Good morning! Boss, did you think you would be doing what you are doing now when you were laid off a year ago? In looking back over the past year, there is a lot of information to be harvested to plant seeds for the next year(s). You know…what thing are you doing now that you enjoy the most, what are you doing that has the best chance for expansion, which hurdles did you cross that will attribute to your success in the future. Look at how your family has changed/adapted/adjusted. What did you do that you won’t do again? Harvest the information, sow the seeds and reap much success in the future. Folks have a lot of confidence in you.
Mawnin’ y’all. Crisp outside this morning. Looks like a nice weekend though.
Here’s a link to an interesting article I read this morning from the BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-15574646
Good morning! It is finally Friday…I just know it will be a blessed day! I totally get the whole life change in a year thing. Marshall. My life has taken me down a new road this last year as well. But, as scary as the uncertainty has been, I continue to be amazed at how I have been loved, cared for and have gained a ton of strength and faith through it all! Only in hindsight can we see the picture from this new place in our lives but isn’t the view beautiful now! :)
Mornin!
Yep, gotta love those sporks in the road!
PM, my appt is Thursday :P Maybe I won’t get shuffled!! So very, very glad it is FRIDAY. I’ll probably be on the road a bit today; if not, then the first of next week.
Molly, if your daughter has hand-me-downs, let me know. Same for you, MsBlondie! Not too proud over here!! The girl child wants UGGS for her bday, so everyone is giving her $$$ so she can go buy them herself and get that sinking feeling of laying out that much $$$ for ONE item. Christmas is already planned-MissMe jeans and a Kindle or Nook. If any of you have one, I’m open for suggestions. MsBlondie, Chicklette and I are both getting the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH on our laptops. I could cry; they were preloaded w/Win7-no disk to start over. I don’t know what to do, especially since we both have iPhones. When it rains, it pours!!
Nice and chilly here today. We have our first District playoff game tonight against Enterprise. Their band and director were especially nasty to us last weekend at Hinds; they even had shirts that said BEAT UNION. A friend and I talked about making shirts that said UNION BEAT YOU AGAIN! and sitting by their band. LOL The Meridian TV station, WTOK-11, will be at the UHS pep rally for the band medal ceremony-they didn’t get them at contest because they didn’t have enough! The TV station will also be staying for the game. So glad we have a DVR!
I’ve been feeling pretty good this week; waking up before the alarm (GASP!) and
getting to work early. I did go to PT yesterday, and I am glad because I angered my
neck somehow. Amazing how good a hot, moist towel feels.
Y’all have a good Friday! Wearing my HALF TIME IS GAME TIME t-shirt :) Catch you on the flip side!!
PS re: yesterday’s conversation about falling; I’m so used to it now
It’s just another step. I just keep going, then later find the bruises!
Love y’all, Mean it!!
Good morning.
Frost on the pumkin here in The Big Thicket.
I will be finished here by mid-afternoon. There’s a good chance of moving this operation just a couple of miles and doing this all over again. It’s short work, but I’ll take it, gladly. If that happens, I’ll be off until tuesday or so next week. Don’t know if I’ll travel the 475 miles home or not.
Y’all have a safe day.
morning gang!
Clucky: What sizes in clothes for Chicklette? I see what my niece has as well as M. When is the blue screen appearing on the laptop? Depending when it is happening there is ways to fix it.
Warning to all there is a couple of very very nasty viruses reappearing posing has virus scanners/security scanners. Make sure your anti virus programs are upto date. If you don’t have one.. here are a couple of free ones that work very well:
avg.com (get the free one) and avast.com (get the free one).
Everyone have a great Friday! I need find some BC got a pounding head this morning.. then off to a meeting.
Good morning, everyone!
Tomorrow is Orville’s and my second first wedding anniversary (what should have been our 33rd anniversary is now our 27th after getting remarried last year). We decided to get away for the weekend, so getting off work early & hitting the road. We have hotel reservations right on the water at Orange Beach, AL – room with private balcony on beach. Going to take a much-needed break from the ‘real world’ for a couple of days, walk on the beach, eat good food and relax! We sure are looking foward to it!
