Morning. It’s early for me! Rambettes military ID card is going to expire this month. We’re off to Columbus AFB to get it renewed. Then back to Tupelo to get her DL renewed. We’ll do a little Christmas shopping too!

    Have a great day

  2. OldBopper says:

Mawnin’ y’all. Had difficulty sleeping last night so I stayed in bed a little later than usual. Brrr! Prayers for all who need them. I lazily lumped the whole group into a single prayer this morning without naming names.

  3. parrotmom says:

Good morning BRRRRR!! it’s cold outside.

PD had a high fever of 103.5 about 6 to 7 last night between steroids, tylenol, motrin, and a cooling blanket it finally broke before 2 am. Needless to say it felt like the North pole in his room at 6 this morning. The thermostat was set below 60. I asked PD if he was cold because he was shivering to beat 90. He moved his lips and said wasn’t too bad. If it is staph or what the meds just have it covered for now. I came home to take care of the pets and put some make up on so I wouldn’t scare anyone, but I don’t think it helped much. Heading back to the hospital soon. I have a lot more I could say but will be nice.

  4. parrotmom says:

AW you and Rambette have fun and stay warm :) Everyone else have a wonderful Tuesday!!!

    OB, we know God knows!!!

  5. blues4you says:

    Good morning.

    Praying for y’all,PM……and clucky, too.

Cold and wet here in The Big Thicket. My main computer is down. All data is being recorded by hand, old school style. I still remember all the calculations. It’s going to be a fun day.(sarcasm button off)

  6. Molly says:

Mornin! My Kiddo is 16 years old. Since we’re all playing hookie, she slept in. A couple of friends stopped by a little after 7:00 and dragged her out of bed to sing Happy Birthday to her and give her flowers and gifts. Not a bad way to be woken up.

PM, hope PD feels better soon and can kick this infection.

Blues, sorry the computer broke. At least you remember how to do it old school. The generation coming up can’t add 2 and 2 without electronic assistance!

  7. parrotmom says:

Happy Birthday kiddo!!! What some awesome friends she has. You gals have fun today.

Blues, sorry about the computer problem, glad you have it under control.

  8. Mrs. H says:

Ooo, PM. When I read your comment, I realized that I had brought my make-up bag to apply here (since I had to ride early with the girls) and had forgotten about it. I am now fixed up. I told Mrs. Mac that she should have mentioned my lack of make-up. I know the guys would never do it, but we girls have to watch out for each other.

  9. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

I was at home last night and didn’t have service so I couldn’t check in. I’ll have to go back and catch up later when I have some time.

PM, I sure hope PD does better today. Anyone heard from Clucky?

    Happy Birthday Kiddo!

  10. Legal Eagle says:

Happy Birthday, Kiddo! I remember when you were a little girl and now you’re almost grown! Have a great birthday!

The tickets for our monthly luncheon will be available at 8:30, so I’m headed that way in a few minutes. Since the City of Pearl pays for our luncheons, the tickets go fast. Then I have to be way out Lakeland at 10:00 and then deep in the heart of Crossgates at 1:00, so I will be AFK nearly all day. Y’all play nice and have a great lunch.

  11. cardinallady says:

Morning! Flying through. River of words to write. See yall on the other side. :)

  12. bella says:

Good morning to all. Prayers for all and PM and PD. PM let me know if you need anything, I am back in the office and just call . Sending you lots of love and hugs.

  13. Mrs. H says:

Discovered yesterday that our drier doesn’t heat any more. It ran all night the other night, but I didn’t pay much attention: clothes belonging to one of the girls. Yesterday, I did my clothes and after an hour and a half, the first load was still tumbling. I went to check and they were still damp and cold. I let them tumble until bed time and hung the next load on hangers to dry in the laundry room. *sigh*

  14. msblondie says:

morning gang! prayers pm and pd.

happy birthday to Kiddo! hope she has a great birthday.

    everyone have a good day!

  15. dhcoop says:

Have y’all seen Marshall’s toon today?? What a great tribute to Mississippi teams!

  16. parrotmom says:

I have been talking with Clucky since I’m special :)

MrsH I have done that with my mascara only to frighten myself in the bathroom mirror . With my light lashes I look as if I have been crying which today between that and lack of sleep my eyes are feeling very swollen.

Hi Bella good for now. Pulling out my blankie soon to drift off.

