Hello World!!!! I hope you all have a good day, it is Friday Eve.

I think Penn State should have left him alone.

  2. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

I slept like a log last night. I needed that.

I think the Trustees of Penn State did the right thing by firing him. What he did (or actually DIDN’T do) was inexcusable. As far as the rioting, it’s just crazy. That’s not helping anything.

  3. blues4you says:

    Good morning.

I am a huge college football fan. I don’t have the words to describe how I feel about what has happened at Penn State. To cover up something that heidious…..I just can’t grasp it.

  4. OldBopper says:

G’morning. The thing that impresses me about the Penn State action is they reached out to the top and fired their president. That’s what I call effective action that sends a strong message to anyone in a lower position.

As far as JoPa is concerned, I’ve felt he was more of a mascot than a coach for the last few years. He was a great coach though.

Still absorbing this election. Wow what a change! When I was in the Legislature, I was one of FOUR Republicans in the House. Although I’m not sure that either of the parties is acceptable to me these days, I still am in awe of the change.

    Prayers for PD and PM.

  5. Airwolf says:

    Morning friends!

Penn State took immediate corrective action even tho it’s more symbolic at this point. I’m appalled at the actions of the students.

    Prayers for PD!

  6. Marshall Ramsey says:

Joe Pa looked out for a friend and the institution and not a child. I hope he enjoys retirement.

  7. msblondie says:

morning gang! I think what Penn State did was the right thing.

    everyone have a great day.

reminder that the banks and post office is closed tomorrow for Veteran’s Day.

  8. Mrs. H says:

Mr. H needed to use my car today. I was originally going to catch a ride with the eldest. I could have caught a ride with either licensed offspring. However, after listening to the eldest yell at Em for borrowing several outfits of clothes and not even being able to locate them in an unwashed state, I really didn’t want to ride with either of them. Add to that the fact that Em has a project due tomorrow for Spanish class that required pictures of all her family members (which she wanted to be wearing maroon!!) and she’s known about this being due for 2 weeks. This morning, while she’s getting ready, she wants me to go to FB and get family pics and put them on her flash drive (FB is blocked at school). Mr. H was ready to go, I’d had no breakfast, NO COFFEE, no make up……

The eldest sent me a text wondering where I was because Em&El didn’t tell her I left with their dad while she was in the shower.

I’m here. Mark made coffee and had peppermint mocha creamer to go in it :)

  9. GrammarGirl says:

Bless you, Mrs. H. I have those days a lot and they are not ever pleasant. Hope the coffee and creamer help. I’m off for my second cup right now.

    Mornin’, everyone!

  10. Barb says:

    Good morning!!
    Prayers for PM & PD.

  11. cardinallady says:

Morning. Morning? Yep, I guess it is here. My election day seems to be catching up with me today. Man! I feel like somebody beat me with a stick.

  12. Airwolf says:

On this day in 1967 The Moody Blues released “Nights in White Satin”.

Coop that’s your brain itch for today!

  13. dhcoop says:

    Thanks so much AW!

  14. parrotmom says:

Thanks again for the well wishes. He is still the same, although the Doc did say as long as he stayed in bed and didn’t move he did not have to wear the Aspen brace. Physical and Occupational came in after he had morphine and muscle relaxer and said they were getting him up. They did, but only to the side of the bed this time will be back this afternoon for some more time. I ran home rather late to take care of the Parrot and the kittie girls. Soon to head back with a stop to Walmart for my favs of Dt. Dr. Pepper–16 oz bottles to take to the room. $1.60 from the cafeteria only when it is open is high.

Blues I meant to say how good to hear you are working in MS. I hope it carries you for awhile.
Oh, and I met Bella Sera yesterday. We had a wonderful few minutes together.

    See you all later.

  15. parrotmom says:

Bought a bigger back of peanut M&M’s while at wally world. Nothing better goes with a Dt. Dr. Pepper.

  16. Clucky says:

PM, I’m at the clinic next to the hospital. :)

Good day to be here..sciatica is fired up! Good news? If the doc is as good as he is good-looking, I should be feeling better very soon. :D

  17. parrotmom says:

I am not respondible someone come take the M&M’s away before all is gone!!!

