  1. Mrs. H says:

Back from our walk. Not as soggy as yesterday.

Coop, Mr. H’s birthday is Monday, but I think he’ll be in Montgomery turning something over to the Navy. I ordered his present on line last Friday and it arrived at my office on Monday! Wow!

  2. Airwolf says:

Morning! I’m playing chauffeur this morning. Mother has an early appointment. I hope she doesn’t have to wait like last time.

  3. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

MrsH, tell MrH I’ll eat a piece of sweet potato pie in honor of his birthday!

Gotta get moving. Slept in a little late.

  4. parrotmom says:

    Good morning, happy hump day!!!!!

AW, those moments on the ride with your mom or dad can become some of the most memorrible ones to go with all the rest of your memories. I remember the last ride PD and I took my dad to the hospital for the last time. He laughed his butt off me riding in the back of a small Toyoto truck getting bounced around. I had just turned forty a little over a week before. It was his highlight that day :)

  5. Barb says:

    Morning! Back to work today.

  6. msblondie says:

morning gang! I am up.. and at work. eye was not as swollen this morning.. but still really sore. I do have a drug hangover though.. got the bobble head thingy going on.

    everyone have a great day.

  7. Mrs. H says:

Mark is having fun substituting the word “church” for the word “Facebook” from lots of FB posts this morning! It is quite revealing…… I’ve heard the same kind of comments from members. I bet JB has, too.

  8. Legal Eagle says:

So, Coop, I know you need help celebrating your birthday, right? BE and I could be the sweet potato pie tasters (just to know they are good enough for a frog queen on her special day).

I finished reading Tess Gerritsen’s “The Mephisto Club” around 1:00 this morning. Now there’s a page turner for you that will keep you up till all hours. The library called and left me a message that 2 more books I requested are ready. I hope they are more of hers. In the meantime, someone gave me the new James Patterson book, “Kill Me If You Can,” and I’m starting it. I have to be out on Lakeland at 11:00 and in Brandon for the game before 12:30.

Unforgettable was good last night. Tonight is my favorite TV night, Survivor at 7:00, then the season opener of Criminal Minds at 8:00, and then the premiere of Revenge at 9:00.

    • cardinallady says:

Legal, LOL! On first read I thought you said your book was the Mosquito Club. Anybody from south of the Mason Dixon Line is a member of THAT club in the summer. Ha hahahahahahaha! I sure do entertain myself well. hee hee

  9. OldBopper says:

Mawnin’ everybody! My phone was on silent, a leftover setting from a meeting yesterday, and I misplaced it. Makes it tough to find. But, I found it, checked and had some voice mails. One was from my tree cutter who said he would be here around nine this morning to get started. Got a feeling when he didn’t hear back from me, he probably went on to another job. I’m in no hurry, but I do want to get rid of eight trees in the front yard.

Hope everybody has a good day.

  10. OldBopper says:

MrsB, glad your eye is better. Don’t know why, but I always figured the equinox fell on the 21st in March, June, September and December. My bad.

MrsH, that’s scary about the beautician. Bet she could find the number that set up the late appointment. Hope they catch the thugs.

  11. msblondie says:

OB for all but Autmun it does. It likes to be a little late. (Ok I saw now Summer and fall due to M’s birthday and my youngest Nephew) I am never sure about spring.. i just let the allergies let me know when it is here.

Still playing catch-up from being out yesterday and I have a done for today. Need to be cloned.

  12. Airwolf says:

Good appointment with Mom. We were out of the office before her appoitment time. Highly unusual.

Stopped at the farm and played with our two cats and our dog we keep up there.

  13. dhcoop says:

A co-worker brought some pasta he did with sausage and cheese for lunch and it was yummy!

Leagle, I’ve no doubt you and BE would love my Mom’s sweet potato pie!

  14. Molly says:

Hello. Dropped my plate at lunch as I was taking it out of the microwave and it landed all over me. Sure am glad I go home for lunch.
Caught up on yesterday’s FFA. I bet that 8 year old at the “beauty shop” had nightmares last night. Her mama, too.
LE, funny you should “sing” the Maley Swim School song. Kiddo was singing it on the way to school this morning. We were talking about a friend of hers naming a puppy Maley and she broke out into song.

