    Mornin!

    I am! Up, that is.

Just watching the news and saw Coach Ricky Black. He was my drivers ed teacher back MANY years ago in KO. Always liked him. I missed what school they said he was at now.

    Headed to the shower.

  2. Mrs. H says:

Saw the International Space Station going over this morning on our walk. Didn’t see any of the Perseid meteors this morning, but I think I saw one yesterday. Tomorrow is the peak.

  3. parrotmom says:

Good Thursday morning, happy day to all :)

Prayers and hugs to all in need.

  4. OldBopper says:

Good morning! Had wierd dream last night about wood flooring, AW, and trains. Like I said, it was wierd.

Think I’m going to make salsa today.

    • Molly says:

I plan to make salsa while I am home at lunch as well. Stopped at Kroger on the way in to buy the one ingredient I was missing. Quesadillas are on the menu for tonight.

  5. Molly says:

Mornin. Kiddo’s BFF is staying with us a few days. Her grandparents are going out of town and she still doesn’t feel comfortable staying with her father, particularly on weekends. I think she is staying with him a couple of nights next week, but it will pretty much be only long enough to sleep. She has band after school and won’t get home till about 6 and then will leave for school by 7 every morning. Hopefully there won’t be enough time for him to beat on her. He’s trying to be on good behavior still, though, because the Court is keeping up with his actions. I think behaving is tough on him; he hasn’t had much practice.

  6. msblondie says:

morning gang! Well M had a great 1st day of Senior year yesterday. She had 3 classes and got out at 1:30. Today she has 4 classes and won’t get out early. I think the 4 classes is only this semester.

Things are getting back to normal here at work it has been 2 weeks of pure craziness.

I need to get busy.. everyone have a great day and stay dry.

  7. Airwolf says:

Morning folks! I mowed my lawn here in town yesterday. Today is my 8 acre day at the farm. Looks like the drizzle is going to dash those hopes.

OB I hope your dream wasn’t too terrible. I got a tick on me mowing yesterday. I felt ticks crawling most of the night!

  8. Crystalbutterfly says:

    hey all!!
just wanted to thank everyone again for theier prayers for my uncle, last night the doctors told my aunt there was nothing else they could do and that needed to think about taking him off the life support they have him on but this morning the bleeding has slowed way down and his heart and blood pressure was up so they have decided to wait and see what happens next—GOD IS SO GOOD!!!!! keep praying!!!!!

  9. parrotmom says:

Molly how are you and kiddo doing since last weeks accident.

    Salsa sounds awesome.

  10. cardinallady says:

Morning. Flying through. Gotta go to a highway digging. Ms Ramona they are officially shoveling dirt on that highway your husband has helped us get started. :)

Remind me to share a funny story about my press badge and my silly brain when I return.

Oh, and please pray for a friend of my nephews in Virginia. He and his brother were playing yesterday, one got caught in a tree and was hung. The other brother tried to help, but couldn’t. Sometimes when we don’t have the words for grief, God does. how thankful I am for that.

  11. The Real JB says:

Son just started the first day of his new job.

I need to sell some insurance today. Any takers?

  12. dhcoop says:

    I’m hungry.

  13. parrotmom says:

JB great news for your son. Dressing for success does help. what type jobbis it?

  14. parrotmom says:

CLady how did things turn out regarding your job position?

  15. Crystalbutterfly says:

    great news JB

  16. The Real JB says:

Son is working at a pizza shop. He is starting out as the busboy but will eventually be a server.

I had the monte cristo at Cheddars. Had lunch with one of my troopers.

  17. OldBopper says:

Salsa is made. My recipe makes 3 quarts. I started making it several years ago using fresh tomatoes. Then I wanted some in the winter so I bought canned diced tomatoes and found they work better because I can get consistent measurements.

Mine uses tomatoes, jalapenos, green onion, bell pepper, cilantro, salt, black pepper, and a wee bit of sugar.

    • Molly says:

I also use canned tomatoes. Then add cilantro, ground cumin, white onion, some chopped garlic, jalapeno, lime juice and salt. I think that’s it. I threw it together at lunch. It’s best after it sits a while, but I had to have a few bits with tortilla chips. Yum!