  17. Legal Eagle says:

We swung by City Limits on our way back to the house and I had the best hamburger steak I’ve had in ages, with a salad from the salad bar, crinkle cut fries and grilled Texas toast. BE had the biggest grilled pork chop I’ve ever seen, turnip greens, baby lima beans, corn bread and cake. They had chicken tetrazinni on the buffet too and I had to walk away, hard as it was, to order my long anticipated hamburger steak. It was worth waiting for.

I have to leave for Crossgates at 12:30, so I’m going AFK again.

    • bella says:

Hi Eagle, where is City Limits ? I work close to Crossgates Hospital and it sounds like a good place to eat.

      • Legal Eagle says:

It’s on Highway 80 in Pearl almost to Pearson Road. There was an old Chinese restaurant there called MinNan or something. It’s just east of where Blues County Cafe has been for years, until they went out of business recently, and just east of where Pearson Road comes into Highway 80. Their phone number is 601-420-2233 and if you want to, you can call in your order and go by and pick it up or eat inside.

  18. OldBopper says:

Corn chowder and a ham sandwich for lunch. Bought some more “forever” stamps since they are going up in January.

Quite a line today at the Post Office. People mailing packages. That’s going to be a problem for some areas when the local offices close. I still think they ought to deliver the mail on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

    • Ann Onimous says:

I still have a book and a half from when I bought them two years ago. My grandmother always kept a book of stamps in her wallet: for some reason, I do as well. We pay all our bills either online, over the phone or in person, and the half book of stamps I’m missing were ones I gave to people at work who needed one. I haven’t used a single one out of the book!

  19. bella says:

I have a question. I read in the C-L, starting this week people will no longer be able to use factitious names, does that include this blog. It’s fine with me because I am friends with most of our blog family. Just wondering.

    • dhcoop says:

CL going to a facebook interface only, bella. They are going to require that if you post a comment, you do it through fb, which will probably keep some of the nasties from posting comments on the CL and the CL blogs within the site. And they do have some nasties.

This blog belongs to Marshall so he controls how it functions.

  20. msblondie says:

Had to make sure today was Tuesday.. it has felt like Monday all day .. but I have been being a firefighter since about lunchtime. Have all but one problem solved and not much i can do about it.. just in hold till i hear back.

  21. parrotmom says:

Crap it is cold and nasty out. PD has been doing better today. They are having to give him blood and still have him on steroids and 2 antibiotics. I did catch a nap earlier in this chair. I know my kittie girls will be happy to sleep inside tonight.

  22. Molly says:

Greetings. Back home from shopping. There’s a store in Turtle Creek Mall in Hattiesburg that Kiddo loves and it’s the only one in the state, so we headed south. When she ran out of spending money, we headed back home. Some friends are taking her out to eat in a bit. I think she’s had a good day.

  23. Airwolf says:

I agree PM it is cold. We didn’t go to CAFB after all. Her ID doesn’t expire until next year. Got her DL renewed for 8 years and spent the rest of the day shopping! Now I’m worn out.

Prayers for PD. Anyone heard from the Cluckster?

  24. Legal Eagle says:

My friend Patty just sent me her carrot cake recipe that I’ve been bugging her for. BE’s favorite cake is carrot cake and I usually don’t like it that much, but this one was good.

    Carrot Cake

1-3/4 Cup Sugar 4 Eggs (Unbeaten)
1 Tsp. Salt 3 Cups Grated Carrots
ΒΌ Cup Crisco Oil 2 Tsp. Soda
2 Tsp. Cinnamon 2 Cups Plain Flour
    2 Tsp. Baking Powder

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream sugar and oil, add eggs and sift flour, salt, cinnamon and add soda. Add to sugar and oil and fold in carrots. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. I put cake batter into three (3) cake pans. Grease with crisco & flour cake pans.

I e-mailed her back and thanked her and asked for the frosting recipe.

  25. parrotmom says:

Evening everyone, nasty roads this evening driving home. Looking forward I hope to cutting some nice zzz’s shortly. Silly kitty girls had been at the door waiting for me to get off the phone and to put the parrot to bed. No sooner open the door no cats to be found. Finally Itty Bitty shows up and no Tinker Bell the fluffy one. That is the most and loudest I have ever heard Tinker Bell meow. They were on the roof in the drizzling rain. Of course Itty is so limber down she comes. Poor Tinker can’t move like that so 10 minutes later she is finally down and in the house.

  26. clucky says:

I’m still here, just busy at work, then exhausted when I get home.

    Appt w/neurosurgeon today.
