Short links: News and comment (no-time edition)

Woke up late this morning (after going to bed late.) So this will be a little shorter than I want it to be. The radar is lit up west of the metro Jackson area and there’s still a 30% chance of snow this morning.  I’ll believe it when I see it.

Free-For-All for today is here.

Heartbreak: Many were touched by Elizabeth Edward’s valiant battle against breast cancer. She lost her fight to the monster yesterday — and it sent shock waves through the whole cancer community (anyone touched by the disease) and beyond.  My prayers go out to her family (even scumbag John) and all that are saddened by her passing.

When Strawberry Fields died: It’s been 30 years since John Lennon was murdered. Where were you?

Triangulation: Democrats aren’t so sure about President Obama’s new buddy-buddy deal with Repubs to extend the Bush tax cut. To the President, it’s “back-door stimulus.” That sounds dirty to me.

That’s no terrorist: Meera Shankar, the Indian Ambassador to the United States, got the special “Hello” pat down from TSA agents in Jackson.

Brett Favre watch: Vikings hope he practices on Thursday.

Now to go get the kids up and ready for school. I’ll get back on my A-game tomorrow. Promise!  Now, if it would just snow.
