. We went to the M Braves game tonight. They are being soundly thrashed. I think we are lacking in talent, but it is expecially noticable when they lack enthusiasm. They need a good kick in the rear to get them motivated.

Blues rode out your way today. I know you are back at work, but if you would, send me your telephone number at Oldbopper@yahoo.com.

BTW, I need one for MrsBlondie. I met two blonde ladies sitting on the first row in the section you said you usually occupied and neither one was you. They were very friendly and polite though.