Love, hugs and prayers to all!
Awesome!
Have a good time CP.. Sounds like fun. and Happy Anniversary
Thank you, we will! :~D
Happy Anniversary, Corn Pop and Orville! Go run your toes through the sand and relax a while.
Woooohoooo! Go for it!! Been wishing to hear the sound of waves breaking on shore. Can I be jealous?
Sure, OB, you can be as jealous as you want while Orville and I are kicking at the sand and waves this weekend…LOL!
Be careful and don’t get any sand in your popcorn there, CornPop. And Happy Anniversary.
I sometimes amaze myself. That is all.
Like!
Morning, headed out for a haircut! I hope your day is great.
Good morning. I have been up since 7:00 enjoying some quiet time. but was short liven. PD’s reaction to anesthesia is very different than most. Me would prefer to come home take my meds and go to sleep. He is wired for sound. I finally begged him to lets go to bed at midnight that I could not take anymore.
It is chilly here. I have both heaters going in the house and just put socks on with my sandals—that does not make me OLD!! LOL!!
AW, I’m going to look for a haircut this morning, too.
And to look for a red leather chair for my living room! I’ve been looking off and on all summer. Since the eldest decided to paint rather than purchase (which would have required a bit of financial assistance) a car, I think the chair is back in my future. :)
We play Ocean Springs tonight. I have a feeling that GCHS will take a pounding for 4 quarters and halftime. But our band has fun no matter what, so I’m happy for my girls. (Em has a boyfriend who plays snare, so she is more than willing to play bass drum in the stands!)
Chicklette is a 7 or 6.5 shoes; size zero short..LOL and xs in tops & dresses.
The computer will start to come on, then gives a blue screen w/tiny writing w/an error # then shuts off before I can read it. It starts up again, over and over-even in safe mode, I cannot get any further. Sigh.
I will get the girls to look through and see what they might still have that wasn’t sent out after the torandos and flooding earlier this year. My girls haven’t been xs in a while they were blessed.
If the blue screen is happening at startup not good sign.. but not the end either just takes a bit more creativity to fix.
Clucky, I’m afraid Kiddo is way past those sizes! In fact, I don’t think she ever wore them. She wears a small in most things, medium in others. She’s in a size 9 shoe and has been since about 7th grade. Wish I could help.
CornPop, I hope you and Orville have a great weekend!! Ya’ll deserve it!
Thanks so much, Barb!
Happy 2nd repeat anniversary CornPop and Orville :)
LOL – appreciate that, PM!
Have a great time!
Our little dog is still yelping from time-to-time and bunching the muscles around her neck up. She will be okay for a while and then move and yelp. I hope the steroids and muscle relaxers fix what’s wrong because the sound of her yelping tears my heart strings.
I’m going over at 1:00 to continue coaching and playing bridge with some new players. They are making a lot of progress and one of them is going to play with us next Thursday for the first time.
Congratulations to Orville and Corn Pop! Smiles and hugs to you both!!
PQ and I had lunch at Newk’s. Salad and lobster and crab bisque. T’was good.
Ok, all you old timers, I have a question. Baby Girl just called me. She and her dad hit the Good Will/Salvation Army stores today looking for stuff Peanut could wear at a Renaissance Fair. BG loves vintage coats. She found a faux fur that was labeled “Frances Pepper”. Wasn’t that a ladies department store in downtown Jackson back in the day?
I remember a store by that name years back.
Afternoon, I just down off the roof. The valleys were full of oak leaves. No sun today, breezy and cool.
I went up to the farm this morning and checked on our pets and refilled their food and water. Then over the hill and spent a couple of hours with Mom and Dad.
We are getting off at 3 on Fridays now! YAY! I’ll check in later.
TTFN!
I’ve been shopping by myself all day! Got a haircut, smelly bath soap, tights (and other stuff in that general department) and a long-sleeved T-shirt to make a long sleeved version of this:

This is the first chance I’ve had today to check in.
Has it already been a year, CornPop? I remember the day well; just was thinking it was December.