  15. OldBopper says:

Tree cutter is here. Felled the first tree right over the street. Six minutes later he has one lane cleared. Good thing there is very little traffic on our dead end street. This guy cut trees for a neighbor and I watched him. He is amazing and really knows what he is doing. Guess he ought to since he’s been at it for 18 years.

  16. cardinallady says:

Afernoon! Flying through. *feeling to see if my tailfeathers are still there* I have been working them off today. I am taking next week off and paying for it in advance. :) Gotta fly!

  17. msblondie says:

All those that travel 55 South they will start working on it tonight. So be warned. This weekend they will be doing a lot of work.

  18. OldBopper says:

Four trees down and four to go. Will finish tomorrow.

  19. cardinallady says:

*tapping my feet* waiting on my sheriff to call me back. We had a fatality in the pre-dawn hours and I just found out about it. Waiting on further details from him. I’m NOT a happy camper to just now be finding out about it though. January can’t come soon enough.

  20. Legal Eagle says:

What’s happening in January, Card? Is that when a new sheriff comes to town?

I had to go out on Lakeland this morning and we stopped back by Chic-Fil-A for lunch and then I went to Brandon to play bridge. BE and I were out fooling around a while ago and happened to be near Baskin Robbins so we stopped for ice cream. I love the hot caramel sundaes and he loves banana splits. The woman asked what kind of ice cream I wanted on my sundae and I usually order vanilla. I stopped and thought about it a minute and asked her what she would recommend. She said praline pecan. OMG! It was out of this world.

My favorite shows are on tonight: Survivor and Criminal Minds, and then I’m going to check out Revenge.

  21. parrotmom says:

    evening

  22. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

I may check out the new X Factor tonight. But I want to see the new Criminal Minds also.

PM, based on your greeting you seem to be still in the dumps. Hope it gets better soon!

  23. parrotmom says:

Just not getting anywhere fast and will not even be near the deadline date which happens to be Friday. I know the end of the month isn’t until the next friday this has been my worst month in a long time and I only took 4 days off and missed 3 hours one other day due to medical test. I just take it too seriously, but I know somethings you just can’t control.

  24. dhcoop says:

A large, yellow bull mastiff is wandering around the yard. Called the neighbor and he said he belongs down the road, but has been wandering around all day. He said he was a nice dog. I made the mistake of petting him. Ever seen the movie “Turner & Hooch”? His basketball-sized head touched my leg, now I’m soaked with doggie slobber.

  25. parrotmom says:

    nite nite everyone!!

  26. Legal Eagle says:

    Night!

  27. parrotmom says:

morning, the last full day of Summer!!! Bye, bye nice knowing you again!!!

  28. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

Dog is still wandering in the yard. If it’s still here this evening, I’m going to have to take some action.

    • cardinallady says:

Coop a spray bottle full of vinegar usually takes care of an unwanted animal. The vinegar doesn’t hurt them, in fact it’s good for them.

Legal, as to your question about January yesterday, YES!!!! My old sheriff that got beat four years ago by this one, will be coming back to haunt me. AMEN!

  29. msblondie says:

morning gang! hope all have a great day!

  30. cardinallady says:

Morning! A lot to do today, but I’m going to take it easy and just enjoy the day as it comes. I’m so excited! I get to spend several days at HOME!!! And I just might spend one night with mom and dad.

  31. Legal Eagle says:

Marshall, where are you this morning? It’s Thursday already.

The community center is closed today because of a conference and we have no place to have our Thursday game, so it will resume next Thursday. In the meantime, I have been invited to play at someone’s house this afternoon and that’s a big yea for me!

  32. parrotmom says:

My car did not crank this morning did not even turn over. So I took PD’s explorer. Home at lunch my car cranks so I will take back to work. I wonder if my key had become wet and that kept it from working. I know there is something with the keys to an Impala that will cause this problem. hopefully I want be stranded at 4:30 this afternoon.

    Happy lunch time to everyone!!!

  33. Mrs. H says:

Leagle, your comment about the icecream reminded me of a trip to B&R when I was expecting our eldest. A boy ordered a root beer float. The lady asked what flavor ice cream and the kid replied, “Bubblegum.” I almost got sick right there in the store!

