    Happy Hump Day!

  2. parrotmom says:

Good Morning My Friends!!!!!! Happy Wednesday to everyone :)

I hope everyone has a grand day and if we make it through today only 2 more days till the weekend, Yay!!!!!!

By choice having my blood work done first time since 2009. Other than probably being anemic my cholesterol and some other levels should be back within control (I hope). the last time my cholesterol was at 280. We shall see in a few days. The hart part is I am missing my Diet Dr Pepper right at the moment.

Love, hugs, and prayers to all that are in need.

  3. blues4you says:

    Good morning. @0700hrs.

Sorry to hear about your bad knee CornPop.I sincerely hope that it’s an easy repair job. They know a lot more about parts these days than they did oh say 20yrs ago. I hope they can fix you right up.

  4. Airwolf says:

    Morning gang!

Rambette just asked what I was going to do today. I told her nothing and that I am still on vacation. The burns from those laser eyes should heal in a couple of weeks.

CP I hope your procedure will be simple!

  5. OldBopper says:

    LOL AW!

G’morning. Overslept this morning, but it doesn’t bother anyone including me. AW, I dreamed I was involved in war exercises last night. The only good part was my Dad was participating too.

Hope everybody has a great Wednesday. Looking forward to smelling that ocean air Friday afternoon.

  6. OldBopper says:

Glad I have earthquake insurance on our house. Hope I never have to use it.

  7. msblondie says:

morning gang! Already been busy trying to get ready for meeing here in a few minutes.

    Everyone have a great day!

  8. OldBopper says:

Just finished hand washing the Camry in preparation for our trip. Need to get a coat of wax on it now. We always take the Camry in lieu of the Civic. The gas mileage is virtually the same (2 miles per gallon less), the ride is better, the AC is twice as good and the trunk is much larger. Ours is a 4 banger. Seriously considering ditching the Civic for a 2012 Camry when they come out.

    • Molly says:

The rental car I’ve been in for the last 2 weeks is a 2011 Camry. I like it. And it does have a large trunk! This is the car Kiddo wants for her very own.

  9. Clucky says:

I had the best night’s sleep last night I have had in months! I had an epiphany yesterday morning; my hormones haven’t been changed in years, but every once in a while when the hot flashes kicked in, I could take estratest (has a dab of testosterone in them), it would put out the Fires of Hell-which only a woman who has had hot
Flashes can understand. I talked to my FNP and she called in the new Rx immediately. I would usually be sweating like a horse by now, but NO!! I feel human again!!!
    Wheeeee!!!
Granted, I misplaced my cell phone this morning and was late for work. Tsk…not good, not good at all.

  10. Marshall Ramsey says:

Been crazy busy lately and crazy sick. Bronchitis and being tired have knocked me for a loop. Getting through the radio show lately has been a challenge.

    • Molly says:

I bet that radio show has been hard with bronchitis! Hope you are feeling better now.

    • Legal Eagle says:

I’ve had bronchitis twice in my life, which was 2 years in a row, and it was no picnic. The next year I got a pneumonia shot and haven’t had it since and don’t ever want it again. It was worse than anything else I’ve had except for strep throat and being allergic to penicillin.

  11. Legal Eagle says:

    11:00 a.m.
Funny, Clucky, we had a male voter yesterday talking about his hot flashes.

I came in last night and put my cell phone down and forgot where I put it. When I fixed a cup of coffee this morning, I spotted my phone in the kitchen and it’s been hopping all morning. I had 4 missed calls. When I listened to my messages, one of them was from an 84-year-old man whom I dearly love. He said, “I called to tell you about that woman who died and I can’t think of her name. I’ll call you back.” The next message was from him saying, “That woman’s name was **** ***** and she played games in that other room at the senior center. I can’t think of the name of the game, but it’s played with those rectangular shaped pieces. Well, I just wanted you to know. Ok, bye.” HUH? I figured he must be talking about dominoes, bless his sweet heart. His wife says he has the beginnings of dementia, but he is always laughing and in a good mood. I’ve never seen him otherwise.