  18. Molly says:

PM, Kiddo and I are doing ok. We both still have a little soreness. Kiddo is stiff and sore right at the base of her neck. Mine is in my shoulders and lower back. Where I already have problems.
Talked to the body shop guy a few minutes ago. He said Allstate still has not determined liability and won’t pay anything until then. So, my van is in pieces at Capitol Body Shop and will stay that way until Allstate gets their act together. What’s to determine??? We were stopped and the girl rammed us. How could that possibly be our fault? Oh, well…in the meantime I am driving a 2011 Toyota Camry and I really like it. Kiddo wants a Camry so bad she can taste it. And this is making her want one more. Hope we win the lottery soon!

  19. parrotmom says:

evening to everyone. a couple of you sure has made me hungry for some salsa and chips. I might have to hit El Sombrero this weekend :)

  20. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

I think the rain today cooled things off a bit. I don’t think it’s but 99 or so. heh

  21. parrotmom says:

    I agree Coop, a cool 98 or 99 degrees :)

  22. Barb says:

Evening! Had one of those days at work where I worked hard all day(when I was allowed to be in my department!)but feel like I did not really accomplish anything!!
    Okay, rant is over!!

  23. dhcoop says:

Big Sis in Venice. lil sis at Chicago concert. I’m in Gtown playing Angry Birds on my Android. What is wrong with this picture??

I WILL say I’m glad they are both happy and having fun. And, actually, I’m happy and having fun too, so, there!

  24. parrotmom says:

Sounds like the sista’s are having a good time. Gee, to go out or away would be awesome!!!

  25. OldBopper says:

I think Boule and I will journey to French Camp tomorrow morning via the Trace.

  26. parrotmom says:

    OB enjoy the ride :)

    Nite lite to all!!!

  27. dhcoop says:

Just talked to Big Sis. I thought they would already be in Venice by now, but they are at the airport in Dubai. Have a two hour wait. All is well. She’ll be there by our tomorrow. Her today. It’s hard to keep up with the time since its 7:40 in the morning over there (Friday) when I am posting this. The moon we are seeing right now she saw several hours ago. How weird is that??

I’m going to bed now. Exhausted.

  28. OldBopper says:

Headed out. Boule and I are hitting the Trace. Catch y’all later. Have a great day!

  29. parrotmom says:

RIde with the WIND—OB!! 6:33 am.

  30. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

    OB, y’all be careful!

  31. msblondie says:

morning gang! everyone have a great friday

  32. cardinallady says:

Morning! Happy Friday everybody! It is a beautiful day around here. Cloudy and FOGGY!!!! YES!! You do know what fog means don’t you? For every fog in August you get a snow in the winter!

Alright, I just realized I didn’t tell y’all the story of how bird brained I am. Saturday I spent six straight hours outside covering the Bodock festival. I was tired out when I went home to rest. I took off my press pass and tried to attach it to the new necklace I bought, but that didn’t work so I pinned it up “where I wouldn’t forget where it was.”
Well, I searched for it Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday. I wasn’t so worried about the press pass itself because I make my own it was the fact that my cardinal pin was attached to it that made me want to find it. Thursday morning I was brushing my teeth and I happened to glance at the cloth wreath that hangs on my bathroom door and guess what was attached to said cloth wreath? *siiiiggghhh* I’d been walking by it several times every day. I think I’m getting old.

  33. Airwolf says:

    Morning!

I’m going up to the farm hopefully to mow. It rained there yesterday evening. I won’t know how much until I get there.

Hope everyone has a happy Friday.

  34. Barb says:

    Morning!

  35. Legal Eagle says:

Hey, y’all. We had our quarterly high school get together last night at Lone Star in Pearl and had one of the driest mushroom, swiss burgers I’ve ever tasted. It’s great to see my classmates often because after 50 years we have finally slowed down long enough to get to know each other.

  36. The Real JB says:

Was looking at pics of those men killed in that helicopter crash. Very sad. War is a terrible thing.

I’ve got a Panera really close to where I work. Their Asiago egg, cheese, and bacon bagel is awesome. I love asiago cheese.

  37. Airwolf says:

Six acres cut, two to go. It is getting hot!