CP, it might be a tad cool for toes in the sand. I hope y’all have a fireplace instead!
Got a yellow cake in the oven. Chocolate frosting ready when it’s time.
Want!
El has decided to wear her dad’s OS band letterman jacket (1975) in the stands tonight! (It no longer fits him)
Coop, Frances Pepper was a very nice ladies dress shop on Lakeland Drive, not far from where Lakeland Drive begins at Old Canton Road. It was on the same side of the street that Aladdin’s is now on and a little further down. Congressman Sonny Montgomery’s mother worked there for years. They never did have a downtown location.
I had a good time with my bridge trainees this afternoon, but I didn’t see many face cards in any of my hands at all.
yumm, Cake :)
Hey! Congrats to CP and Orville: I hope you both have the time of your lives this weekend!
Finally feeling almost human after being sick the last two days. Hopefully will be good tomorrow night: we’re set up to volunteer at the Light the Night Walk for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. It should be fun.
AnnO I’m glad you are feeling some better. I hope you are 100% for the walk tomorrow night.
Thanks, Leagle!
I’m watching the last few minutes of Marshall’s show online. I’ve been listening on the radio.
His musical guest today was INCREDIBLE! Would love to go to
119 tonight and hear him perform.
Alas, playoffs start tonight-against our archrivals that showed their rear-ends at band championships. They even had T-shirts made that said “Beat Union.” Another band mom and I discussed donating the letters to change them to
Beat BY Union AGAIN. Heh.
Just saw my girl on the local news-they did a piece on them winning for the 3rd yr in a row. I saw the TV truck w/satellite at the field when I dropped Chicklette off at the band hall. We are even having a tailgate party! Now to find my long johns and go holla!
Enjoy, CP & Orville :) Sending u our popcorn ration before it gets stale. :(
So sorry for everything you and Mr. Fab are having to endure lately, Clucky!
I will accept your popcorn ration and use it happily! With and without added sand (LOL@Blues)!
We have such a beautiful suite overlooking the beach and the Gulf! Can’t wait for the sun to come up so we can really see the view. :)
Have fun, Clucky! Stay warm!
Good luck to Union HS.
Y’all, if you do not read EVERY one of Marshall’s posts EVERY day, then you are missing out. He has become SUCH a great writer in the past few years. I’ve watched him develop. And I am one proud Momma! Cause, not that I’ve had anything to do with it, but I’ve been with him through all this crap, and I know what he’s been through. I am incredibly proud of Marshall and all that he’s gone through and put up with our crap in the meantime. Y’all need to be thankfull for at least that. He hasn’t given up on us. There’s something to be said for that… Seriously
AMEN!
Amen!
I agree coop.
Amen Coop.
We won 35-6. BOOYAH!
i slept hard for two hours, but just woke up. Grrr.
I see where Andy Rooney died at age 92. He just “retired” about a month ago.
I call that working up to time to go. Andy Rooney was something else,
Good morning at 7:27 am this chilly Saturday morning. My poor kittie girls did not like my company the last couple of days. Last night Itty Bitty would come in and eat a few bites and head back out the door. I can’t close the door or she feels trapped. Tinker Bell was happy with staying at the food bowl and did venture around some, but enjoyed the in and out at the door. They are both at the door this morning so I am hoping for a little more relaxation from them. Keeping fingers crossed.
So far so good. I even managed to shut the door and she has not given me that cat holler yet. TinkerBell is worried just playing with her toys. Itty Bitty playing for maybe 3o seconds and quits, she is back to watching the water run in the sink. she loves that. Now I expect her on the keyboard at any givn morning. Yep her she is.
A lot to say about ferral cats. THey love us and feel safe with us, but they don’t like strangers although I have heard that some cats just don’t take to strangers around invading there territory. You would thought that my 30 something stepson was a 3 to 5 yr old. If I told him don’t go here that is exactly where he would go. No wonder Itty is traumatized. Titty Bitty said good morning during that last walk through. LOL!!!
Mornin!
LOL@Titty Bitty! Put your glasses on, PM!! LOL!