I just got my first cup of coffee down, between the messages and incoming calls and my oldest child’s call telling the latest as she rides the bus to her fast food job she secured in order to help take care of her 4 children while in the middle of a divorce from hades. And the sewage leaking across the yard may be from the city’s side – we will see. In the meantime, the pail and trench detail is still going strong.

I have a game at 12:30, at which time I will leave my cell phone in the car and hope I get some great cards today.

  12. blues4you says:

    Lunch today is:……….ahem

Grilled duck breast w/fried eggplant covered in a crawfish cream sauce over fettucinine…and a big ole hunk of french bread………in a sugar cane field in south Louisiana.

I’ll admit this was also last night’s supper and oh my word it is good.

  13. OldBopper says:

    Blues,
The one and only time I was ever in a sugar cane field in Louisiana was late at night with a favorite female friend at the time. There’s lots of privacy in those fields at night. That was about 50 years ago and no, we didn’t do what kids do now. The pill wasn’t invented then. But it was a sweet occasion never the less. :~))

Hmmmm, wonder if I could talk PQ into………..?

  14. parrotmom says:

Clucky so glad you had some good rest for a change.

Blues, that sounds awesome, although I have never had duck before.

  15. parrotmom says:

AW hope your burns heal from the glare without leaving marks :)

  16. Mrs. H says:

I woke up feeling even more unwell than I did yesterday. So, for I think only the 2nd time in 11 years, I called in sick. Mark sent me a text and said he could tell I didn’t feel well yesterday, so I guess I needed to stay home. It’s mostly my eyes and cognitive processes that don’t seem to work well. Probably sinus related. Can’t see straight and can’t think straight. If I went to work, I’d probably mess something up and someone else would later bring it to my attention and it would be harder to fix after the fact than to catch up when I go back tomorrow.

OB, you make me remember college days with Mr. H…… And Blues, there were mosquitoes in those woods, too.

  17. The Real JB says:

Earthquake Insurance – as of yesterday there has been a stoppage in the state of TN of us selling it.

My church building purchase fell through. Another church came in and undercut us with a higher bid. My leadership feels that the higher bid is out of reach for us so it seems to be a dead issue.

  18. OldBopper says:

Sorry to hear about that JB.

Funny Blues, but my memories don’t include mosquitos.

Washed and waxed the car and it rained. Glad I had it under roof.

  19. tank says:

whole lotta shakin’ going on. another earthquake in peru.

sometimes I think I’m going crazy…then I talk to my shrimp eating bff and I feel quite normal. she has came to work without her shoes. she forgot her son at the ballfield one night. she realized it when she was talking to him in the back seat but he didn’t talk back. last week she laid her cell phone on top of her car and drove away. today, she lost her car.

    back to keying thermal figures.

  20. blues4you says:

    Hey tank.

    What’s a thermal figure?

  21. msblondie says:

coop – beware of detours through next week – parts of Wynndale and Lebanon-Pinegrove are close or will be closed for work. not sure which way you travel.

  22. dhcoop says:

Thanks for the heads-up blondie! I vary my route all the time. I’ll be sure to avoid that area.

  23. parrotmom says:

Evening to everyone!!!! Someone has received some rain, not us today, but we had a good bit yesterday.

  24. Barb says:

Computer trouble last night, got up late this morning, so I am playing catch up! My hours have changed at work. 9-5 today and tomorrow, 10-7 Fri., 10-6 Sat, and off Sun. and Mon. Those are supposed to be my regular days off but, who knows?

  25. Barb says:

CornPop, just caught up with yesterday’s blog. So sorry about your knee! Hope the surgery will be as non-invasive as possible. Prayers, sweetie.

  26. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

Blues, you cracked me up with the “cajun fiddle faddle”!!

Clucky, I sure am glad you finally got some rest.

jb, that just sucks. But, I’m confident y’all will find something better soon!

  27. pncpnthr says:

Evening. CornPop, hope all goes well. JB, sorry it didn’t work out. OB, my car could use a wax job, and it’s under the carport.
For some reason I’m very tired tonight. Ready for the weekend.