  18. parrotmom says:

Evening everyone!!! I am about fit to be tied. Should I be upset with my brother? He has 2 days off every week and today is his 2nd I know he has to do other things during this time, but I feel like he should have taken an hour out to come to the hospital. I guess the things and the times I have gone out of my way since June I should just mark up to that I am a more giving/caring person? Phone calls are good but when you live that close you can put forth an effort. Now I know how our Father felt.

  19. Legal Eagle says:

Easing the door open and slipping quietly in for a change. I’m red faced over how I get suckered into the drama on Facebook and actually let it get it me. I think I had the right idea when I rarely ever went there. If I could read and stay quiet, it would be one thing but, as Ron White says, “I had the right to remain silent, but I wasn’t capable.” I’ve probably been defriended by at least one person, but I haven’t even looked yet.

PM, you and PD continue to be in my prayers and so do you, Clucky.

BE went to a veterans ceremony today while I was playing bridge and got his Honored Veteran pin and won a bingo prize.

    • parrotmom says:

LegalE I had not heard that Ron White comment. Gee it applies to me sometimes. Give BigE a hearty thank you from me.

      • Legal Eagle says:

Thank you, PM. I told him and he said, “You’re welcome.”

I’m going to look on youtube and see if I can find Ron saying that. He was on the comedy channel the other night and it was in the routine that he did that night and we had heard that show before.

  20. parrotmom says:

Thanks to all our Veterans here. Thanks for your service.

  21. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

Leagle, don’t feel bad. FB does tend to bring out drama.

It’s going to get COLD tonight! I’m just not ready! I want it to stay fall a while.

  22. dhcoop says:

I think everyone should thank all of the Veterans every day. I have know many, including many here on the blog, but my special one is Cub, pncpnthr’s babe and my nephew. I remember when he got home from “over there” and called me from the airport. I remember thinking that I didn’t feel like I had taken a real breath the whole time he’d been gone. I remember sobbing with relief that he was home safe.

THANK YOU to ALL of those who have fought, cared for, and died for those people who made this nation possible. Made this LIFE possible. We take it for granted every day. We should be grateful and thank them for their service EVERY day.

  23. Barb says:

AW, just read your Moody Blues comment. I’ll probably have that brain itch when I am trying to go to sleep later!! But, they are either my favorite band or my second fave depending on my mood…Eagles being the other!!

  24. parrotmom says:

I hate that my kittie girls had to stay outside tonight. I did put the pet bed in a protective place. Hopefully one if not both will use it.

  25. msblondie says:

    evening gang!

I fixed chili tonight.. none left.
Not ready for the cold either.
PM thinking of you and PD.. and Clucky.

    sweet dreams to all

  26. parrotmom says:

What a good night for chilli or homemade soup with hot buttered cornbread ;)

  27. parrotmom says:

I wonder how Clicky ‘s appointment went today?

  28. dhcoop says:

My intentions were to spend the evening working on funny captions on Big Sis’ camel pictures she posted yesterday on fb. As it was, I ended up spending the evening sending links to support a petition.

I have, thus far, avoided political discussion on this blog.

    I plan to continue that.

HOWEVER, I was called names today I will never forget (can’t say forgive, because I do forgive, but rarely forget) and have been offended BEYOND words, by our very own future Governor. Let’s just say, for example, you were called a Satan worshiper. How do you feel?? Oh, and that you love Hitler? How does that make you feel?? Just curious… Personally, I find it highly offensive and cannot BELIEVE our future Governor said such things, but, hey, that’s just me. My feelings and vote apparently do not matter…

So…the funny captions on my sisters pictures will have to wait, because I’m too pissed off to think about being funny.

Anyhoo… it’s just another chilly evening in podunk… Y’all take care now, you hear?

  29. Clucky says:

The neurosurgeon was a Quack. I was incredibly ANGRY when I left his office. That’s why I didn’t come visit you, PM. Will chat later.
