Tuesday Free-For-All

Good morning!  Wrote a story last night that I really am proud of.  I guess it is because I used to be a janitor, too.

Good to see you smile, Clucky!!

    Good morning, Friends.

  3. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

I’m running a few minutes late, but I’m glad I took the time to read Marshall’s latest. Really wonderful story!

    Gotta run!

  4. parrotmom says:

  5. OldBopper says:

Good morning. Glad to see Clucky doing better. Still praying for Jon and CL. PM, I too hope the plumber is kind to you.

I feel a soapbox rant coming, but will sign off before I commence. Maybe later.

    Sweet daydreams y’all.

  6. Marshall Ramsey says:

Really struggling right now with some life decisions. Think fatigue and the last year’s scrambling are catching up to me.

    • dhcoop says:

Hugs, Marshall!! I’m sure having a cold isn’t helping.

    • cardinallady says:

Dear Lord, only YOU can point us in the right direction when life turns us around like a tornado. Please calm Marshall’s spirit in this storm and may HE have the peace that passes all understanding. Open the windows of heaven on his behalf in this hour, and we will be careful to give you all the praise and thanks for it. In Jesus’ name. AMEN

  7. GrammarGirl says:

Good Morning, Friends! I have been absent but not because I’m mad or disagree with any of you. I’ve just been busy and too wrapped up in my own world. I apologize because although I have met a few of you in person, I know most of what I know about you because of this blog, and I consider you friends whether I’ve ever seen you “face to face.” I need to do a better job of taking time for the really important things in life. So, I hope those struggling will find peace and comfort today, those with physical needs will find strength and healing, those who need direction will find guidance, and those who need a friend will find one here. Love y’all.

    • dhcoop says:

Thank you GG! That is very sweet.

Hey, I’m going to Peanut’s soccer game this evening. As I understand it, there are a whole bunch of soccer fields down past CHS, which is where she will be. Do you have soccer going on there this evening?

      • GrammarGirl says:

Unfortunately, yes. Do NOT like sitting out in the cold, but little bit has a game at 6. If she is playing in the recreational league in Clinton (not part of the school team, right?), she will be playing at Traceway. If you are on Arrow Drive by the high school and keep traveling Arrow Drive east (away from Pinehaven), you will run into the main entrance to the soccer side of Traceway Park. Do you know what field # she is playing on?

    • CornPop says:

I second what you said, GG! I, too, have been wrapped up in my world, but I have been lurking and saying prayers for everyone in need.

I was thrilled to read about IG’s scans showing no more cancer! I wish with all my heart that was the case with Orville, but that doesn’t seem to be in the cards right now. Still having problems that the oncologist AND neurologist are putting their heads together and trying to figure out the best game plan for him.

I do love all of you and honestly hope for the best results in every individual situation.

    • OldBopper says:

      Like, like, like!

    • Legal Eagle says:

I’m one of those who has been fortunate to meet you several times and I hope to see you again soon.

My youngest child (daughter) played soccer for 9 1/2 years. We had a tournament in Clinton one year on Halloween Day and the temperature was about 6 degrees. We saw snow flakes fall during the game and we had to weat about 50 layers just to sit there and watch. It was too cold that year for the kids to go trick or treating.

  8. msblondie says:

morning gang! hope everyone has a great day!

Marshally I understand how you feel. Going through many of the same things right now. I just keep trusting in the Lord and know he will see me through it.

    Hugs to all my friends.

  9. GrammarGirl says:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” –Jeremiah 29:11

  10. cardinallady says:

Mornng! Flitting through. I have some crime news to write and … and … what else? Oh yes! City board news. Yall have fun while I’m gone.

Wait! I’ve got to tell you a funny story, but this is not for the squeemish.

Last night Jon and I went for a walk in the woods. On our way home the dogs started scurrying through the brambles. Jon said they were after a rabbit. In a bit we heard the rabbit squeal. In two minutes the fiest dog came running up with the rabbit. They killed it and brought it to us. I told Jon that was the way to hunt. He didn’t have to shoot it or chase it down. The dogs did all the work. So we will have rabbit dumplings tonight and rabbit stew another night.