  38. parrotmom says:

Looks like everyone is having a good day so far.

LegalE I saw what street you grew up on did you ever know anyone by the last name of Vincent? They lived down at the corner of the street that ran in front of People’s Jr High.

  39. Molly says:

Hey! I just got back from lunch. The young attorney here has his headphones on and didn’t hear me come in. He’s singing his heart out with whatever he’s listening to.

Allstate FINALLY decided to accept liability. Work may now commence on my van, and Allstate is now paying for the rental. Hallelujah!

  40. OldBopper says:

Afternoon. Put almost 200 miles on Boule this morning. An interesting ride in that I had rain for about half of it. Drizzle, slow rain, hard rain….rain anyway you want it. I stopped early on and put on my rain gear. I had never used it. The only thing that got wet was my shoes. The rain gear did a wonderful job.

I was pleased with the way the bike handled in the rain. Unfortunately on the Trace there are no bridges to stop under. So I just kept going. There wasn’t much traffic at all. I think three cars passed me going up and two or three passed me coming back on the Trace. With the light traffic, no heavy trucks, and good pavement, the Trace is an easy ride for a cycle.

The visitors center and adjacent resturant in French Camp were closed. The visitor center in “K” town was closed also. That’s twice I’ve tried to stop at the “K” town visitor center without success. Don’t rush in there with a heavy bladder. The restrooms are inside.

I think I have discovered a personal challenge for Boule and me. Got to think about it a bit and will let y’all know later.

  41. Airwolf says:

I got it all cut one more time. Got home and unloaded about 2. I was going to take a short nap but the phone has rang off the hook. I just gave up on the nap! I don’t do surveys……

OB I think you had more fun today than I have. I did pull over and look at a big Yamaha trike conversion! Not interested, rear wheels much to small.

  42. parrotmom says:

good evening. AW so glad you are through for the day and sorry for no nap.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

  43. Crystalbutterfly says:

just wanted to thank everyone again for the prayers for my uncle but the Lord called him home this afternoon please keep our family in your prayers.

  44. parrotmom says:

    prayers for your family CB.

  45. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

Crystal, I’m so sorry dear! Praying for you and your family.

I saw a rainbow on the way home.

  46. parrotmom says:

I love rainbows, I think they are God’s gift to us.

  47. Airwolf says:

Praying for you and your family CB.

  48. OldBopper says:

Prayers for CB and family. Sorry to hear the news.

  49. Barb says:

Prayers for you and your family, CB.

  50. parrotmom says:

    nite to all.

  51. Clucky says:

    Sorry to hear, CB.

We lost one of our local docs yesterday to cancer.

That’s 2 big losses in our town in 5 days. Scared to see who will be #3.

Went out and watched the ISS pass over at 9pm, along with quite a few meteors. Thats why I am still up-meteor watching. I’ve seen two this week that I thought were going to hit me in the head!

Pulling myself up by the bootstraps again, and I feel some big changes are coming. There is a disturbance in The Force, I reckon. The times, they are a’changin’.

    Y’all take care.

  52. OldBopper says:

Headed to McComb today for FIL’s 90th birthday.

  53. Airwolf says:

Morning folks. It’s very pleasant outside on my deck this morning! Be safe OB and enjoy.

    Have a relaxing day everyone!

  54. Legal Eagle says:

    8:35 a.m. 8/13/11
Good morning, MRBA! Crystalbutterfly, I’m so sorry about your uncle.

Parrotmom, I knew someone with the last name of Vinson, but I can’t remember a Vincent.

I need to learn to count my blessings after hearing some of the folks at the senior center talk about their retirement accounts. One said their financial person told them not to look but they looked anyway and nearly had a stroke. I’m thankful that I was too broke to have anything in any retirement accounts to be wiped out. Yea, me!

  55. Barb says:

    Mornin’!

  56. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

Slept in this morning since I was up most of the night trying to see meteors and the SS.

Shout out to my gurfriend CLUCKY! for sending me a text this morning at 5 a.m., giving me time to rush out and find a spot where I could see the ISS coming over. THANKS MY FRIEND! It was very cool.

    9:25 a.m. Saturday
