Have a large ham in the oven covered with pineapple chunks & juice mixed with brown sugar, about to peel potatoes to cook & smash them, going to make a mushroom gravy, heat up English peas with butter and rolls for Sunday lunch with folks, kids & grands – oh & grilling up hot dogs for the picky eater in the family (but is working on making him understand that this isn’t Meemaw’s Restaurant).
And, a very HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to you!!
Orville and I were married for 26 years before we stupidly divorced, were apart for 3 years, I moved back in & we lived together for almost 3 years then remarried this past November…let’s see…how many years is that now?!?!? :-D
LOL@Coop! Orville and I don’t quite know what date to celebrate as our anniversary now…the original date was July 7, 1978 – remarried on November 5, 2010.
We celebrate everything: the day we met online, the day we met in person, the day he proposed and the day we got married. One can never celebrate too much, IMHO.
Good Sunday Morning to you all at 9:30. I hope you all have a blessed day. Blues your dinner last night sounded awesome, now CornPop is cooking an amazing meal. My I need some real food.
Lot’s of good sounding meals lately. We went to early church and had breakfast afterwards at Denny’s. Absolutely nothing planned for the rest of the day.
Morning! Sitting on the porch with a nice gulf breeze blowing listening to the veritible plethora of hermit crabs we picked up on the beach yesterday evening moving around and clicking in their container. We had to round up a few escapees this morning :)
Yesterday was beautiful. The service was very sweet; the pastor was a close personal friend of the family and bless his heart, he cried as much as anyone. For the 3rd time, I got to hear “Precious Lord, Take My Hand”…this time, the lady singing the song also played piano, and did a bluesy rendition-and MAN could she SING! I wish I had it recorded-the best I have ever heard it done. We had many of her paintings there too, which was a neat touch. Mr. Fab did the eulogy, and made me proud. The Things came down too (along with a couple of friends) and stayed last night to celebrate their 20th birthday :) Before sunset, all the family met on the beach and played with the kids-catching crabs, flying kites…it was a very nice ending to a long day. Thanks y’all for all of your kind words and prayers over the last several months. Poppy is doing well…he’s actually keeping my Miata *GASP* for a couple of weeks and I’m driving home his “still has that new car smell” Murano. Oooh, throw me in the briar patch :)
Put the windows down in the truck to let the heat out. It started raining before I knew it. Inside of my truck is now wet. Yay me! Sun is now out. Still thundering.
I just realized that the reason I was talking to myself was that I was still on yesterday’s FFA where I logged in this morning before today’s FFA was posted. Hello!
Happy Anniversary to Boss Man and Boss Lady!
Is this what you are looking for, pncpnthr? If it is, this is the recipe I’ve always used:
Original NILLA Banana Pudding
Prep Time: 30 min
Total Time: 50 min
Makes: 12 servings, 2/3 cup each
3/4 cup sugar, divided
1/3 cup flour
dash salt
3 eggs, separated
2 cups milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
45 NILLA Wafers, divided
5 bananas, sliced
MIX 1/2 cup sugar, flour and salt in top of double boiler. Blend in 3 egg yolks and milk. Cook, uncovered, over boiling water 10 to 12 min. or until thickened, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
RESERVE 12 wafers for garnish. Spread small amount of custard onto bottom of 1-1/2-qt. baking dish. Cover with layers of 1/3 each of the remaining wafers, bananas and remaining custard. Repeat layers 2 times.
BEAT egg whites on high speed of mixer until soft peaks form. Gradually beat in remaining sugar until stiff peaks form. Spread over custard, sealing well to edge of dish.
BAKE 15 to 20 min. or until lightly browned. Cool slightly. Top with reserved wafers just before serving.
I knew it was big sis looking, but pncpnthr posted a message to you last night and since I didn’t see an answer, I decided to answer for you. Hah! Little did I know at that time that I was still on the wrong day.
I just saw that! My bad! I thought you were having a senior moment, when it was actually ME that was having one!! LOL!! OK, so everyone is up to date on nanner pudding recipes, right??
I have been working inside the house today, all more floors except the den have been vacummed. I finally have rehung all the caps down our hall way. I had one nail remaining. No holes or hats left. That was strange. No dusting done, but I can finally get into a bedroom most of the way. I told PD when I take off in September we need to go through the pictures from his mothers and distribute them accordingly. That would clean the bed off. I still haven’t finished the courtyard, maybe later.
Time to fix the parrots veggies, last night I totally forgot until 7:00 pm his bedtime, no wonder why he was such a chatter box he was hungry. I did the kittie girls just as bad I fed them at 9:00 pm. I was such a bad momma, Shame on me!!!!
I did some more on the courtyard. Almost finished all but one corner that no one would see, I will try and pull up the tall weeds before Wednesday. Then I need to spray the rest of it. Per our rain gauge only 3 1/4 inches of rain for the month of July. I think it is time to go back to work for a break. Although, I am moving from one cube to another with a view. I don’t have to move all my stuff tomorrow just the essentials. I hope everyone had a good day.
Nite to all :)
Well, good morning, Starshine!!!

Realized I should have clarified – HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to Mr. & Mrs. MR on 18 years of wedded bliss! :)
Happy Anniversary CornPop & Orville!
Lunch sounds wonderful! Sounds like you and I were both on a pork & pineapple kick this weekend.
Marshall, did you play at Phillips again last night?
No, we played at a local fundraiser.
LOL! I just jumped over to fb and realized what you had meant. Ok, let me try again!
Happy Anniversary to the Boss and his beautiful wife!
LOL@Coop! Orville and I don’t quite know what date to celebrate as our anniversary now…the original date was July 7, 1978 – remarried on November 5, 2010.
Just celebrate BOTH!
Amen Coop!

Happy anniversary Boss!
Insert popcorn comment here.
YEAH, popcorn is good any time of the day or night – I prefer mine slathered with butter! Also excellent for dieting… ;-)
Good Sunday Morning to you all at 9:30. I hope you all have a blessed day. Blues your dinner last night sounded awesome, now CornPop is cooking an amazing meal. My I need some real food.
Morning!
Happy Anniversary to the Boss and Mrs. Boss!!!!
Happy Anniversary to Boss and Real Boss!

PS The Murano is at least 5 yrs old, and I rolled ythe odometer to 40K last night. WOW.
Wow! My Sorento will be two in November and it’s got 46k already.
Clucky, I’m glad the service was all that and more.
I just heated up leftover porkchop, potatoes and beans from last night. Still have plenty to take for lunch tomorrow. And it’s still awesome!
Happy 18th anniversary to the Boss and Mrs. Boss.
Clucky that sounds like so much fun!!! So glad the service went very well.
Happy anniversary Boss!

Leagle, it was Big Sis looking for her nanner pudding recipe, NOT lil sis (aka pncpnthr). And this is the recipe on the Post-It inside her cabinet:
2 eggs
1 C sugar
2 T flour
2 C milk (petmilk)
1 t vanilla
1/2 t salt
That’s all it says, but apparently it was enough, because Big Sis posted on fb earlier that she had made banana pudding.
I knew it was big sis looking, but pncpnthr posted a message to you last night and since I didn’t see an answer, I decided to answer for you. Hah! Little did I know at that time that I was still on the wrong day.

Thanks for the recipe, LE. I’m going to save that one! And the one from coop, I guess…jk.

We got one drawer cleaned out and a lot of junk thrown away and found about $3.50. Now that’s incentive to clean out another one.
Sound like LE is treasure hunting.