  28. cardinallady says:

Afternoon! Run off election day is done and I am a whipped puppy even after taking a short nap.

  29. CornPop says:

Thanks, y’all! Should at least find out tomorrow when my appt is to see the orthopedic surgeon & go from there. One way or another, all will be well real soon.

Blues, LOVE the ‘cajun fiddle faddle’ – perfect!

JB, you know there’s a reason for everything – another door will open.

MR, please get well real soon! My daughter has suffered with yearly bronchitis since she was a baby. It’s some rough stuff and, as you know, can make you feel horrible.

    (((((MRBA))))))

  30. parrotmom says:

CP is it this friday that Orville sees his doctor or was that last week. I can get my weeks confused at times.

Coop thanks for mentioning the Cajun fiddle faddle, Blues is a very witty person.

  31. Legal Eagle says:

Coop, you are wise to vary your route going and coming each day. Never establish a predictable pattern because that’s how serial killers and stalkers get to their victims.

  32. Clucky says:

**doing the WE GOT THE RAIN! dance**

    Cajun Fiddle Faddle.
    Heh.

  33. Clucky says:

Dang Leagle. You just gave me the heebies. Not many ways I can vary my route, and as OB can testify, finding the only red Miata in town would not be difficult. He coulda just stopped at the corner and asked where I lived, and somebody woulda told him! LOL!

  34. dhcoop says:

Leagle, I can pretty much say I’m unpredictable. :)

I DO love the idea of cajun fiddle faddle! But I don’t know any cajuns… heh :) j/k

  35. dhcoop says:

Y’all can say THANK YOU to Marshall for this brain itch…

    North to Alaska
Go north, the rush is on

Big Sam left Seattle in the year of ninety two
With George Pratt, his partner and brother Billy, too
They crossed the Yukon River and found the bonanza gold
Beneath that old white mountain, just a little southeast of Nome

    Sam crossed the majestic mountains
    To the valleys far below
He talked to his team of huskies
as he mushed on through the snow
With the northern lights runnin’ wild
In the land of the midnight sun
Yes Sam McCord was a mighty man
    In the year of nineteen-one

    Where the river is windin’
    Big nuggets they’re findin’
    North to Alaska
Go north, the rush is on

    North to Alaska

    North to Alaska
Go north, the rush is on

George turned to Sam with his gold in his hand
Said, “Sam, you’re lookin’ at a lonely, lonely man
I’d trade all the gold that’s buried in this land
For one small band of gold to place on sweet Jenny’s hand

‘Cause a man needs a woman to love him all the time
You know Sam, a true love is so hard to find
I’d build for my Jenny a honeymoon home
    Beneath that old white mountain
Just a little southeast of Nome.”

  36. Legal Eagle says:

I’ve known all the words to that song since the movie came out. Johnny Horton was Mr. Handsome at the University of Texas (I think, or was it A&M? – UT) and he got killed on the way to Patsy Cline’s funeral. I’m thinking he was married to Hank Williams’ widow, but I am on my way to google as we speak.

If anyone ever asks you what my favorite c & w recording of all time is, you can tell them this is it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0Rpk7PHFqs

  39. pncpnthr says:

I really hope Coop can get to this link tonight.

  40. parrotmom says:

I still like watching that movie “North to Alaska” thanks for the memories!!

  41. Legal Eagle says:

I was right about Johnny Horton’s marriage to Hank Williams’ widow, but he died in 1960, before Patsy Cline’s death in 1963. And the Battle of New Orleans is another favorite of mine and yes, I know the words to it too.

  42. parrotmom says:

thanks for that info LegalE. My parents had a Johnny Horton album. I think that is one that came up missing sometime after my mom passed in 1988.

  43. parrotmom says:

    nite folks. Sweet dreams :)

  44. parrotmom says:

Morning all you good poeple. JB I meant to say how sorry that your offer did not go through. I have always been told where one day closes another will open in God’s time not ours. Keep praying and something good will happen.