  34. parrotmom says:

MrsH that sounds awful bubblegum and root beer :(

I decided to leave the car at home. the radio and clock had lost its memory and the last thing I need is to be stranded with no one I could rely on for help.

  35. OldBopper says:

Yippee! All the trees are down, the pulp wood truck is loaded and all that’s left is for the crew to clean up. They do a great job cleaning up. Stump grinder will be here in a couple of days. Actually had one show up to grind my neighbors stumps and asked if he could grind mine. He wanted $300 and I offered him $250. He said he couldn’t do it for that, so I let him pack up and get on his way. Guess he has plenty of money. The guy I have coming quoted me $250.

    • Airwolf says:

Make certain he grinds them down below ground level. A couple of mine were left too high!

      • OldBopper says:

Thanks, plan to do. I sure like the guys who cut the trees. They have hauled off everything, raked the yard, blew all the debris out of the street, and, except for the stumps, you’d never know they were here.

  36. The Real JB says:

Got a lesson in not sharing something going on in our business that you thought was common knowledge…it was not common knowledge.

  37. dhcoop says:

About to brave the world of drivers license renewal!

  38. OldBopper says:

The tree cutters are through and left a clean yard.

  39. Mrs. H says:

I’m home and don’t HAVE to leave my house again until tomorrow night for Em & El’s halftime show. Ahhhhhhh…….

Revivals are wonderful but they wear me out.

  40. Clucky says:

Had a good day at work. Thank the Lord. I got some bad news to lay on Mr Fab when he finally gets home that may make him really have a heart attack.

    Prayers needed. Thanks.

Will be in Jxn next Wednesday to get the results of my tests a couple of weeks ago.
    /nervous

    • cardinallady says:

News that may make him have a heart attack …. is there going to be a little mr. Fab? juuuust kidding. I’d better start praying – Dear Lord, Please let that shoe stop in mid air that Clucky is throwing at me right now –

      okay okay, serious prayer now

Dear God, this morning I read in YOUR word where YOU said ‘Quit worrying and start praying.’ in Phillippians. So I do pray that you will give Clucky the strength and wisdom to break the news of whatever it is to Mr Fab. You just take control and give both of these dear people peace that passes all their understanding. Draw them to YOUR great heart right now and we will be careful to give You the praise and Glory. IN Jesus, name. AMEN!”

Incidentally, I wrote this prayer at 7:12 p.m. Just for the accurate record. Let us know how things turn out dear. ((((((((((love you)))))))))))))

  41. parrotmom says:

prayers Clucky and I hope Mr Fab doesn’t have a heart attack over your info. I wonder how Coop faired on obtaining a license?

I went to the oil change place first to have them test my battery sure enough needed replacing. He quoted a price and told him thanks. Then went to the Auto place that I seem to frequent had them test it and had the same results. I was given $10.00 off my battery and free installation and it set well with my check book :)

MrsH enjoy being home as much as possible.

  42. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

Finally got my license about 4:30. Not too bad of a picture, either!

    Prayin for you Cluckster!

    Eating a corndog. I love corndogs. :)

  43. dhcoop says:

Well, I don’t see the comment I posted from my phone while waiting. I was second in line when I got there. Couldn’t believe it! How lucky! Get called to the counter and, suddenly, computers went down! They said they had gone down that morning and were ONLY off about an hour and a half. Decided since I was there, and I HAD to do this, I’d stay. Took a little over an hour. GAH! But, now its done and I don’t have to worry about it for another 5 years.

  44. parrotmom says:

Yea Coop!! glad you are good for another 5 yrs.

  45. Barb says:

Prayers for Clucky and Mr. Fab.

PM, it is so frustrating when your car lets you down. Mine ran hot this morning!!

  46. dhcoop says:

    Beautiful prayer, Card! As usual!

Working on trying to figure out the “new” facebook. I think it’s a losing battle…

  47. msblondie says:

well had bingo night with my men’s at the VA. It is so sad seeing the numbers dwindle down so over the past years. We all had a good time.

  48. parrotmom says:

    Good night everyone :)