  11. OldBopper says:

For better or for worse, I posted on my blog. No offense intended. http://sixplaysperquarter.blogspot.com/2011/10/do-unto-others.html

    • Airwolf says:

      Well said OB.

    • CornPop says:

      Excellent, OB!!

    • Legal Eagle says:

Very well said, OB. Friends agree to disagree and still remain friends. Which reminds me of the old adage that advises never to discuss religion or politics in public. Some people think they are the only enlightened ones and if a shadow of a doubt is cast on their all-knowing opinion, that the one casting it is a bad person and one to be shunned.

    • Ann Onimous says:

Beautifully said! A true friendship can not only withstand opposing points if view, but can thrive because of it.

  12. Airwolf says:

Morning folks. Bear had a soccer game last night at 7. It makes the evenings short. Rambette has been attending a quilting class.

I pray for peace in mind and body for all that are hurting!

  13. Crystalbutterfly says:

    hey all!!!!
just wanted to let everyone know that I love you guys!!
I have been busy at work trying to get things done so I can go on leave again this year for another surgery—man getting old sucks:)
will have total knee replacement surgery November 16th. MML will let everyone know how it goes.
MR hang in there–God is still in control!!
prayers and hugs to all of you!!!!

    • Legal Eagle says:

Getting old is not for the faint of heart. I play cards with folks who have had knee replacements and hip replacements in their 80’s, so it’s probably better to get it over with now. I keep hoping I can stay around long enough so that enough spare parts have been invented to keep me going.

  14. parrotmom says:

OB, I agree with your blog, well put.

GG and CP we miss you when your not here, but we do all get wrapped up in our own stuff. I appreciate the hugs I get here. They may be virtual, but they are better than none at all–believe me on that one.

CLady or is it Granny that is excited over some road kill, glad you are thrilled over your fresh rabbit :) Yumm I am sure!

Coop enjoy this evening at the soccer games and enjoy your family.

CP and others prayers for you and yours.

  15. parrotmom says:

Marshall it is tough to be up all the time especially when so many are enjoying your energy and you just want that moment to hide and scream, but that moment or second never presents itself. May God, family, and friends continue to lift you up and renew your strength as you continue down your path of life.

  16. Legal Eagle says:

One of my classmates is a consultant with Simply Delicious, the company that puts food dishes together that just need the main ingredient to be added by the consumer. We are having a class luncheon today at another classmates’ house and our lunch will be prepared from Simply Delicious mixes.

  17. Mrs. H says:

We passed a horse on our side of the fence while walking this morning. I’m hoping he made it back to his side (I didn’t see him when I drove by a few hours later) That size road kill would ruin someone’s day. Mr. H says, whenever we pass horses on our walk, how grateful he is that horses don’t bark!

  18. parrotmom says:

I don’t know what the plumber fee is yet, but it looks like the city struck again (there fault). At least the back flow flap did it’s job or we would have been pooped on worse than we were.

  19. dhcoop says:

Ok, I’m a little bit freaked out. Just talked to my Baby Girl. She’s on the way to the doctor. Said one of her calves is twice as big as the other, it’s hard and it’s hot. Lord I hope it’s not a blood clot, but what else could it be??

  20. tank says:

For the record, we are replacing four product lines which must be in production at the first of the year. I am drawing like mad…hundreds of prints to do. When I do take a break I check fb since my family is on there and more friends in which to interact, including all of you. (and I can post pictures of me with famous people in the superdome on fb!)

This has been going on well before the controversy I’ve read about came to be. No one questioned my absence before then. Oh, except pm, God bless her. I think everyone on here has my email address. All you had to do was ask rather than assume if you were concerned.

And also for the record, I’m still on cloud nine after meeting Deuce.

Back to work for me now.

