Trying to get moving. Not really awake yet.

Getting ready to go to the hospital and will check on David and leave “G”. She chose not to take herself. I plan to try and work. I may even be there for our Thanksgiving luncheon. I have really enjoyed my evenings with her and our hen chats. I just wished things could have been better between the son, but we do have a firm understanding and he knows I deeply love him. Gee, looking at radar is not the best in the world. People have made comments on a daily basis and several things I am Thankful for is knowing all of you, PD’s slight improvements everyday, and a company that is so very family oriented and feels like a family. I thought last year was the worst Thanksgiving ever. This year I should have the best with so much to be thankful for and no it want be the big family get together with plenty of my own homemade dressing, but I still have the Love of my life in no matter what shape he is in.

  4. parrotmom says:

Oh, by the way happy Hump day to you all :)

  5. Airwolf says:

    Morning all!

Rain finally moved in. Rambette, Baby Darling and I are joining Bear at school for his Thanksgiving meal.

PM, I’m glad PD is showing some signs of improvement.

  6. blues4you says:

Morning! Isn’t the rain lovely? It woke me up at 1:30 with its swirling arrival. We desperately needed a day like this to saturate the ground with water before the truly cold weather sets in. It will make the ground more fallow.

CardinalSon and I enjoyed a treat out this morning. We ate breakfast at our favorite local diner before he went off to help Habitat.

We are off to eat our thanksgiving lunch in a bit too. I’ve got to get the recipe typed up of the stuff that I’m carrying. I’ll post it on here in a bit. It is a light veggie salad with lemon juice.

  10. Legal Eagle says:

Don’t forget to share it with us, CL. I’m still keeping a recipe document. And speaking of that, with the holidays upon us, please share your holiday recipes with us so I can add them to our MRBA collection. Someone made some of the best pumpkin cupcakes last week for our Thursday bridge group and I’ve got to get that recipe. This woman is such a good cook that every time she brings something, I’m after her to give me the recipe.

We have a lovely photographer at our church who helps our youth with a fund-raiser every year. She sets up shop in a room with her camera, lights, backdrops, etc. and takes as many pictures of your family as you can fit in half an hour. She then loads every shot on a CD and you get it for $20. ALL the $$ goes into a fund for youth mission trips. You can then print, post, whatever, as many photos from that CD as you wish.

We came last night (including FSIL), all wearing Maroon and carrying our cowbells. 260 pics wouldn’t fit on 1 disk, so we have 2!! I didn’t have a chance to look through them last night, so that’s my afternoon enjoyment when I get home today!!

  12. Airwolf says:

AC was running. early this morning! The heat just kicked on!

  13. dhcoop says:

    Basils for lunch! YUM!

  14. Clucky says:

Meatloaf, garlic mashed potatoes, and corn for lunch courtesy of Marie Callender since PQ is in McComb. But it was only 380 calories. Not bad for $2.50.

Mrs.H, love the picture idea! Wish we lived closer.

  16. OldBopper says:

YAAAAWN, it’s nap time. Later folks.

  17. dhcoop says:

    MrsH, that sounds awesome!

    Temp is dropping!

  18. msblondie says:

everyone have a good evening about time to get out of here.

  19. Legal Eagle says:

BE went to Brandon while I was playing today and when he came by to pick me up he had two complimentary plates for us, thanks to our friend who is in the restaurant business in Brandon, complete with a huge bag of chips and a large salsa, the best in town. Thank you, thank you, thank you, mi amigo!

  20. cardinallady says:

Oh Yeah. I’ve been working on Christmas pages all afternoon and almost forgot to post my recipe. I get to see our guv’rnor tomorrow at the official roll off Toyota car. Actually, I get to interview him with all the other press monkeys. It’s gonna be fun. I haven’t the foggiest what I want to ask. I’m guessing God will enlighten me when the time comes. He is good about that.

    Corn and tomato salad

    1 stalk celery
2 or 3 firm tomatoes (the kind that are just barely red)
    1 can corn
    1 medium red onion
1 or 2 bell peppers (according to your taste) To make it look more Christmassy you can use red and green bell pepper
    1 cup lemon juice
1 teaspoon each of these dried seasonings, Italian, basil, parsley, oregano, Mrs. Dash® original
    1/2 teaspoon Old Bay

Wash the celery and only cut off the root part and trim 1/4 inch off the other end to make it look fresh. Put the whole stalk on the cutting board and thin slice. Don’t take the leaves off, cut those too. It gives the salad a different texture. Dice the tomatoes and thin dice the onoin and bell peppers. Open and drain corn. Mix all the vegetables together. Put lemon juice and seasonings together in a 2 cup measuring cup and stir briskly or put into a jar and shake up. Pour over veggies and toss well. Put in fridge over night.

Evening everyone. PD had a good day small improvements. He responded to his children which made them feel good, but he was worn out this evening. That’s ok they will soon be gone and it will just be the nurses, doctors, and me until the weeksnd probably.

  22. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

I haven’t caught up yet, but must post that I just got off the phone with my sista from anotha mother (SFAM) that now lives in Canada. She was one of Big Sis’s BFFs in the UAE a few years ago, and for the past two years she has come to Mississippi to spend time with us. She is British and my southern ears have a hard time understanding her sometime, but she now has her flight booked! I’m excited that she’s coming again this year!! I’ll just call her “L”.

  23. pncpnthr says:

I’m glad to hear that “L” finally booked her flight.

I got some good news today. I’ve been troubled for some time at the thought of never seeing or having any form of relationship with the children of a cousin that is no longer with us. Their mother accepted my friend request on fb today and I’m thrilled! I’m sure the children don’t remember me, maybe the oldest does, but at least there’s a bit of hope that I will, at the very least, get updates now & then.

  24. msblondie says:

evening.. been rather quiet.. Thinking of you PM and PD.

Got some news today… a cousin of mine left for the war at 5am this morning. He was shipped off about a month earlier than we were expecting. It is really hard on him as he has a 1 year old son he has left behind. If you could remember him in prayers also.

  25. Legal Eagle says:

Will do, msblondie. It’s hard enough any time, but right before Thanksgiving and Christmas is especially tough.

It’s my favorite night of TV: Survivor, Criminal Minds and Revenge.

  26. Mrs. H says:

Posted some of the family pics on FB.

Praying for you PM and Clucky.
