Fireproof

I looked up the soot covered steps and could see the sky.  Fire had burned a sunroof into their home.   My friends guessed that’s where the lightning hit. Their lives changed in a flash.  And a boom. Their house was a charred ruin.

Thankfully they made it outside.  Unfortunately, not many of their possessions made it with them. But their family was safe. And so was the family dog.  That’s all that matters in the scheme of things.

They had friends and family helping them — an army built on love.  Sure, they lost their possessions, but what really mattered in their lives was totally fireproof.  (Wasn’t that a movie?).   They had people who care.  And no flames on the Earth can touch that.

I’m sorry to hear this. Is there anything tangible we can do? Any immediate needs we might could meet?