  21. parrotmom says:

I mentioned to PD about having the bill turned over to the city. He of course said no. I think we should if they would not had been stopped up then we would not have had a problem.

    Coop prayers for Baby Girl.

Hey Tank. Glad to hear you folks are busy.

    • cardinallady says:

parrotmom, it IS the city’s responsibility. You should give the bill to them and if they say no, take it to the board of aldermen. What is the city’s responsibility, is the city’s responsibility. You are not gouging them or exacting graft. You are in the right. Just like I am each time I ask them to fix my driveway. One day they will fix it right.

    • Barb says:

When my cellucitis(sp) was at its worst, my leg was very swollen, red, and hot to the touch. Almost anything is better than a clot!

  22. GrammarGirl says:

I am like you with FB, Tank, and you are cracking me up about meeting famous people. I’m glad you and Stacey had such great times at the game. Poor Colts, though. I do like Peyton Manning and feel bad for him and his team.

Coop, Field 3 is all the way around that road I spoke of earlier. When you come to the end of Arrow Drive, you will cross Cynthia and enter the main entrance of Traceway (soccer part), appropriately called Soccer Row. Follow that road all the way around. You’ll go through a three-way stop and pass lots of fields, then you’ll come to a big parking lot on the right. The field is down the hill from that parking lot. Field 3 has four subparts, Field 3A, 3B, 3C, and 3D. (We will be on Field 3A, so come say hello!)

  23. Mrs. H says:

About half the time, I realize I’ve been lurking and not actually posting anything all day. Is that a sign of old age or busy-ness? (business just didn’t look right when I typed it)

  24. Molly says:

Hey. I lurk most days (usually don’t have anything of interest to add so I stay quiet) and I did not realize we had a problem brewing. I don’t generally let difference of opinion between friends bother me. Now, if you try to ram your opinion down my throat, we might have a problem.
Unless you are messing with my Kiddo — don’t you DARE tell her she can’t wear pj pants! :) — the chances are VERY slim that I am unhappy with anybody here. I don’t get mad often. When I do … well, you might want to steer clear.

    • Mrs. H says:

I was noticing yesterday that there were quite a few grown (FULLgrown, if you take my meaning) women in WalMart shopping in their pajama pants. It made me think of my grandmothers, who wouldn’t leave their houses if they weren’t ‘dressed-up.’ And Molly, there is a vast difference in your Kiddo on a Spirit Day and these women.

      • Molly says:

It’s a good thing the NWR principal didn’t see them. They would have been put in IWS (In-Walmart Suspension) and then sent home without their groceries! :)

  25. dhcoop says:

Well, the doctor says that it’s highly unlikely it’s a blood clot, but they are going to do a sonogram to be sure. He thinks she has either pulled or torn a tendon. She’s not sure how she would have done that, but he said she could have stepped wrong. They are going to schedule the sonogram and an MRI to check it out.

So, GG, I WILL be seeing you at the soccer field.

Tank, I was tickled that you got to meet the Deuce!

  26. msblondie says:

sometimes i may only check in once or twice during the day.. but I do care about each of you. I like others lurk.. especially if it is busy day or the bossman is on a warpath.

  27. OldBopper says:

Boule has a fresh oil and filter change. Had to loosen the highway bar to get the filter out and in. My collarbone is complaining highly. Think I may have done too much.

Oh well, one of these days I might grow up and realize that my mind is a lot younger than my body.

  28. dhcoop says:

I’m about to go watch my Peanut play some soccer! Planning on saying howdy to GG too!

  29. parrotmom says:

Evening to you all. Coop enjoy and glad the doctor doesn’t think it is a clot.

Hmmm!!! what fun can I have tonight. We watched Psycho 2 last night I guess it will be 3 tonight. WooHoo doesn’t that sound exciting.

