Let the Lord be with the East Coast

On this date six years ago, Katrina had raked across South Florida. It was back over open water and was beginning its march toward destiny. The Gulf Coast was just hours away from having its life changed forever.

Today the East Coast sits in a similar situation.  Irene is no Katrina, but it’s still a monster storm. And she’s aiming at a part of the world that is way more populated and way less prepared for a major hurricane.  Forecasters keep talking about how the storm could be the “big one.”  I pray that they are wrong.

Our country is teetering on the edge of a double-dip recession.  A disaster wiping out a major northeast city would push this country off into the abyss.  Not to mention all the individual suffering.  No Katrina survivor would wish that on anyone.

So with that suffering in mind,  I say let the Lord be with the East Coast.  I  pray that you never have a Katrina in your life.

Thanks Marshall for keeping us in mind up here. Since I have been living in RI for the past 7 years, originally born and raised in Mississippi I know how serious these storms can be. The timing couldn’t be worse, 6 years almost to the date of Katrina .

    Just keep everyone in prayer…

AMEN, Marshall. WE know what a Katrina can do and we don’t wish that on anybody.