  30. Barb says:

So glad it is not a clot, Coop!
OB, responded to your blog at the blog.
CrystalButterfly, LEagle said a mouthfull!! Getting older is definitely not for sissies!
CornPop, you and Orville continue to be in my prayers, as do you all.
Sometimes I just lurk, sometimes I just respond to a post, and sometimes I vent a little! That being said, if I couldn’t come to this blog everyday, I seriously think I might go crazy…okay, crazier!! You guys are lifesavers!!

  31. Clucky says:

Someone is lurking, and sent me a nasty text about stirring things up. I am biting my fingernails to keep from typing what Im thinking. Cant wait to see OB’s take on all this drama. Im reminded of Rodney King; who remembers his famous quote?
CP, you have been on my mind a lot. (((hugs)))
Marshall, you have done well so far, and how you keep up your manic pace blows my mind-and yeah, you are older than me. Good, clean living I reckon. I swear my warranty expired several years ago. 40 is the new 30 my big ole backside!
    Love y’all.
    Mean it.
Those of you in North MS BETTER be watching for the Aurorea Borealis!! It’s on my bucket list!!

  32. Clucky says:

    Very well said, OB.

Thinking myself the black sheep of this family, I waa amazed how easily His word came to me during my very long, heated discussion with “he whom we are talking about but will not say his name.” I guess some things really never leave you, and I am grateful the Lord put them on my heart when He did.
There was a very interesting quote in this weeks church newsletter I would like to share; I hope it doean’t offend anyone.
“The simple truth of Christian faith is this, God made us, God loves us, and God accepts us as we are.  We did not have to earn our creation, and we do not have to earn God’s love.  But God is delighted when we respond to that love.  If we are to bring that love to others then we must know something of what it means to be vulnerable with one another and vulnerable with God.”
    Rev. Dr. Jane Shaw
    I love it.

  33. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

Just got in and am catching up. We haven’t had this many posts in a long time!

SO happy to see GrammarGirl at the soccer field tonight. Turns out, our little ones were playing each other! Her youngest is one year younger than Peanut. GG got to meet Baby Girl and Peanut, and she had wonderful things to say about Peanut’s teacher! Apparently, one of the best her eldest ever had.

I was telling Baby Girl that I’ve known GG for several years now, even though I’ve only actually met her in person a few times. It was just so cool to think that, if it weren’t for our “family” here, I wouldn’t have had any idea who that woman was sitting at the soccer field. As it is, I consider her one of my dear friends. In fact, her directions got me there, since Baby Girl is not that great at giving directions! We are all a very special family and I want to keep it that way. And I thank God for Marshall every day for bringing us all together.

    YAY MRBA!

  34. dhcoop says:

Oh, and I got a look and feel of Baby Girl’s leg tonight and I definitely think it’s muscle related. It was hard as a rock, but she said it wasn’t as swollen as it had been. I told her to go home and put some ice on it.

  35. parrotmom says:

Coop so glad you and GG had a good time at the soccer game. Also, glad that Baby Girl is ok. There is a lot to say for this place of friends. Thanks Marshall :)

  36. Clucky says:

Gnite. Got a long day on the road tomorrow that is going to wear me out :( it’s gee whiz time, and I’m racing the clock!

  37. Barb says:

Just peeked in to say goodnight and God bless.

  38. parrotmom says:

Nite, nite everyone :) Sweet Dreams!

  39. Ann Onimous says:

    Good night, John Boy! :)

  40. msblondie says:

hoping in to say nite nite to my friends here… after making 52 suckers, spiders, and skulls all out of chocolate. the living room is almost cleaned… got a new steamer was hoping to get tested out tonight.. that will have to wait till tomorrow now.

    off to find my pillow.

  41. dhcoop says:

Good night, my friends and much loved ones! We’ll see each other tomorrow. That is one of our blessings. Much love to all and to all a good night.

Thanks again, Marshall. We all love and appreciate you. We might not say it often enough, but it’s there. It’s obvious. But I’m telling you something you already know…

  42. dhcoop says:

Oh, and Blondie, we want to see pics!! I want to see suckers, spiders and skulls out of chocolate!

    okay, really, good night!
